UFC 251 Review & European Football Update - Episode 36

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Rhett joins the show to recap the recent UFC 251 event and quickly summarise the action in Europe's biggest soccer leagues over the last few weeks.

Cheese. He settle. Welcome back to the on the ball podcast. This is episode thirty six of the show. We are once again joined by rhet welcome back mate. Thanks fat. How's IT gone? They're pretty good. Not really doing too much the moment really uni holidays, back and lockdown for the second time being in Melbourne and Melbournian. So I'm not doing too much. Pretty much just going through a daily routine at the moment of going for a run, then going for a skateboard and then just organizing stuff for the podcast. Pretty much all I'm doing. I think got to start some shooting soon because the kids are back at school, you know. Yeah, I get that. Income Rolling. This is this is zoom teaching type of thing. Yeah, yeah, just the just the zoom. I'm how's TASI GOING AT REGNA? Man, everything day. Everything's back to normal. We can do whatever claim my fool contact sport clubs are open, man, not that I've been, but yeah, have it. Have you had any more soccer matches after the first one or I we had a practice mat yesterday. Just got killed like eight one seeing is that was like intr club match. So just just the better team. vess, sorry, he's got killed. That's a bit dog anyway. So today we're here to chat about yesterday's UFC two hundred fifty one. It's probably, on paper, one of the best. Well, I'm not like I've haven't been a UFC fan for like ten years, so I can't really make this claim, but I've heard people say it's like one of the best cards on paper ever. Yeah, there was three, three title fights, and another one basically, which was a number one contenders fight. So pretty outstanding stuff. I know we both watched it. How did you enjoy it? Did I got to your expectations? I think all the expectation after the AFTERMASS, but I'll got put in. All the expectation was on the main event and I think that the main event was the only fight that disappointed and everybody was left with like a little bit of a dull. But I think over the rest of the cart it was pretty pretty unreal fights or right. Yeah, yeah, the the people who bought the pay per view definitely got their money's worth. Yeah, pretty much every fight almost when the distance. Obviously, yarn I'LD finished like a minute to dirty before the final bell. Yeah, bar in the first fight in the card. And speaking of that first fight, Amanda rebouse versus Page van sent in the women's flyweight division, that she was rebuse was the heaviest favorite on the card. She she's not even that highly rank. She's only like number fourteen ranked, and that's actually in the Straw Weight Division. But I think page has been fighting much recently and it was all over pretty pretty much to she's like took her down almost straight away and then it's just a matter of getting their arm and and then just sub tapped her out through an armlock. So it was pretty even too much. I think you watch this one, didn't you? Yeah, like all the talk going into it was about Van's aunt was like going into a free agency. So she had this was the last fight on her contract and she was like telling everyone like Oh yeah, I'm...

...going to you like going a free agency and get more money in Shit, because apparently, like the matt she gets off like Instagram and like modeling and Shit is way more than what she gets from the USC. Yeah, so she's kind of fuming about that, but then she doesn't really have a leg to stand on because she's got tapped down about two minutes. So pretty, pretty rubbish fight. Really. Yeah, I think completely one started. I think rebuss is like pretty highly rated, like she's on the up, whereas Van's ants more journeywoman, I'm saying. And Yeah, I think they were saying on my favorite show DC in Hell Wanni, they are saying that Van Zance boyf or boyfriend or husband or something fight, either fights or works at bell at, or so apparently she's going to be going there. Yeah, yeah, who knows? Maybe. Well, I don't know why the UFC would offer a lot of money, but yeah, I heard Anna talking in the Dane was talking in the post by it about her going into free agency and he's just like yeah, she probably should test the free agency, just like hinting that he's just donet give a fuck, like as she was apprety Shit. I thought that was harsh, but she can cough. Yeah, she's doing the page. Is kind of doing the Bouche art intenders. Starts off the career well and then seems so her attention goes elsewhere and kind of forgets about what she made a famous. Yeah, I think the money just doesn't make sense for anymore. So it's like had to murder itself when she even said, she's like I can post one photo on instagram and get more money than fighting. Yeah, fair. must be hard about yourself, and that's o case. Yeah, it's fair enough. So, yeah, that's pretty much it for the first fight was over pretty quickly, so not not too much a chat about it. Then that took us into probably the fight I was most excited for, to be honest. Yeah, obviously a lot of the hype was about Kumara and mast few dull but or even Maxim Balknovski. Bit, I was very keen for Jess Gone Traj and Rose Dammy UNIS, and it lived up to expectation. Is it one fight of the night? Yeah, in like the performance bonuses, it went the distance and rose got up, which I was happy about. I was gone for rows. She's probably like my favorite female fighter. Yeah, and yeah, so she's back in the winter circle now probably looks set to take on the champ, Jean Wiley, which will be awesome fight to watch because Jean Wiley's fires a pretty much always that lead. Yeah, this one, though, deservedly far to the night, very tight the whole way through. I agree with the judges. Personally, I thought rose one of the first two rounds and then Jessica on the final round. Yeah, but yeah, the only negative about this five is probably that it wasn't five rounds, because it was probably a little bit more entertaining than the three fights to follow. If I'm honest, rose had to slide up a hand in terms of the stats, in terms of strikes and significant strikes, but Jessica had the takedown and I think Jessica's punches seem to do a lot more than roses. A lot of roses were kind of just like light jobs, but they all add up and in the end she had double the strikes to her opponent's head as Jessica did. So that probably played a big factor in the judges to vision. What do you think of this one? Right also, yeah, I thought had a gone five rounds, the result might have been different because I think because rose really look like she was slowing down early. I mean sorry, late in the fight, but I think and draws just took a bit too long to put a foot on the gas, much like I thought was the case. And want to other fights, which we'll get to. But yeah, I think rose really did well to bank those two early rounds and then she kind of she also took off foot off the gas. She's tried to stick in that for the last round and ground it out, but I think she fought really...

...long first two rounds. Her boxing looked like really good compared to Androids, like the technique was much better, I think. Yeah, and draw she kind of made and draws look like a bit of a hack. Yeah, this is straight fighter. Rose was legit like losing her balance and stuff by the ends, as you were saying. I think if there was even just one more round, let alone to I think Jessica could have beaten her. So potentially, obviously this is pretty far fetched, but if rose goes and beat young Wailee, potentially like another trilogy fight for these two for the belt, and that would be five rounds, which would probably suit the challenge in Jessica. So that would be interesting to see. But obviously rose would have to beat young waylee. So yeah, rose one that, I was going to say pretty comfortably, but in the end it wasn't really given that batter, which is a split. Let's a split decision or yeah, yeah, this one is it. Judges gave it to Jessica. The first judge gave it to rose and then this second one, gave it to jess because so I genuinely thought Jessica was going to get it. But yeah, I wouldn't been happy about but I rose got the win. And Yeah, as I said, this was basically a title shot. Really, unless they give it, I think there's a good chance they do a rematch between Jean Wally and Joanna. Yeah, because I fight was true part of the year. Probably. Yeah, that is true, whichever one was to see gun. But yeah, and then, yeah, so the winner, if they don't get the title show, I don't really know where to from there for them. But the loser, I think they're probably better than everyone else in the division. So they'll probably just have to cop a few fights where they just dust off a few of the lower ranked people. Yeah, I think before they get another title shot. But I think you might be one of them. Will fight yoanna probably, maybe, and then rose with the title shot. Yeah, if you want, and Jessica both coming off losses and makes cut and kind of makes sense. Yeah, that does make sense. Yeah, that that does make a lot of sense. So, yeah, that was fight of the night, and deservedly so. Probably my favorite fight of the night. Yeah, even though the following three will interesting to watch. So that led us into the third fight of the the main card, which was peeled again and Jose Aldo, which was a bit of an interesting one for the vacant bent and wait title after Henry Sejudo retired, and you'd probably think it would go to a number one and two showdown, but it actually they gave it to number three and number nine in the ranks or something like that. Yeah, which is quite a surprise. But in this fire they kind of showed why they were held in such high regard by Dana to get the shot vote. Both like super technical fighters and yeah, what do you think of this one? I thought, I think this one was probably my favorite, just because I think podon put in like such a good performance. I think he showed why everyone was hiking him up. Everyone was thinking like that it might just be hyped, like he hasn't for anyone that competitive yet, but he showed like he's got everything in this fire, like he he's his engine was like really impressive as well, because I think it kind of showed that auto war like was worn down and then he kind of slowed in the last two rounds, and then Podon, which is on his ass when he was just, yeah, Etym by the end. Yeah, I thought the stoppage was pretty poor. Like you should have stopped it at least a minute earlier. Yeah, he was on his back. He was like moving around. Yes, like he can do anything about it. It's like not really defending yourself just because you yeah, change your position next and canist defend. Yeah, he was legit just on his head for like two minutes. But yeah, that's probably a good point. Yeah, that last. It's pretty...

...tight in the first couple. Yeah, yet that last, that last three minutes especially, but even the fourth round yarns to dirty things, to legend. That is our though. I think the bandom weight divisions actually like it really, really exciting, like right now than before. Whence the judo is in it? Like I don't think anyone was really paying attention to it, but I think it's like way better than yeah, I think it's a weird thing that happens when like the champion leaves and just opens the door for so many new people. Yeah, it's yeah, I think PDON are prdn versus Alger man stealing next. Yeah, Aljo definitely definitely should be like the man penciled in for that? Yeah, for that shot. That's going to be, even though he's not number one ranked. But USN'T MARLA MO race. It's like Marlo the SAMs. He beat Jose Al Though, in like Brazil last year, but apparently, like even Dana's. Yeah, everyone thought he last thing. That's wrong. Yes, I think that's him. Know, he's done one ranked. I don't think they really view them as the number one ring. No. Yeah, definitely think Al Jamin will get it, which will be a pretty interesting fight. Yeah, for sure. And Yeah, yeah, as you said, the Bantamweight Division looks very interesting now. Yeah, it's pretty inch it like, as you said, it's a weird concept that the champion leagues and then it gets better. Yeah, you kind of especially like not. What was it? What was that night where they showcased? Like was IT UFC? Like, was it the last anthom maybe U s two hundred and forty nine or tw hundred and fifty. This is Bantom way after Bantom way. Yeah, I think it was too fifty. Yeah, which is Amanda new now. Yeah, man, if it's kind and I think there's actually short and stuff. Yeah, the fact that there was three like beast finishes all from bandom weights. was just helped everyone get into it. So I think everyone's really excited about the division now, which is probably a first for these lads. Yeah, I don't. I don't think cody garbrand's penciled in for anything. Yeah, so maybe a cody Jose a fight, but I don't really know what cody gets from that, if I'm honest. Yeah, maybe right at them, and I'm saying cody could, but someone higher like the rice. I think the fair Sean o'malley has a fight already books now. I think it is it on the lists? Yeah, they see card. That's going to be easy to fifty two again. I forgot the guy's no, yeah, I don't know. WHO's a Brazilian guy, I'm sure. Oh, yeah, is it? Yeah, you do something by cheeto Rivera. Yeah, Mam they're I think that's something like that. It was or something. He was kind of dogged against saying you're dog or whatever that guy's name is. Oh, yeah, so, yeah, yeah, he was like way better than and he lost the fight. So Yeah, very interesting times for the Bantam way interesting to see what cody garbrand does as well, because I think he's out high in the rankings. I think he's like six or something, but they could give him a shit fight against like Marla morace or something like that. Yeah, it will see. Yeah, definitely think Al Joe will get that shot against pod yarn. Yeah, because to him, because, yeah, I looked pretty bloody beast and our thos been like purvocy, building beef with him for a while. So I think that's going to help these. Yeah. And then the next one, which is probably another one that I was most came for, even over the main event, Max Holloway, Alexander Volkanovsky to and Volkanovsky came in the came in the favorite and basically showed why, I guess. Even though everyone's pretty disappointed by the decision, I agreed. I didn't watch I'll be honest, we will. I can't watching a movie while this fire was on. So, like, I wasn't watching every single second of it,...

...but from what I saw, I definitely thought Max was the better. But then you look at the statistics, it's kind of hard to argue with the judges decision. How did you see it? I think what kind of skews? Everyone shows the back, looks at the stats and then you see even in the first two two rounds like like it says Volcanoski had more significant strikes, but Max dropped him in both rounds. So you can't. You can't. There's no argument for the first two rounds, like they had to go to Max and then I think for most of the third round Max dominated that as well. So I think I don't. I didn't see how they could give any of the first three to Volcanosky. But I think what you're what everyone was saying, was like if you're a judge and you're washing, you're watching the fight and you've seen the first two rounds and you've already given him to Max and then the third round it's like kind of close, but if you give it to Max then you're ready. You've already decided to fight. So if it's close, they might just have just give it to the other fighter. But they're thinking open, yeah, just to leave it like just so I don't have to make that right. have in their head they've already made the decision on the fight. Yeah, that makes sense. But to be fair of alkinos heat he did dominate the last last two rounds for sure, especially the last one. He came on strong. Yeah, and like, although Volcanoski has more strikes and significant strikes, a lot of them were leg kicks which, although they do a lot of damage compared to like head and body blows, they probably should be taken into account less. Yeah, yeah, very stiff for Max. He also thought he won the first fight, which was a lot less controversial, I think. I think most people agreed that with the judges on that occasion. But Not really sure what's next for Max now, because I don't think. I don't know, like he's not going to get a trilogy fight after losing the first two, which I think I starts because, yeah, I definitely think he deserve that fight and it's just weird to not see it, to see Max all the way fighting and not be for a title. I think every fight he's for in the last like three years has been for a title. Yeah, which, yeah, like, although as Australians we probably should be happy that Volkanovski one. That was kind of golf for Max. I just Max is just like the most liable like he's like like a most likable gun in the US. I say, yeah, everybody roots for him and then, like Vulcanofsky, I think it's like he's short, showed step, just turns off kind yeah, legit. He just looks like bit a grow but he played rugby leagues, so I should probably should respect him. Yeah, so interesting to see what's next for both these fighters. Now, as we said, I don't really see why there be a trilogy fight, given the Volcanofsky one the first two. Yeah, but then the problem is there's no real yeah, below them. There's not really too many other big names. There's like Sa beat, but he's not really fought too many big, big fighters. He He. He has like a really good I've watched some of his fights and he looks like dangerous. But yeah, he has a fight, I think, two weeks after the DC MEO church card against like yeah, Rodriguez or something, who's all right frank. So if he wins that, you think he'll get a shot at Volkanovski? Yeah, but the problem is that's a very mythical fight. Like yeah, I don't see anyone. They're talking about, like Sujudo's talking about coming back to fight to fight Volcanovsky, and I low key,...

...even though Volcanoski saying he doesn't want the fight. Like there's more interest in that than any of the other contenders. Often if they do a whole away again, yeah, like if it's Vulcanovsky versus Abbit, like I don't even know if they can. Like I don't think that can headline a paper of you no way, not know. Any might head like genuinely might be limited to a fight night headline, which I'm pretty sure the Flywhite, I think the flyweight titles up for grabs. It a fight night, like can't tell me where you're even. Yeah, I don't know who they are. So yeah, that's realistically, it's probably not ideal for the USC that Hollway lost this because they probably the know the preferred whole way to win, and then that sets up a trilogy. But I guess it's the Be Beats Rodriguez. He deserves a final shot, even if it's not going to be that popular. Yeah, in terms of Max, not really sure what to now for him because, any anyone else, he's going to find this division. It's going to be a pretty mythical fight and you'd like to think he will just dispose of them pretty quickly. So I don't really know, like the history of Max anything, but maybe a divisional change or something. Yeah, I think he'll be on the cards. He's fought are I'm pretty sure he's for yeah, he's for a lightweight. Before he fought for the interim lightweight against Dustin pourrier and lost in a five rounder. It went the distance. was like one of the best fays of that year, but he lost in then pro ended up fighting. Could be. So you never know. Maybe back to light way. But light weights one of the most stacked divisions right now. It's probably more there's probably more money on offer from there. Yeah, depends kind of title versus money. I think he's already is. He's already cemented himself as like the best feather weight of all time. Yeah. Yeah, because like along with out it, it could go take fights like even like Dan Hooker or like Tony Ferguson, like that would be good, even though they're not high ranked that. He's got to make more money than that than Um. Yeah, fighting some of the people. Yeah, it's just like you don't want you don't want to lose three in a row if your Max. Yeah, so I think he might still go for any easy taken, easy ones, easy fight. Way just built himself back up, because I think that would have crushed him, like to go through all of that and then be certain that you won and then the decision I got away, like I don't think you'll fight for a while. Yeah. So in terms of who Max could fight, there's like Brian or tiger and like young song jewel or something, I don't know. The Koreans on the death Korean yeah, Saddy's say. Yeah, the curacy, I think. Yeah, they were meant to fight those two. Or take ember, but or take a pulled out with like a hamstring injury or something. So they have beef apparently. You know if that are really? Yeah, because that Fi will probably be rescheduled some point and then maybe Max fights the winner. Yeah, that would that would make sense. And then also in this division, Calvin Qutar, obvious, Dandy Gay on Thursday. That's the no that's had soon enough. That's the main event on Thursday, so that the winner of that, although that neither of them at that high rank, they're both coming off wins. So the winner of that could shoot up into Max hole away contention. Who knows? I think Calvin Castle, he looks they're both look good, but I think there's a lot of hyper around Calvin Castle because, like the last fight, he knocked who was it? What's his name? Jeremy St Jeremy Stevens. Yeah, the guy got trilled by me, the guy. Yeah, just I think he five pounds over. Yeah, he was five pounds over and still got like flat line. So, yeah, so, yeah, that that's pretty much it for that one. And then that...

...brought us into the main event, much hyped Kamarasman versus whole Hay males of Adal. Obviously, the hope kind of intensified after Gilbert Burns tested positive to covid button. Yeah, which is a bit sad, but you know, he'll get back, I think you'll. Burns will probably get the next shot after the marrowsman anyway. And Yeah, what do you think of this fight? I think if everyone has been completely realistic and just looking at it like tactically going in, I think, mm, like nine ninety, nine times out of a hundred this was going to happen. Like everyone was banking on Masmadale pulling out like a one of his fucking fluke hand of God like knockouts. But's gonna happen. Yeah, like Usman is just way too smart, way to way to technical and he's just like so much more bill like athletically, and I think he was just better in like almost every department. And the fact that he just took it straight to the wrestling like it gave from Asmadala zero chance. Yeah, so I think you. But it was like, I know it's stupid to say this because from Osman Wasman's point of view, like why wouldn't you just fight a boring five if it's going to get you your title back? But yeah, it was very boring, like pretty much from around three on, it was just like in the clinch against the fence. Yeah, and I think, like a lot of people were saying, like this was Usman's chance to become like a star of the USC when this is like the most people that would at would ever have been watching his fight by like an absolute mile. And he's just like just fucking sat on him for four rounds, like he had a chance to be like goes out and like finishes him, like knocks him out. He instantly becomes like a style like everyone will know his ever, remember his name. They'll tune in next time he fights. Next time he fights, everyone remember. I remember the last time. He's got forty set on mass with DALL's face for four rounds. Like I think he regret not trying to put him away, for sure. Like I think he's done more damage to his reputation than what he thinks. Like. Yeah, I think the UFC would be kind of annoyed by it as well, because this was like the wealth way. It's pretty good division, especially up top. But yeah, Umpion, he's a myth pretty much. Yeah, honestly, I'm way right. Have Coby Comington knows that, honestly, called having some one I ever fight, any man who is funny as and when far at the moment he's the title holders the unfortunately for the UFC, they're not like the greatest characters, like a lot of the greatest characters, except style, just outside the title picture, like you've got out of Sunyard, John Jones and could be. And then the rest, even like Steve A, they're all pretty mythical. Yeah, like steep a, never fights, and then like Usman and Valkonovsky, their myths. And just imagine, in Ghanu Jones style, bender coming to here all the lads, man, could they yeah, yeah, exactly, all the way back to probably not ideal for the USC, but I well, they can cop and, to be fair, car really hate on Kumaru is just was doing from he's he's just all business man. He doesn't give us where you coping. The we cop on the feet, the toe stamps, those fucking weirdmit like I'm pretty sure he goes only to like he breaks his toe there. Yeah, I'm thinking he was only doing that so he didn't get told off about doing nothing. Like I don't actually think he was really trying to yeah, I use a fucking skilly I don't think there's trying to kill him his toes. Yeah, everyone was abusinging for it, but fair play for...

...it. Allowed him to say, I really don't think you care, Moll Yeah. Right. So I have to say it was pretty disappointing. Like I'm not going to come out and say it's Kumara's volt, but like, just in terms of the fight overalls, pretty dull. I think he just on the comes to trick, for sure. Yeah, it's probably the worst on the card and yeah, I'm much would have preferred to see burns versus Usman, but yeah, I'm sure we'll get to see that in the near future. Yeah, I think Burns and stuff, Burns will be way close to fire. I think it's still set. Is Much more closely. His stylistically just matches up way better because on the ground he's got way more of it. I can attack him skill set and mass, but I'm mass. What I was just trying to get up. Get up, get up, and if us do that, yeah, youse can tie yourself out. Yeah, that happened. Yeah, so I definitely think that's pretty much locked in. It was some in versus burns. Yeah, and for mass be dull, I think I want to see him fight Covington. Yeah, and then the winner fights the winner of it was burns. Well, if it was, be wins. If he loses, probably a rematch. But yeah, it's pretty stiff. Only on Edwards. Yeah, and even tire on would lee, but tire and yeah, I just think that aren't Max st that's just stiff him to just see spat out that fast. But I don't really know what that maybe he can fight. It woulds, I don't know, but he will probably get killed there. Yeah, I think Edwards deserves the title shot as well, but like it just makes more sense for males, fittals to fight Covington because they both probably think they deserve another title shot because mass fatal and the came in on off a sixteen notice. And then Covington. There was a lot of controversy in that fight and he was claiming that like the only reason the ref was the RAF, the ref was allowing the fight to stop for like low blows, was because he is like antitrump and stuff like this. He was claiming a lot of things, but I was best there were some controversial moments in there, to be fair to him. Yeah, so I think that fight makes the most sense and that would be an awesome fight. Like the lead up to that fight there would be so much beef and I think that would be much closer fight because I don't think Covington's not going to just grabbing by the crunch and taking down. I think you actually try and stand there and my strike with him, which I think will be unreal spectacle. Yeah, like maybe they could go Covington versus Edwards and then muzzle it. All fights would lead to kind of spring board and back into stardom after that pretty lack luster performance. But I think it's pretty that's pretty stiff on must fatal. Yeah, I think that's what I was wait, he's just too big of us. I don't think this did anything to his reputation. Honestly. Yeah, exactly. So I think the wind as yea, as DC was saying on the DC in Hawani, shows a win win for him. Like if you louses, he just say sixteen. Notice. If you wins, he just says I'm a beast, basically. Yeah. So, yeah, unless he goes down a division takes on Connor, I think he's too I reckon kind would have to come to where away, for sure. Yeah, I don't think. I don't even really want to see that. Just stick stick to divisions, lads, show show some respect to the system. So yeah, that's pretty much it for us. See Two hundred and fifty one. There's a lot of fights coming up in the near future. We've got DC and steep a, the trilogy fight for the heavyweight title coming up and I think the second week of August and the flyway title is like General. It's like some myth midweek show, but that's coming up, I think, in two weeks. So yeah, pretty exciting times in the UFC as well. The thing is covid is not even easing...

...there, but based on the amount of events. It seems like it is. So, yeah, fair now, fair play to the FC. Yeah, it's pretty tact because one over a lot of people because, like I've become a fan as it was the only spot to watch, and I'm sure a lot of people have been in the same boat as me. Yeah, so that's IT FOR MMA now. I just I thought we were just have a little bit of a chat about the soccer. I'll be honest. Since it was one, I haven't been paying attention to it too much. I can't just watch the highlights every now and then and the scores, but I don't haven't really been watching many matches live. I know not last night in terms of the Premier League, the North London Derby was on. I watched the first half. Did you see the hearts of this one? Yeah, I did. I thought Arsenal's defense. It was the goals that I considerable both. Yeah, the first one lacks gold, though, lass like all goal it was and sounds finish was also. Yeah, and I don't I haven't looked at twitter anything, but I'm sure David Louise is probably copying a lot. For that Cup there was a hundred percent collars and that's nice pass was. He missed him by five meters and the past was only ten meters. Like I don't think you could have done it any worse if you tried. Yeah, could finish by son. It was a great game to watch. Actually, I was watching on my laptop because I was watching the cricket. Yeah, probably shouldn't be wearing this Jersey right now, given the fact that they just lost to the West indies, but yes, I was watching this and yeah, it was actually really exciting to watch both teams. Is Defensive kind of been woefull this season. Yeah, and that was evident. Really it was just enter end, so much space in the midfield. It was really exciting to watch. But then the relegation. Five mate is the top of the the European title, like the European spots there, there, and like that's a big fight up there. But the relegation playoff, that is spicy. Aston Villa finally won their first game in like eleven matches last night and you were thinking that's huge when they've Leete frog ball with their only for points outside safety, away from safety. And then Bournemouth just goes bang last of full one, which I'm happy about because I want Bournemouth to stay our yeah, big fan of Bournemouth. Like the way they go about it, like the way they then managed. I like the players. So they're still one win outside of the safety and villa plays West Ham the last round, so someone's going to have to drop points there. But yeah, it's just going to get it's just getting heated there. Yeah, even though Liverpool's already won the title and they've clinched it with a big gaped back to second. Everywhere else it's pretty exciting. Tottenham leap frogged arsenal now and all of a sudden they're why? Actually, don't think they're physically can, but they might make the Europa League. I don't they can make the Champions League. So it's pretty spicy. Man Cities Band just got overturned or whatever. They're allowed to play the Champions League next years, which is which is bad for men united and wolves, which who will probably hoping to capitalize on their band by coming fifth and sneaking into the Champions League. I think it's going to be lesser who's who caught the brunt of that after their performance on the weekend. I think they're going to sleep in a fifth united they've been. They've been one of the worst teams post honestly they've been. That been horrendous, and united between two of the best. Yeah, which is not good for them. And, however, the soccer story in the moment that I'm probably most excited about leads on top of the championship by three points. They've got a six point lead over third with only three matches to go. So if they win in this coming week, they're pretty much all but sealed it. Yeah, I think, which was amazing to see such a big club coming...

...back up to the premier league. Really excited. I hope I get it done now. They look good as well. I think they can secure it on there's a chance that they secure it on Thursday. I think I'm run. Yeah, they're playing Barnsley, who's bottom of the league. Yeah, on Friday. Well, Thursday over there. So they should be dispatching of them pretty comfortably and they will see leads brought back up unless Brentford win, which but if Brentford win, then they have to somehow win both their games and leads have to lose both. But yeah, so leads are looking like they're going to be promoted, which is amazing to see. I was lucky enough to see. I was lucky enough to see Liverpool in the year they won and likely to see leads in the year they came back to the premier league. So might a touch. And then elsewhere in the Saria, I think you've a UVEA drew with someone the other day, but last year and into just keep slipping up. Oh, that's right, they drew with Thatt lanter the all. Yes, so I don't know, without exciting. Yeah, it's fine. I will be that exciting that race, but unless you've enters, keep slipping up. And then in Spain, Real Madrid have overtaken bars and they've got a game in hand and have a one point lead. So they could go four points clear if they get that done and there's only two matches left. So looks like baster of choked there, which is pretty average footy, I think. Yeah, that's it for just a quick soccer whip around. What would you have to say? Yeah, I think real injured. I've been watching like all their games have been like limping through the Games, like one neill be three Ramos penalties have been getting them through, but bys have also been like pretty pretty average. To be there watching bosses, like watching Liverpool like two thousand and sixteen. It's like just frustrating. They they just play this like nice as footy, try and slice through teens. Don't quite have it yet, like they just can't penetrate all these two pretty handy Spanish defenses and it kind of just ends up coming down to messy if you can do something special, which is like what it used to be with Continua. Yeah. So, yeah, seeing comparisons there and I can only see bars are getting worse like next season. I don't see how they get better, like all their players, their main the heart of their team, or old. Yeah, there's only leave in the US. They've got frankie and like and said fast like, but but they're not even the level that. Yeah, yeah, that exactly. They can't freeze me wire as messy pusskets, racquetage K fucking ll get an old. So good lucks, masters. Yeah, they surely gotta make a move for like potch or, yeah, spicy. They'RE gonna have to change something up, because at this rate there's no way they're improving enough to catch mar dread, whose team is, like, I think, more exciting. Yeah, like they they play better footy, but Madrid just has more style power. It's getting them over the line. It will be it in tight ones. So that's pretty much all all I've got to say. Really well, were you going to say? I think is the Dan's got them just working better than what's the name, the bus manager? It's such another Birda or yeah, set, yeah, about Birda. Yeah, yeah, we'll see what happens, but can't see him lasting. Yeah, so that's all I've got for us. I hope you've enjoyed listening watching. There's going to be lots of more episodes to come. Also on Youtube I'm going to start putting up some clips up of the podcast, so like just a little five minute, ten minute clips, so if you're not interested in watching the whole thing, you can relive shorter...

And then I know we have an end of NRL review coming up with lock and then, I think peanuts or Alexander Van Weell was going to make his debut on the show. Bit of a shorter one today. Yeah, just felt like I had to address the USC given how hyped I was about and how much mean rhet we're into it. So yeah, but yeah, thanks for joining me. Redoffs nor get a hacker and yeah, actually need it's crossed. Yeah, thanks wild thanks silly.
