"Peter Sagan will still win the Green Jersey???" Tour de France 2020 - Episode 63

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

On the second rest day of the 2020 Tour de France, Hamish reviews the last 6 stages of action in team by team analysis. He assesses the situation of each jersey and makes bold predicitions for the end of the race.

Cheese settle. Welcome back to theon the wall podcast. This is episode sixty three of the show. TodayI am once again doing a solo episode. I promise I will get guests onit sounds like I'm just loving a bit of me time at the moment. But once again we're talking about cycling. So yeah, I thought it wouldbe only right to do it by myself again. We're just going todo it in a similar structure to the last one. We're just going totalk about each team, talk about their performance in each classification and their performanceas a whole over the two weeks so far. But yeah, I'm reallyloving the race at the moment. Might make a few slip ups today becauseI am a bit tired because I woke up for both the men's and women'sfinals of the US Open in the tennis after watching the stage of two ofthe France the night before. So I had about four hours sleep two daysin a row. But not should be good. Yeah, really love inthe race. Trying to get my little brother into it actually at the momentwere which is a bit of a task because although I love cycling, I'msure all of you do listening and watching but to an untrained eye it doeskind of look like a bunch of blokes riding a bike on a road. So, but that's my mission. I'm going to try and get him intoit so I've got someone to get around it with me. But yeah, before we get into it, obviously do all the good stuff. Subscribe, like to the Youtube Channel and Youtube Video, rate us on Apple, apple podcastsand spotify and review us and everything you can do. That would begreat, much appreciated. All right, without further ado, we'll start. We'll go from in team order of based on their highest GC rider. Sowe'll start with Yambo visma. Not much has change really since last week forthem. They are still dominating this race. Every single climb we've been on basicallyhas been led by about for sometimes five, sometimes six young movies MRADERS. Last night they really flex their muscles just rotating through all their big dogsat the front. Vent are doing long terms, Georgie Bennett doing long terns, Doo Milan, just using him as a lead out man, basically onthe clock on the mountains, which is such a luxury to have. Butin terms of the classifications, premos role at the team leader here's in yellowat the moment and I'll be honest, I might do some predictions later onin the episode, but I do not see that Jersey being take him off. And really I think the team is too strong around him and it wouldtake a pretty I think it. Basically the only way they would happen isif one day he just blew up, because obviously there's a time trial comingand he is one of the best time trialers in the world, especially whenthe state, when the course has a little bit of mountains or hills onit. So I think it's stage twenty individual time trial that really suits himand yeah, I just don't see him slipping up at all. He looksreally strong and all the climbs. Obviously has to do less work than prettymuch every other GC leaders just because his team leads him up so far, that up up the mountain so far where he's really out in his own usuallyfor the last kilometer or two. Then for them in ten they've got TomDemula five minutes back on his teammate, obviously not writing for himself, butprobably looking good for a top ten, if not a top five, becauseyou know rock, which is getting a lot of support. But if DOOMilan's second last wheel of that Jabos a train, he's going to end upbeing on the right up there in at the end of all the big climbspretty much. So he could actually sing into the top five. And,as I mentioned, for Rock, which Domla is also a talented time trialso I think he was once the world champion in the individual time trial. So he'll be licking his lips for stage twenty and could see himself crack intothat top five. But I definitely think he's locked in stage ten, topten, unless he has a blowout in the mountains and then step cous justone of the domestics for rock, which she's in seventeen thirty four minutes back, so nothing outrageous. But he himself, same as Jumlah, might be lookingat a top fame, top fifteen finish, which would be pretty impressiveby him. In the other classifications they've got web venart sixth in the GreenJersey on a hundred and thirty one points.

He's not going for it, sothere's not really much point talking about he's not going to go for theintermediate sprints and stuff like that. King of the mountains pretty as rock, which is third and he could definitely win this Jersey. They're not going forit, as I keep saying, but especially in the next two or threestages there's some big climbs, big points up for grabs. I do thinkthere's going to be a few more breakaways getting away because recently the breakaways haven'treally been getting away much at all. The PELOTON's only been letting them getout to, you know, three or four minutes and then they catch themon the climbs, like they did last night and stage fifteen. So ifthey keep doing that, well then rock ledge or poge chart could walk awaywith the POKODOL Jersey. Is a bit of a consolation or just added bonus, depending on who comes home to Paris with the Yellow Jersey. In termsof the team classification, their second. They're not trying to win this,as I keep saying, but they probably, they probably will be right up therejust because of rock, which Dumlankus van art, even George Bennett. They're all like outstanding riders in their own right. I was thinking about thisbefore. Imagine if they had deaferm cruise vic who was going to be writingthe tool. I believe until about two weeks beforehand. I think he amouthave had a crash or something in one of the leader races. That wouldhave been insane if he was in their team top ten stages in the lastsick wall the last week they had well vent art come third and stage elevenprimos came second last night and stage fifteen and step cuss was in sixth lastnight as well. So pretty handy stuff from that. Next up we've gotyou a team. Emirates mentioned him a little bit earlier, but Taddy PogaChar is their group team leader in the GC. He sits second forty secondsback on his Slovenian counterpart, promos rock lhitch. Once again. I'll talkabout in the predictions at the end of the episode, but he's writing superbat the moment and it's going to be interesting to see how if he cankeep this up for twenty one days or if he does blow up on oneof the big mountain stages. But at the moment he looks as strong,if not stronger, than rock, which probably just likes the team around himto help him, which is a bit of a shame because you never reallywant to see it's like F one. You don't really want to see certainriders or drive was given a unfair advantage over others, but that's just theway it rolls and it is a teen sport at the end of the day. So yeah, Tadda Pockach was great, twenty one years old, such anexciting prospect, so fast like him and rock butcher having a great littleseries of battles at the top of the climbs to pick up the summit finishor the you know, the points in the Green Jersey. They've got twoblocks in the top ten but, as I said before, they're not goingfor it. They've got Alexander Christoph on a hundred points. He's basically justthere through sprint finishes, and Tad a pocket Cha himself is in ten,on ninety seven points, just because of the the finishes, the summit finishesthat he's being able to get over pretty high up in the standings. Andthen King of the mountains taddle pocket are actually sits above rock which in thaton thirty four points, and Ben while caused the Foi, the leader ofthat, is on thirty six points. So, depending on how things goon the next couple days we could see Tadd a pocket chat in the POLKADOTS and then Tadda Poca Cha. He leads the White Jersey after eat gumburn iles blow up last night and he looks pretty comfortable in that classification. So pocket chart could be rolling home with a POLKA DOT and White Jersey and, who knows, maybe even the yellow. So He's riding great. The teamsin eleven and team standings in terms of top tens, they had Davidde la Cruz came ten on stage thirteen and then tad a pocket car onestage shift in last night DNF's, along with Fabyar route from last week. They had DAW Formolo at the very start of this week had to crash withsome road furniture, which sure his race prematurely end. Third we've got earpro cycling. Their GC man is Rigaberto Uran. He sits in third,a minute and thirty four seconds behind. So the gaps were pretty smaller untillast night and now it's looking like it's a bit of a two horse raceinto Paris. But you never know, like we saw with burn our lastnight. Now many people would have expected that and rock which could have aday similar to that out of nowhere. So these guys, they're putting thepressure on him and he's team so ran is a minute and thirty back. They're not competing for the green or cooking a mountains. In terms of theWhite Jersey. They've got Daniel Philippe Martinez, Danny Martinez. He's in fifth, but he is an hour and twenty three back on Tadda, pocket chat, and then Neilson palaces and nights, but he's almost two hours back onpocket child. But both having great campaigns.

Those two. MARTNEZ had to stagewin on stage thirteen. Great result for him and he's team Hugh Cartialso came ninth on that stage, so good day out for the EF procycling side. And then last night rigger Berto run stuck into the top tencoming night, but he did drop a little bit of time on to someof the other guys. DNF. They had Sergio a Guita. Unfortunately hecrashed out last night. I didn't actually see it, but he was ridingpretty well this this tour. He was in the top twenty, might havebeen even top fifteen, and with the big mountains he was probably looking tofinish inside the top ten. But that is not to be and unfortunately thatis hurt the team the team classifications and they've dropped down to third, twentysix minutes back. So they're probably out of that race, which they probablycould have been favorites for it going into it. I reckon fourth, we'vegot team Astana there, GC man is Miguel and Lopez. He sits infourth right now. Had a great day last night. Climbed up the standings. I think he over over took burn all and Nara and Kintana and GilMarta. He's a minute and forty five back on Primos Rock Leitch, onceagain similar to run at the moment. Probably doesn't look likely that he willbe able to overtake rocklitch or crack back that minute and forty five, buthe looks really strong on all the climbs. Hasn't really looked threatened, like henever looked like getting dropped on any stage so far and he's team strengthened. I think it's Palo Bill Bow. He was there to the very endlast night. Harel to Jada. I don't know if from saying that correctly. Youngster, he was there late last night. So his team is slowlystarting to turn it on for him after a pretty bad staff in the team. I just mentioned this guy, but Harald to Jada. He is sixthin the White Jersey standing, so the young rider, but he is overan hour back, so he's not going to win it. In terms ofthe team they're seventh, so not bad for a starner. In terms ofthe stage finishes, Miguel and go Lopez came fourth last night and on stagetwelve, she go who came seventh. And then DNF Yon, is agear had a pretty nasty crash. Actually had a bit of blood coming outof I think it was his eyebrow. I think he might have fallen offand clipped a wall, which is never good to see, but I'm surehe is okay. Next we've got Mitchelton Scott. For me, this isprobably the one of the biggest surprises of the tour so far. They publiclydeclared before coming into it they were racing for stages similar to some of theother teams like, as you deserve, La Mondial with Bard a. Butby circumstance, or maybe it was just a tactic to put the pressure off, they've ended up writing for GC and Adam Yates looks like one of thestrongest GC contenders in the field. So Adam ate sits in five, twominutes and three seconds behind Primos Rocklitch, and then Estabana Shabez is in twenty, almost an hour back. But in turns out in Yates, he isreally impressed me this year. He's going to team in EOS next year,so it's going to be interested to see how that dynamic words. I thinkI might have mentioned this last week, but yeah, Adam Yates, hewas attacking on the climb last night when no one else could with the highpace Youngbo Vismil was setting, which is positive signs. Obviously that shows thathe liked his legs on the day and I think he actually did a favorto the rest of the team. I think everyone was struggling to keep upwith young bow business pace. I know the sounds a bit like a bitof a paradox, but um, he's attack kind of crushed young bovismins pacea little bit and brought their trained from about five to two or three. So I think that saved a few of the riders out of the back ofthat pack. Actually, I thought after his attacks someone else could have attacked, because young Moo visma did look a little bit, not vulnerable, butthey looked like they could have been attacked once Bennett and then art had beendropped following those yates attacks. But I don't think anyone had the legs andJumala was setting a pretty fast pace at the front. They are not reallycompeting for any of the jerseys in terms of team classification. Team classification. There and nine stage finishes they've had. Luca measic had a array of tentop ten. So in stage ten he came ten, stage eleventh he cameseventh, stage fourteen he came second. But that was the one where seenKra Anderson. You know, he attacked with about two Kys to go.So Mesic actually won the bunch print. So that was frustrating. I watchedthe backstage pass, which is the Youtube...

...series by Mitchelton Scott where they bringyou behind the scenes information and not white, the sporting director of Mitchelton Scott. He was pretty shouted about that because, as I just said, he realizedthat Lucamasiack won the bunch sprint but it just didn't happen to win therace, which is pretty rare. I'm usually those things go hand in hand, which hurts. And then Adam Yates, last night's he was in eighth position. DNF THEY HAD SAM Buley. He crashed out on stage ten, kind of went into like the ditch and then he's front wheel got got cloggedinto the mud kind of any went over the front handle bars. Didn't looktoo good. Next I we got track second, Fredo so from Australian teamto Australian dry rider. We have Richie port. He is in sixth, two minutes the thirteen back. I probably said this about every man in thetop six, but there's a reason for it. But Richie port looks reallygood. He has not looked like being dropped at all. And then mostof the climbs he's usually on the back of the young bow visitor train,so he's right at the front of the park. He hasn't really had thelegs or tactical NOWs to do an attack yet off his own back. He'sfollowed attacks and all that easily. So that's maybe something he might be lookingto do in the next few stages, because I don't think he's a prettyhandy time trialist himself. But I don't think he'll be fancying having to catch, you know, a minute up on rocklitch and pocket chart on the timetrial. Not sure if that's too possible for Ritchie, but he's doing well. Tom Scoyn's is the only man in another classification, his eighth and theKing of the mountains twenty four points. He has an accumulated a point, though this week. That was all from the first week. In terms ofthe team they're coming FIV. They were quite up there for that, butthen BALCOLM Moolema he dnft on stage thirteen and since then I think they're fallendown those standings quite a bit because he would have been up there in thetop twenty of most mountain stages and they could have had a real tussle withsome of the other teams for that team classification. In terms of the topten finishes in stages, they had quite a few. Like they did inthe first week. I think they've had the most overall out of any team, maybe next to somewhere. On stage ten they had matts pedison come fifth, Jasper stiven come ten. Stage eleven they had matts pedison come sixth.Stage twelve they had Kenny els on to come ninth. Stage fourteen they hadyes for sturb and come sixth, and Stage Fifteen they'd Ritchie port come third. So they're having a pretty successful tour. If it wasn't for BALCOMOLEM has crashingDNFING, you know, they could have been looking at two top tenfinishes in the GC, maybe even a team classification win and multiple top tens. So they're doing really well. Next up we've got Barra McLaren. They'vethey had a good week, but I think if you looked at their standingson week one, you maybe would have expected them to jump a little bithigher. But by all means they haven't done bad at all. Michael Lander, he is sitting in seventh, two minutes and sixteen back on premos Rock, which Damiano crusoe is in fourteen, but he's nine minutes back on rockwhich and then pellow Bill Bao is forty three minutes back on rock, whichsneaking into the top twenty and nineteen position. So they've got three top three inthe top twenty. I think they're the only other team, apart fromyour move, is meant to be able to say that, which is apretty impressive feat. Their teams starting to look stronger day after day. Oh, I said pellow bill bowls on a startup before. Sorry's I Barrow McLarenso. Last night they had three men in about the final ten in termsof that elite group of climbers, which is good to see and although Ido accuse career Rousso of maybe being a little bit selfish sometimes. I thinksometimes he's kind of writing for himself as opposed for his team leader. Ithink he's done that on a few occasions in my opinion. But they hadthree in that group, which is got to help lander somehow. And thenin terms of the team classification, there and fourth. But they might inthe next couple mountain stages, after the rest day, they might, youknow, raise a few positions in that one in that classification could push forpodium. And then top ten finishers. They haven't had many, to behonest, only at two in the first week and then they've had to thisweek Sonny kelbrely managed ninth on the fourteen stage and Michael Ender came seventh lastnight on stage fifteen. DNF. They didn't have any DNFS this week. They had Raphael Voles is still there. Only go hasn't. Isn't in therace yet. He crashed down on stage one. Next up we've got MoulviStar. They sit in eighth on the...

GC with enric mass three minutes andfifteen seconds back from premiers rucklehitch. So if I'm honest, barring magical seriesof events, these are probably the guys who can definitively rule out. I, like you could probably be a bit bullsier and basically rule out from aboutthird on words. But you know, just just to be thorough, wedon't want to someone two minutes about could do something special, but I thinkthree minutes plus back, especially with that time trial waiting, I don't thinkthese guys are in contention, maybe not even in contention for a podium,to be honest. Enric mass three minutes and fifteen seconds back. Aleandro valvertsit's in twelve, six minutes and fifty two seconds back. So they've donepretty well too. Leaders in the top twelve. That's, you know, team sky, kind of eliteness there, but they would like to have massa little bit higher. I think he started pretty slow, but he's reallyhe's really ramped up the last couple days last night he was very impressive. He came Fiv on the stage and Aleandro Valvert it was also in ten onthe stage. So they had a really good night last night. Hopefully fromthe rest day they come back and ride similarly well. They lead the teenclassification, which they so dearly. You know, they hold in such highprestige that teen classification. I think they're one for the last five. Isaid that in the last potty. In terms of the White Jersey, enricmasse, it's in second tumors and thirty five back. So he's probably notgoing to be able to catch pocket char in that one. Barring well, you know, I don't wish this upon him, but buying a crash orsomething, or an extreme mechanical. But yeah, you'll be on the podiumfor the White Jersey top ten and Rick Muse will probably, probably, prettymuch definitely be top ten for GC. So all in ALDs a pretty greattour for him. But yeah, will we start doing pretty well? Theyimproved this week. I think they started the tour quite slowly, didn't reallyget into the action they had to in the top twenty, but now they'rereally starting to push in the high mountains. which they always love. Next upwe've got Arka Samsick. Their team leader is Nara Kintana. He's inninth position at the moment, five minutes back on premiers rockets. So Iwas saying it about on Rinc Mass, but this is guaranteed. Now theseguys are completely out of the running. Really in fifteen they have warren byGeel his thirty two minutes back, but I do think he could be alittle bit higher, but he's kind of sacrificed himself for his team leader, which we love to see. To be honest, I've not really much gotmuch else going for them. They're doing really well until last night narrow crackedon the same mountain, that Egum, but now that I think it's called, like the Grand Columbia, but it wasn't too great for the Columbia. So unfortunately Kintana has been distance by the main GC favorites. Basically five minutesback. Don't see him winning it back. Really Pretty hard to attack when you'vegot young moversma controlling the pace the whole way up the mountains. Butyeah, we'll see how we go, how he goes. Hopefully some fireworksfrom R Qu Samsick. Maybe a few want to punches with Cantana and Barkiel, because there's not really much point settling for night. If you're going togo out, you may as well go out with a bang. So hopefullythe two or three stages after the rest day they really send it the tenand the team classification and they're not really in the running for any other classifications. They didn't have a top ten finish this week, so it's been abit of a nothing week really far. Case Sam sick till last night where, unfortunately, our man Cantana did crack. Next we got cofferdis who, similarly, gee on Martin, really struggled last night. He's had a bitof misfortune with a few mechanicals and stuff like that, but last night reallylook like he had reached his limits. He's now sitting in eleven, whichby no mean is a bad position to be at all. He's six minutesand forty five seconds back, so he could push for top ten. He'sabout a minute and a half back on Tom Tomulin. So potentially, ifa few of the other GC favorites crack in the next couple days and Martinreturns to his strong form, from earlier in the tour. He could pushfor top ten, which would be a great result for him. In termsof Coffertus, not much going on. Really not much else going on.Sorry. They've got Jesu's Harada sitting in seventh and the King of the mountainsjerseys. He is on twenty five points, so he's eleven points back on Cosnavoir, their thirteen in the team classification. In terms of stage finishes, theyhad Elia Viviani get US fourth on...

...stage ten, Hajs Furrah to geta twelve, fifth on stage twelve, Nicholas a day got a sixth onstage thirteen and Simone consowny got third on stage fourteen. So yeah, EliaViviani still question marks over here. Me Did get a fourth, so he'sobviously on the worst of form, but we'll see how he goes on.I think stage nineteen could be won by sprinter. It's a little bit hilly. Will Not Hilly, but there's like rolling hills right through from the startto the finish. But no categorize climbs, I don't believe. And then obviouslythe final stage is for the sprinters, so we'll see how he performs inthose two. But yeah, coffin, it is not much going for themnow. Really. The Martins out of the race for the Yellow Jersey. I guess he'll just try and go for top ten. Hayz is Fadamight try and make a push for that king in the Mountains Jersey, andthen Vivianni will all tensibile turn to Viviani on stage nineteen and twenty one.Next we've got any OS grenadiers. They've really fallen our last night, similarto cophetus and Ark Sam sick, was a dark night and the team's tour. Yeah, I don't know. It's a tough one. Pheneos, I'msure they are a little bit red faced at the moment. Not Saying thatyou got taking amber now. was about decision, but all the controversy overthere not taking Thomas and from and now they're going to struggle to even geta top ten with Bern all that kind of looks like they may have madethe wrong decision, or in the eyes of I'm sure, for him andThomas Anyway. So burn, I'll sit's in thirteen eight minutes. Back onRoglitch. Richard Carapaz is sixteen, but he is over thirty two minutes back. But yeah, not much going for anyos anymore burn. I'll that.I really going to let him attack. He's only eight minutes ahead behind. But yeah, we'll see how he goes in the mounds. We'll see ifhe can group it together or he just loses the plot. Like Tbopino. He's third in the White Jersey, but he is pretty much the same distanceback. There seven minutes and forty five seconds back. So that's probably outof reach as well, barring, you know, a crash or something. To the top two. The team sits in six fifty three and fifty threeminutes and thirty nine seconds back. They've had no top tens in the lastweek. So, similar to rkse Sam sick. Now that their leaders out, it's going to be interesting to see what they do. Maybe CARAPAZ hasa bit of an attack. He hasn't been set. He hasn't done toomuch really. Is kind of just been there with burn all in the end, you know when it gets down to the elite climbers. So maybe he'lldo something. But yeah, last night was just strains. So he gotdropped. Understand that, but I don't know if his legs would just completelyoff, like Tebo Pinos were will have been pretty much the whole week. But he just seemed to give up, like I genuinely don't know if hedid or not, but like Queer Kovsky was in front of him and helooked like he was like struggling to ride as slow as he could to helpnurse Bernal through that final climb. Like Queer Kovsky looks like he could havejust burnt him if he wanted to. So I don't really know what wasgoing on there. Maybe he just had had enough and realize that he wasgoing to lose, so he just thought, well, we may as well justtake it easy. But I don't know is it was just a bizarrething to see. Really. I know it's not the team sky that wasanymore, but it was still strange to see such a successful team collapse likethat. But yeah, I guess it's spices up the race, while notreally now she's young Bovisma, but yeah, something got a new champion anyway.Next up we've got BMB hotels vital concept. Their GC will not gceme man, but their main man on the GC classification is Pier Ra along. He sits an eighteen, forty one minutes behind. Pretty Mus robbed ItitchBrion Cockard sits him fourth in the Green Jersey. A hundred sixty six points. That puts him how many points back on so sam? But it's ontwo hundred and sixty nine. That puts him over a hundred points back.So he's probably out of that barring a miracle win on Stage Nineteen, stagetwenty one and maybe some misfortune to some of the others. Pierre Rolin sitsin sixth position on the POKODOT JERSEY. He's ten points back from den Micousin the foire and Pierre Rolon look really good last time in the big mountains. So maybe over the next few stages we could see him get into thebreakaway or attack, being the elite group of climbers and then make an attackand try and pick up that POKODOL JERSEY. would be great to see. AlwaysWell Ben my cousin the fires French, but I love Pierre Rolon legend ofthe sport, so it would be great to see him in the polkadots. Their team is in sixteen position in...

...the team classification. Their top ten. They've had quite a few actually. So in the stage ten they hadbrown Cockar come seven eleven. In stage eleven they had brown cock hard comeforth. Stage twelve there had still a stage twelve. They had Pierre Rolongcome second. Stage twelve, similarly, they had Quintin passire come forth andfinally, on stage thirteen they had Pierre Rolong come Fiv. So they're climbingwell, they setting up the sprints well, they're just unfortunately, Brian Cock heartis not finishing them off at the moment, which is pretty frustrating.I really like Brian Cockard. I think he's good, but he's just notthe elite level where it can win stages in the tour of France. Why? I don't even know if he's one of professional stage in which is whatI was saying on the broadcast. But yeah, we'll see if he canbreak that duck and stage nineteen or twenty one would be pretty cool for himto break that duck on the sham's Alez A, but we'll see. Nextup we've got, as you deserve, La Mondell. The big news obviouslyfor this team. Roman bard a crashed out. Unfortunately he has concussion followinghe had concussion following a crash, so he either didn't finish stage thirteen ordidn't start stage fourteen. I don't know what it was specifically. And thenPierre La tour, also for this team, crash down stage fourteen. So it'sa bit of a tumultuous period for as you deserve. Their top menon the GC classification is Mikael Cherrell. He sits in twenty three, overan hour back on promos rock lache. I guess. Now the main thingfor them has been while cloth the foir. He is in first thirty six points, and second in that competition is not peters, with thirty one pointson the same team. So we'll see what they can do. You'd thinkhe'll be in the breaks for the next two days and if you get throughthat's pretty much guaranteed it right through to Paris. There in eighth and theteam classification, which is pretty decent from as you deserve. And then thetop tens that've had. Clement Venturini came fifth and stage eleven. Oliver Arsoncame ninth and eighth in Stage Eleven and fourteen respectively. So he might belooking at stage nineteen in particular. He might have a crack on stage twentyone, but I'm not sure if he has the pace for that. Butyeah, stage stage nineteen might suit him, with a little bit of a tougherfinish the other French. Well then, next French team we are tackling isgroup Hamer fdj. Their top man is Balanin. Matter was on.He is coming twenty nine, an hour and twenty minutes back. On ProMISRock Ledge, he sits in fourth on in the White Jersey. So notabout effort from him. You Young Rider, Da have a good, a goodO. sits in seventh in that classification, but he's obviously not reallyin contention. He's almost two hours back. Well, so as matters, he'sover an hour back, but still good effort from then. They're intwelve in the team classification, which isn't bad considering how poorly their leader haswritten. Sebastian Rock and back came eighth on stage twelve and Valentin Mattawas camefourth on stage thirteen. But yeah, the main story for group I'm FDJis that Tibo Pino willly cracked before we recorded last week's episode and sadly hejust has not returned to form. Hopefully the rest a sorts amount in hecould maybe being a breakaway in the next couple stages and have a crack ata win or some poked up points. But yeah, it's just been ato it of France to forget really for Tippo Pino, and it's going tobe interesting to see what group I'm fdj do now. They've really set theirteam up around him. And I know Demar, but for GC Pinos, basically they're only man really, and I hate to be rude, but he'sjust failed time after time after time really in the in the GRUND tours anyway. And Yeah, he's just had so much expectation on them, which mustbe very tough to deal with. But he has not done it very well, to be honest. And groupartmer FDJ must be thinking what do we donow, because, like, do they move on from Tbopino, or dothey put him in a different role? Do they target one day races withPino? So it'll be interesting to see what they do, because he's gettingolder now and you would think he's past his prime. Next I've got borerHans Grow. They're basically in this for one reason. They're competing for theGreen Jersey, but the rest of the saguns kind of just a lone wolfreally, as he always is. So the rest of the team's kind ofjust doing their own thing. Emmanuel Bookman there will he was there, GCguy, but he's not really in contention, is he? With an hour andtwenty four minutes back, he's in thirty three Green Jersey. Peter Cigarsits in second. He's on to twenty four points, so he is underfifty points behind Sam Bennett. The next...

...two stages are going to be reallyimportant for Peter Sagun. He will struggle to beat Sam Bennett on stage ofnineteen and twenty one. And then I don't think there's Green Jersey new pointsup for grabs on the time trial. So saygun really needs to pick upthe points in the mountains where Bennett is a lot more vulnerable, especially comparedto say gone. So it's going to be a big two or three stagescoming up for him to see if he can win. He's Eighth Green Jersey, which would just be incredible. Elsewhere in the team they've got Leonard CamNassing in eighth and the White Jersey. But, as I said before, with group Palm fdj almost two hours back. So pretty relevant. Fourteen and theteam classification. In terms of top ten finishes, they had quite afew. Actually they caused a lot of carn in this week. Peter Saguncame third and stage ten, as expected. Stage twelve, Maximilian Shakman came sixth. Stage Thirteen, Leonard Kamna came second and Maximilian Shakman came third. So backtoback podiums for Shaq or backtoback top tens for Shaq Man. That's impressive. And as stage fourteen, Peter Sagon came fourth in that somewhere breakaway victory. So yeah, they're doing pretty well. Gregor melburger crash down on stage eleven, but apart from that they're looking the goods. Quite a few toptens and they're causing havoc up the up the front with somewhere pretty much everyday and saguns attack in that Green Jersey. I think he made quite a fewpoint. Got Quite a few points back on Bennett and I have tosay I successfully predicted the Bennett would hold it come this episode and say gunhad it at the time it last recording. So I'm pretty impressive myself there. To be honest, I still think saga or I don't know, he'sgoing to go home with it. To be honest. It's going to bevery, very close, but I'm really looking to see, looking forward seeinghow, say, gun picks up his points in the mountains. NEXT UPWE'VE GOT ISRAEL START UP nation, their top GC guys. Demn Martin,he's in thirty five, an hour and twenty five minutes and ten seconds back. He's actually not dropped much time, but on Roglitch in the last week, which is kind of impressive. And Dem Mane he was started the weekan hour and five minutes back and he's now an hour and twenty five backs, so he's only dropped twenty minutes, which is quite impressive. They're eighteenand team classification. Nothing special. They're top tens. Andre Garpel came sixthon stage ten and she go. Hofsteader came eight on stage eleven. Butyeah, no offense to Israel start up nation, pretty mythical team in thisyear's tour. They haven't been in many breaks, it has to be said. If you go hofsteed is really impressed me. That is on stage eleven. He got his fourth top ten finish. So we're seeing you know so wellbe in quotation marks. Superstars of the sport like Briwn Cockr and casebowl really struggling to even get top fives, let alone wins, and Hofstead arein a lot weak it. Ten seam not so much set up aroundhim. He's whipped out for top ten. So really impressive. Now next upwe've got totailed direct energy. Their top GC guys Romans CICARD. Heis an hour and twenty eight minutes back. He sits in thirty six. Theirteam is twenty one. So second last and that classification. They hadno top tens. They're not on the top ten in any jersey. Sono offense to them and probably just going to move on because they're pretty irrelevantand just quietly. I'm not sure why they are the same colors as FDJ. That is really confusing to me. But yet next I got to coina quick step. Julian Al Phillipe sits in forty and hour and thirty sevenback on rock litch. Then in the Green Jersey, as I keep mentioning, it's Sam Bennett, so he is on. To coin a quick SNEP. He is on two hundred sixty nine points. Then Nikol Murko, Merkuor Merkov, I don't know how to say that, name, a hundredand twelve points. It's in seventh, and our the Phillips, it's aneighth, on a hundred eight points. They're seventeen and teen classification. They'retwo top tens. This week came from Bennett in Stage ten eleven, wherehe got first and second respectively in his jewels against Caleb you and and PeterSaga. Julian l Philippe looks really busy at the moment. It would notshock me if he whips out a win in the next two or three stages. He is really been busy. Is Getting into breaks his attacking. Unfortunately, he's reputation is harming him a little bit. Everyone knows how quick heis, so no one wants to work with him because they know he'll burnthe sprint. I think that happened on the day Mark Hershey one. Hewas trying to you know, there was about a pack of twenty of them. He was trying to break away with two or three to chase down her. She and know I wanted to go with him because they knew if hetook him to the line, they were...

...just going to beat him. Butyeah, hopefully we see some fireworks. Male Philipe and I'll be interesting. You See Bennett, v Saygun and even you. And in the last inStage Nineteen and Twenty One CCC teams, which will see? Team, Ican't lie, they've been pretty average BMC. FORMERLY BMC were historically one of thebiggest teams. They were heavily sponsored. They won two to Frances with CadelEvans. They were always very good, always very busy in the races. But this year, I can't lie, they are very irrelevant. Team.Greg Van Alvamart is top in the yellow standings. For them is inforty one and Aaron Forty back. It's her Trenton is third and the GreenJersey. He's on a hundred eighty nine points, so he's less than ahundred back on Sam Bennett. But I'll be honest, I think you mightfall away, depending how but he might go in a few breakways in thenext two stages which could see him wrap up that protium position. Their fifteenin the team classification. They had two top tens this week. Simon guestgo came seventh, but Teyo trenting came seventh on stage thirteen and fourteen respectively. Unfortunately, illness. Zaccherin probably their most talented to climber. He crashedand stage twelve, so that didn't help them in terms of relevance in forthe mountain stages. But yeah, I guess we'll see how trenting goes.He could actually help Bennett if he takes points away from saga in the mountains. But yet that's about as interesting is CCC get this year. Helping out. Second place will first place in the Green Jersey in on another team, second last or third last team. We've got some web having a bit ofa strange one. They don't really have anyone competing for jerseys as such, but they're having really good successes on stages. So the top guy in the generalclassification is seen Kraig Anderson, sitting in fifty seven to over two hoursback. Mark Her sheey is in fifth, the killer king the mountains. Iguess you could say he's in contention there, but I'd say I don'tknow exactly how he's feeling, but he looks surely he's pretty spent. Ithink he's been in four or five breakways and he's been killing it all orfought night really. So he's only five points back on coseing the fly, though, so that might be, in my enough motivation to keep him going. Her she also sits in the top ten in the White Jersey, butit's a long way back. As I said, they don't really have anyGC guys, certain gent in teen classification, their nineteen, but top tens, this is where they absolutely killed it this week. I think they mighthave had more than track Sega Fredo did in the first week, which isvery impressive. Case Bowl came eight and stage ten. Mark her she camefirst on stage twelve. Seen Craig Anderson came third on stage twelve. NicholasRoach came ten on stage twelve. Seen Craig Anderson came first on stage fourteen, Casper Pettison came fifth on stage fourteen and mark here she came ten onstage fourteen. How impressive is that? So I think I don't know whotheir director sport teeth is, but he's putting on a bit of a clinicthere with some tactical master classes on show, especially on stage fourteen. With thatto colobate breakaway victory. But yeah, somewhere they're doing quite well. It'sa bit of a weird one. As I said, they're not reallyrelevant to many jerseys, but on the not so much the huge amountain ofstages, but on the hilly stage is they're quite lethal. Case Bowl isprobably letting them down a little bit. They've had some great lead out trainsand he is struggle to even crack the top ten. Well in this weekanyway. He was decent in the first few days, but we'll see howhe goes on Stage Nineteen and twenty one. Second last we got lot to sodull Thomas again is their main man and GC sits in sixty three.Caleb view and in on the Green Jerseys and five at a hundred and fiftyeight points. So he's probably too far back to contender. He will beright in there for the stage victory on Stage Nineteen and twenty one. Teenclassification, they said, and last, but that's because they're reduced out tofive riders. Top tens. You and had a stage when on stage elevencame second on stage ten. So I think, Caleb, you and it'sprobably been one of the most impressive riders this to our he's only got fourmen to support him on the flat stages and he is beating the best whohave full lead at trends and everything. So well done to Caleb. Hiswriting awesome. I love him, I love watching him sprint. But yetthat's all a lot of sort of dollar good for. Really. It's beena caleb on the flat stages. It will be interesting to see if Thomasto gent can do anything in the next...

...few mountain stages. Finally, we'vegot NTT pro cycling. Without being disrespectful, they're probably had a tow of France. To forget Michael Valger and sits in sixty seven, and GC,two and a half hours behind Michael, Google, sits in ninth on theKing of the mountains, twelve back on Ben Nar Ben Whit cousin the whoitheir twenty in the team classification. Ryan Gibbons produced their only top ten thisweek with ten on stage eleven. But yeah, the real story of thetour is Yuckamo need solo crashing out stage eight, Dominico pots of vivers classcrashing out stage nine. And they were by far and away their most talentedriders, probably next to Ed Val Boston Hagin, who might target stage nineteen. He loves those, you know, kind of little hilly stages. Butyeah, that's it for the teens for this week. Now we'll get intoa bit of a preview and prediction for this final week. As far aspredictions go with the jerseys, I don't want to be boring, but it'sgot to be Premios Rock, which doesn't it for the Yellow Jersey. He'sgot a forty four second lead. His team's invincible. He's a time talltime trial specialist and there's one coming up on the second last stage. Ijust don't see where that he slips up from here. The only chance isone day he magically just blows up or he has a mechanical lateness stage andpocket chart takes advantage of that, but I just don't see it happening.Unfortunately, he's forty seconds up. Sorry. It would be pretty special if pogetchI could win at the age of twenty one and I'd love to seeit, but I think you might have to bide his time and wait behindrock glitch. In terms of the podium, I do think poget child will staysecond unless he just lives and dies by the sword and tries to attackrock glitch on the last couple mountains stages rather than just settling for second.Could see and blow up and maybe someone in, you know, fourth orfifth could move into that pardium position. But I think, like if youhad to put your money somewhere, you'd probably go the Rock Butts pocket childone too. They've been the clear standouts this to it. Of France. In terms of third, I'll be honest. I don't think Rigoberto run will finishthird. He looked not as good as some of the others on theclimb on stage fifteen. He got dropped in the end lost about fifteen seconds. So I'm going to go I'd love to say Richie Porters and Ozzy, but I'm going to say Miguel and Lopez. He's a pretty good time trial listand he's been really riding really well in the last few days and histeam's looking in good form now. They started the race a little bit slow, but I'm luking me go Anga Lopez and yeah for a third, whichwould be pretty impressive. I don't think I've any other pretty outrageous shouts interms of the top ten or anything like that in terms of the Green Jersey, I think I'm going to go Sam Benett. I'd love to see Petersagarn would an eighth. I'm not normally one of those guys who loves likelegends of the Sport, like you know, Lewis Hamilton's, Roger Fedrews, LebronJames has, but I'd normally go for the underdog. But I genuinelydo really like Peter Sagon and I would like to see him when he's eighth, Jersey would be called a witness, like a arcuably one of the goatsat the sport. I'm, you know, just compile a ridiculous list of achievements, but I think Sam Bennett will get it this year. He's leadright now is just under fifty points. I think on Stage Nineteen and stagetwenty one he'll be too good on the bunch sprints and I'm not sure ifPega say Peter say gun. Well, we'll find out pretty soon. Basically, on stage sixteen, Seventeen and eighteen, Saygun has to be ahead of SamBennett. If he's going to stage nineteen behind him, there's no chancehe'll catch him. I don't reckon barring a Sam Benett mechanical or crash late. But yeah, I'm liking Bennett for green over Sagin in terms of theking of the mountains, I do definitely think it could just be pocket CharRobblich. I don't know if in the next three stages there's summit finishes orthere's just climbs through our but in terms of the king of the mountains orI'm going to back in Pierre Rolong. I think her. She could alsobe in there with the chance, but I'm going to say Pierre Rolon. He's ten points behind but he looked really impressive the last few days in theclimbs White Jersey. I think will be pocket ch are quite comfortably. Enricmass is two minutes and thirty five seconds apart pocket Charet, so I thinkhe'll do that comfortably. I think I'll be the podium, though. Pocketshare mass and burn all forces like an hour back, so it's not evenin contention really. But yeah, in the team classification, or this isreally just guess work, but treks Seger...

...for they were they've dropped down tofifth. If procycling there and third they could challenge for it. But you'vegot it back in Molly Star marks, alert, enric mass leandre Val Verde. They're too strong. I can't see why they would drop it. Actually, now I'll go Yabo visma. They're got sensational depth the right through theeight riders and got some great climbers, so I back them in some greattime trials as well. Maybe start might lack a little bit on that front. So I got Yambo BISMA and deserpitely. So they've been the best team allrace. But yeah, that's pretty much it from me. Really lookingforward to the final week. I'm excited to see you know, you andversus Bennett maybe on Stage Nineteen and twenty one. Maybe some outside hopes onthose ones. Cock hard case bowlder. They have come up unlucky so far. Well, maybe not unlucky, maybe just not good enough so far.But we'll see how they go. And Yeah, we'll see if maybe aFrench hopeful Juliana for leap Tibo Pino could get a big stage win in themountains peer along. But yeah, thanks for tuning in. Like subscribe,Rate Review. That good stuff. I appreciate you listening this far and we'llhave a end of Tour de France review coming out next week. See.
