Hello and welcome back to episode a hundred and thirty one. So there's been a bit of a mix up of the numbers, but it is a hundred thirty one on spotify now. I pretty sure there was an afl episode that I didn't end up posting because it was like just put up too late. So that's why the last couple episodes the numbers have been off a little bit. But I'm here today just to have a bit of a spit ball episode with you. I actually haven't prepared anything today. I'm just going to be talking off the top of my dome. I'm going to be chatting about magic round the week that was also going to talk a little bit about, well, a lot about the upcoming week. Maybe a little bit about an rl fantasy as well. I haven't talked about that too much, but I talked a lot about super coach on the AFL one, so I thought May as well talk about N R'l fancy on here and then I will. I'll set I was going to do my Queensland team this week. I'm going to do that next week. Feel free to check out my New South Wales team. I'm going to try and put that up as a clip on Youtube and instagram and facebook, but if not, it's in the middle of the last nurl episode and in general, I'm going to try and put up more clips of the episodes moving forward because they seem to be enjoyed by all our so just think about last week. Obviously got to address the big issue, the crackdown on head high shots, and I'll be honest, I think a lot of people are against it. It's hard to know because there's always vocal minorities and whatnot in with social media these days, but I'm all for it. Look, I'll admit there was maybe a couple too many Simmons, but I think that will happen with every rule change. The first couple weeks will be drastic changes and then all of a sudden the referees will calm down a little bit, the players will learn that it's not on, coaches will ensure that their...

...players don't do it as much because they don't want to lose a player to seem in or sending offs. So yeah, I think it was fourteen or something all up. I see mens and sendoffs. I don't think we'll see that number ever again, but I'm all for it. A lot of them were very fair. There are a couple that were stiff. Couple come to mind like, yeah, Tyson Gamble, just got him a little bit high. I think Josh McGuire's bounced off the ball a little bit. But so there was a couple like that that I think we're a little bit unlucky. But I've been a long advocate of the Sin Min long term advocate. I think it hasn't been utilized enough and to be honest, I think we saw on the weekend losing one player in a rugby league game is actually not that big of a difference for ten minutes. A lot of the times we see the team with twelve men scoring tries. I think current member which game was, but they scored a couple times, I think, with twelve men. I think the raiders had to come back with eleven players. So it's not the end of the day if you get to Simmin. So I don't think why. I don't understand why everyone acts like it's the end of the world. And yes, sendoffs are important for a game, but I have to say I think every single send off was extremely fair. Pop Al He's was extremely dangerous. CONT heavy contact to the head Esa says was just ridiculous, jumping out of the line to be like Chad Townsend's last year on Calen pomer and then, I'll be honest, I actually forgotten the other ones. I think there was three or four maybe, but from all I remembers, all the sendoffs I saw were fair. So I'm okay with that and I don't think there's been enough sendoffs in the last ten years. So I'm glad for that to be brought in because foul play should be punished because, for example, oh that's it to rail Fu manner. That was fair. Ted paven housing goes out for the whole game regularly in a normal round full man, and would go and report, maybe get he would get penalized, maybe get Simm in. But if he only got penalized in and put on report,...

...the store lose their best player. Well, I could be their best player and they actually have to play the rest of the game with sixteen men or I don't know the new rulers, but maybe seventeen men. But they're you know, they're paping house and down. So to stop that, those kind of dog arts, I think it's a very good crackdown and as I mentioned. I just think we all need to calm down. I think this week there's no way we'll see fourteen SIDM in sendoffs. I wouldn't care if there was, though, and I think the dinosaurs who look I'm okay if everyone have their opinion, but the dinosaurs like, I think, Mike Guy I came on and said, like you have, see's the fastest growing sport in the world, so we need to keep this violence in our game. It's like headi shots have ever been allowed. So I'm not sure what he's on. There's we meant to allow head high shots like it's strange call there. So I think the dinosaurs like that in the media need to get over themselves. I understand if you think it's too many because, look, I probably tend to agree. And let's be real, that's not going to happen in the origin game, is they they're just not going to seem in or send off four or five people. But, as I mentioned before, I don't think Sim wins at the end of the world. I think if they used this is my theory about pretty much every debate in NRL. If it's the same for all sixteen teams, I don't think it really matters that much. Will get used to it. They're protecting the players heads, which is good. It'll lower the number of concussions, lower the number of teams that are down to sixteen men for the whole game and I think ultimately it's going to be good for the game. And yes, that'll be a little bit of a I forget the term, but you know, they'll be a little bit of a process to get used to it, but I think that's really it's a good thing and add magic around. We saw the crowds absolutely love the seaman's and sendoffs as a new true I absolutely love it myself go off every time there is one. So in a good way, I mean. But...

...magic ground. As a whole, I think it was a huge success. Once again, it's probably the highlight of the NL calendar other than origin. For me personally, apart from finals, it's probably hard to be even better than finals. Like even not being there at the ground. I have to get there one year though. It looks so fun. But even being at home in Melbourne like I made more of an conscious effort to get home to watch the Games because I know that the atmosphere was going to be good. is going to be electric games. And Yeah, I just think magic around to from to so far big successes, great innovation from the Super League that the NL has adopted and I think it's here to stay for the rest of time. And I think they should start to look at Adda Brendld said it after their game, and I think they should start to look at doing two to three year now. You we you don't oversaturate it just because you've found a good thing. You don't want to ruin it. But I just think having one early in the first six rounds, having one, you know, around around twelve, just before origin, and then having a one at the back end of the year after origin to get the camp up and going again. I can't see why that can't be a huge success. The main thing is that they're not like every second week, and picking the locations will be important, because there's no point in doing it somewhere where where you weren't, you know, get eighty percent plus at the games, because then all just be a dead atmosphere and that's the whole point of Magic Ram really. But yeah, so cool to see every Jersey under the sun represented in the crown. Everyone look like they're having a fun time. So yeah, match around huge success, while up to the NRL, great thing. They brought in in two thousand and nineteen. Going to be back in Brisbane next year and wouldn't mind seeing them adding a second one or even a third one to the calendar down the line. Are so that's it in terms of the general talk. In terms of some of the performances I'd like to highlight, I thought...

...the Tigers were pretty good. Night's disappointing yet again. They've had a really, really bad start to the year and quite frankly, I do not empty out of my Bradze position. Moving into the Friday primetime game, manly put on an absolute clinic against the broncos. Watch the den and Kemp bloken a bar fully and friends with the Hollow Sport Boys on this. It was an absolute piece O and seagulls pumped them and they look like a genuine top for contender at this point. Like I know it's only been a month of good form, but the way they're playing it looks like, apart from the storm or Pendrith, they could be the the most informed team outside those big two. But yeah, broccos, a little bit disappointing, like it has been really since the start of two thousand and nineteen. They take one step forward, two steps back, so that they undid their hard work of the last couple weeks of looking solid. The raiders got their win, were down to elevenmit men at times, with polium wide off the field. The bulldogs almost got to win. Pretty shattering lost for them, but the rates season stays alive, you'd have to say. I think if they lost to the bulldogs I'd all but rule them out of top six contention, let alone top eight. So yeah, big win for the raiders and they've got another tough thin. It's a storm this week, but you know, as long as they keep picking up points, you never know, they could hit form late in the season and be the raiders of old. Next game was a pretty exciting one. Sharks came back from I think three, three or four tries to one. Rabbit has ended up being too good, as they have been in most games in the last month, just out classing their opponent, but nothing special. They've got a really big test though, this week. Latreulle comes back from injury and that they've basically got no excuses left they've got a couple injuries here or there, but every team does. And they're up against the mighty penrith panthers who are on an unbelievable run a form and if the rabbitos...

...are going to announce himself is true premiership contenders, this is the game to do it. They've got all the stars they need. And look if they get blown out by Penrith, I'm willing to just called to two horse race at this point. So yeah, big test for the RABBITOS. The roosters saw off the cowboys can was actually like a genuinely good team at this point. I think Todd Payton looks like an amazing coach what he did with the warriors last year. We've kind of even though the warriors more exciting this year. We've kind of seen them take a bit of a step back in terms of ball security and stuff like that. He's now got his cowboys to become a really solid team with a bit of an outside chance of top eight, of a top eight finished. Rooster's too good. Too many good players on the field out class them as they genuinely do. Other eels beat the warriors. This was a pretty exciting game. Obviously Jacob Arthur's debut, riest Walsh was cutting sick. The warriors looked woful until he played so interesting that they've left him on the bench this week, but I do understand it. He's only young. I really like the warriors. I thought they were a chance to upset this one, but the eels were too good too early. But I do have alarm bells about the EELS. I do fear for them that it's just going to be another season of dominant regular season victories and then they get to finals and they're just a long way off where they need to be. And if they don't start to you know they just need a very up their attack. The only way they move forward at the moment is through care ambukul our, Dathan Brown, Shawn Lane and jout. Junior Pulo offloads pretty much, which is a very good recipe to be bad teams. For examples, like the Tigers. We can never get a glove on the eagles, but against the storm panthers they're going to wrap up the balls and those tackles and all of a sudden the points are going to dry up. We saw it last week against the roosters. They had to basically take out half their team to get the victory there. So I don't want to crap on eels fans. are on a good run of form in terms of the ladder,...

...but I do fear for them that they're not really taking the steps they need to become a true premiership challenger. I but yeah, disappointing from the warriors to go down so early, but good fight back storm took for the dragons. That really much. To mention their dragons a lot of players out this week. I think they're lost three through suspension, but the storm would just Almighty even without Papa House and Niko hides are shown. He's probably one of the best players that's not starting in a team the competition that. You'd have to say. Really excited to see where he goes or if he stays. I think it was break God Michael Ennis said he should stay, but I want to see him go somewhere. I never like to see great players on the bench or in the reserves. You know, you just want to see what they can do at another club. And then the panthers absolutely tore apart of the Times. Disappointing from the Times. I thought they would put up a bit of a fight here to round off badge of ground, but the panthers were too good. So that sums up round ten of the of the competition. I'll chat a little bit about fantasy before we get into round eleven and my predictions. Disappointing a week, though, for fantasy, for my team. I'll be honest. I've been complete. I know a lot of people have caught the same injuries and stuff, but I've been completely dog by injuries. It take me back two weeks. I think I had how many players are the there's twenty one players in just side. I think I had nineteen players starting like playing in their teams. I think I only two hours. And then last week I ended up with a full interchange in emergencies of DMPS. So yeah, last week's team changes really dogged me. This week I've copped even more. Paper House its injured jet again. None of my team has come back from injury. Brought and Publi and he dished up the worst score of his season. Tot Oh similar he gave me twenty three. So that was really frustrating. Now peaching current are suspended and injured respectively.

So right now, as we speak, I can't even put up a full starting side of thirteen before trades, and I've traded pretty much used all my trade. So yeah, it's not looking good for me. I dropped around seven thousand last week because I had to think three doughnuts, and this week I'm going to drop even more because I'm about four donuts. So yeah, it's not looking good for me and at this point it's very tempting to pull the pin, but we'll keep fighting for now. I can't lie. I swear I've got rotten luck in fantasy spot. I'm sure everyone thinks of this, but if you listen to my AFL's super coach chats, I've copped a lot of stiff luck there. But Yeah, look, probably going to look on, to move, look to move on, maybe a fifeed are not sure how I think of him. And then, yeah, I don't really know I'm going to do it this point. I still got you, Takomaro and Simpkin, who got dropped last week, so we'll see how we go. But yeah, going to be scraping to get thirteen on the park this week, which really sucks because it doesn't mean my team's bad, just means my team's not healthy. Okay, so this is a bit of a shorter one. There's not a youtube video either. I should have mentioned that earlier, but just banging them this out quickly on Thursday, looking at the NRRL odds. Now I'll go through my tips. So first of all we have a rotten game tonight. Cowboys nights not interested in this at all. A Queensad Country Bank nights full strength. I probably tip the nights, but with their injury list I will be tipping the cowboys. Their recent forms been very, very solid. took it to the roosters last week and before the lat the one like four in the last five or something like that. So I think they would be too good at home. They're paying all forty seven on sport with sports bet. If any betting company was to Sponsorby, feel free, but will your sports bet for now. So yeah, the cowboys. I think they should be. The nights then have a great team on papers always, but I don't think they have that x factor without I don't think they have been x factor without ponger piece and best. So I'm going the...

...cowboys. Next, the Friday six o'clock game, Warriors Tigers. Tags had a great win last week, but I will be going the warriors. I think some of their I think some of their losses have been very respectable. The warries this year. They've lost games to good teams and they've put up a fighting spirit. Like the storm. I don't they lost by twenty points, but they put up twenty points against the storm, put up twenty points against the eels, so they can score points. Tigers can't defend, despite defending well last week, and I just think they might be too good of an outfit their due win. They're paying at all fifty two on sports bets. I'll go the warriors. Next up, sharks dragons full strength. Like I mentioned early with the Cowboys Knights, I would have tipped the dragons, but the dragons outs are just too much to bear. You know, half their team's missing. This week in particular, they had McGuire, dufty, Rabel hour, Sims fum are and is out. WHO's half their starting lineup. Cody Ramsy's playing fullback. I just think the sharks, they're very they need to win. They're going to win at some stage. I don't want them to win, but yeah, if they're going to win, it's going to be this week against the dragons. Bit of a local Derby and they are playing at the dragons home ground for an at home game. But yeah, I think that even though the dragons are a better team, I think the sharks will win. And that is also favorite pick, which I'm the kind of surprised at. But I think dragons are solid value at two goals ninety to be honest. Next Got Times Canterbury. Just think times will be too classy. They're not playing great right now, but their defense is awful. But thankfully the bulldogs can't really score many points, so I think they'll be too good there. Then next up roosters broncos. Similar sort of one to the last one. I think the roosters will just be too classy. They're do a really good performance. They've been playing solidly with their injury crisis, but I think they're do a really good, classy performance. They like to play well at the SCG. Broncos are out of form and I think...

...they will whip them. Very interesting to see how Albert Kelly goes in his return to the NRL, though. The roosters are packing dollar is seven, so heavy favorites. Next we've got the raiders versus a storm. Last year this would have been probably gave me the year. But the Rangers without Jack White and Josh per pali, Josh Hodson against in really at bad form against the storm. I just can't see them winning. This would be upset of the season if they do storm paying at old twelve without papenhouse and without monster, without Harry Grant. But I think they will just be too good, like they were last week. But I don't know. I never like to ride off the route the raiders, but yeah, I don't think I can tip them. Rabbitos and the panthers. This is game of the week for short two PM kickoff in Dubbo on Sunday. Look, you've got a tip panthers, but I think the rabbitos are a sneaky chance. The Panthers of hanging a doll thirty one, but the rabbitos back to almost full strength. Out of form, but I think this will be there. This is the kind of game they have to make a statement in if they want to be considered a serious premiership contender. I will be tipping the panthers, but I think it's going to be a lot more competitive than we some may think and realistically the Rabbitos need to play well, otherwise their dogs. And then last this is probably game of the week. I know I just said that, but the EELS seagulls. I've actually gone the SEAGULLS. I don't like tipping against the EELS OF BANQUETS because they don't lose. But manly are in such good form and what I've seen of paramount in the last two weeks. Although they've had wins against decent teams, I don't think they're playing scintillating football. I think the two reliant on their big men and I think the form that Tommy turbot and the seagulls in, I think they is seriously good chances to...

...upset this eels team. I did tip against the SEAGULLS. Why didn't tip against it? But I thought they might have lost last week. They are due about performance, but they're so hot I don't know if they're going to cool down anytime soon. So I'm actually backing in the manly seagulls there. Yeah, so that's the end of my predictions. It's just been a really quick episode here. I've just filmed it on Thursday afternoon, just wanted to get something up for you before the weekend and I'm going to try and post some clips of previous episodes to keep the nral content going over the weekend, but we'll see how I go with that. But yeah, should be a good round, fair few good Games. Really enjoyed magic round there my main takeaways. My NRL fantasy team, HMM, is in struggles. So is my throat, as you can hear. But stay tuned for a lot more NRL content. Looking forward to origin, looking forward to picking my Queensland team last week and yeah, just stay tuned for a lot more, a lot bigger and better things coming in this space, especially as uni starts to wind down now. I know it's exam soon, but it's a lot less, you know, nine hundred twenty five work. So yeah, looking forward to it. Should be able to put out a lot more interesting content for you guys. Probably going to put up some more soccer content, cycling tennis whenever I can get into I've realized that I have a three sport Maximin so right now I'm into an lafl and soccer and the euros are coming, so that might not change for a little bit, but we'll see what I can try and do. I be yet. Thanks for tuning in as always, catching next week or tune into my stuff on the weekend. Enjoy the round of footy Joey weekend and stay safe. Cheers.
