Live Sporting Events - Episode 25

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Christian returns to the show, alongside Hamish, to discuss their favourite sporting events that they've attended live.

Welcome back to the honorble podcasttoday this is episode. Twenty five, I think so quarter of percent Corte CenturyHalf of the half century so wouldn't quite raise the bat yet, but in juniorcricket I would have been happy with the twenty five, so ges, that'ssomething come on to comeo today we're trying something bitdifferent. We are also filming this podcast. So Iwas actually thinking of before couple days ago may be trying to get us onYoutube, because you know why not try and spread it across more platform, sowe're giving that a crack today, who knows it might not fabricate theremight be no youtute video out when you're listening to this, but we'llgive the crap we'll see how it goes so yeah just quickly. I want to talkabout some things before we get into today's episode. I just want to quicklyshout out our social media accounts. I usually leave it to like the fiftyninth minute to do it and at that point there's no, not many people listeningso probably should do it earlier, so we're on twiter, instagram and facebookso get around us on twitter and Instagram, with very active facebook.Less so, but that's more for people who a you know, don't get around twitterinstagram that much but definitely get around the twitter and instagramaccounts. We are posting like at least once a day,so yeah go support that and yeah that's pretty much whall. I'vegot to say on that. So today, I'm joined by piltureChristian welcome back mate thanks rigt. How are we yeah good? I'm pretty good.Actually, it's good! It's good to you good to see hour relationship hasn'ttaken a tern for the worse after we finished our projects on Friday. That was worthforty percent. We did that together, but good to see we're still on talkingterms, still still loving. The fact that you carriedme in that project now man you've done about you've done about ninety percentof it. That's a good tea, but don't don't dogyourself like that anyway. So today it's a bit similar tothe first episode. We did so the first episode. We did favorite sportingmoments and when we were doing that, I was kind of thinking. There's like acategory, I'm not sure what word there is to describe it. But the word I'vechosen is events so favorite sporting events, because when I did the momentsthere was a few where I was thinking of them, but they didn't quite they wern't,like short enough for a moment, so I thought maybe someway down the track. We can do an eventsthing and that's what brings us here today so probably should quickly just discusswhat we thought about the term event. So when I was doing my list, I was kindof thinking things that happen not ofnot often, so I think the most regularly occurringthing. I've got in my list of like twenty that I made was the state oforigin, which happens three times a year, but there's nothing more thanthat. We narrowed it down to. We've have tohave gone to the event life because otherwise you genuinely could pick likeany soccer rivalry. Any final of any competition in the world would havebeen pretty tough to narrow down. So we have gone with events that wehave been Thoh live. Did you have any issues with the definition of event? PILCH? Well, it's a pretty broad word, Isuppose evets, but I think I've gone similar with you, like anything that occurs like just aregular AFL match that was. I didn't include that sort of thing for me, buta specific fixjur that happens maybe once a year, then I I included that asan event, because it's been more special as well yeah, maybe so like anevent, is something that you know they put a bit of promotion behind. It will often have a name like, forexample, the showdown which is outelabers portoutlaid. The Way I putinto terms is like in the AFL and nrl the grand finals and event anzacnes anevent like the rivalries or events, but thenyour regular around seventeen match...

...between Melbourne West Coast or SaintGeorge and Brisbin, like that's on the vent, that's just a match, so yep th itmight be a little bit confusing, but once we start to talk, throughour topfives it'll, definitely clear itself up. I think, there's a clear distinctionbetween what we're talking about and like moments and stuff like that, were there any things that were closeto your top five that didn't quite make it well, personally, not really. Iactually struggled to come up with the top five at all, but I have got there. What about yourself yeah, I similar to with the moment sing. I just made likea huge list of all the things that could be in contention the things thatjust missed out the other year as fortunate enough togo on a boat for the Sydney to harbor yact race. I wasn't competing in in theYano. I was like oin a spectator boat and you just what do you? What is the verb for a boat moving? Isit to dry Bor sailing yeah? We'll say we sailed we'llsay we SALL EV, though the boat had like a engine Sion now, but we sai likea longside, the yachts till they, you know, left the heads of Sydney Harborand that was pretty amazing just being up closer Pertson likesometimes we would dead, set three meters away and you could like o asudden dos but like if you wanted, you could a like spit on the bloks Yeawa. You would think about doing thatwhen you met now, not quite wouldn't saying thatmuch of a dog but yeah. So that was a really cool moment.I was with my extended family on my Dad's side. Wut, probably made a bitmore special as well and yet n. It was really cool. Another thing that wasclose was the men's Cricket World Cup Yep, namely Tho, wo thousand and fifteen one,as that's the only one I've been to Granit an you went to the final, and Ithink that probably limited its chance of becoming finishing in the top five, because Ionly went to one match the match was not great. The atmosphere was alesome.Ninety five sand whaever it was full MCG. A lot of people on for Australiaare but yeah that didn't quite make it forme and then twoand more. I just like toICA mention the ashes. I've been to maybe three ashes over all that'salways a blast, and then this is a really weird one, but there's a sincle, the beach cricket trynations and it was held around beaches inAustralia for the first season and an the secondtwo seasons. It was only in Colin Godop, which is a beach on the goal coast andme and my family and our family friends. We went every year and it was Australia,es new zeal and ferst South Africa. I think Westindes might have been in aone year and like Steve War played in it like Shan Pulok played in it like therewas hise genuine, like international criketas playing in it. It was likefour Vfour beach cricket or SOMTING. I think think I remember watching. I don't know if it was that exacttournament or whatever but ive. I remember watching beach crigget on TVyeah, maybe eight years ago, or something yeah, and we were in the crowd and like ifthey hget the ball over this fence. For six, which was only like twenty meters, you could keep he ball if you caulhedit and like I was some of the like. That was such fun. Memories like weused to try and take screamers and stuff, and it was good fun. Did youcatch a ball yeah? We ended up like with fifteen balls or like those kindof Backour, creaballs yeah, so that they're, just somehonorable mentions. So if we just run NTO our top five I'll start, becausewhy not? Actually, you can. You can start mebecause I've been talking for a lot already well. As I said before, I struggled tooutside my top three. I struggled to create the top five, but at number fiveI'm going to go with the BLEDOR Slow Cup, which I only went to about over ten years ago. So I don't reallyremember too much about it. Zl USTRALIA, it was in Australia and our family are Kwa supporters and thematch. We went to Australia one so that sort of took away from it a bit,but I always loved watching it on TV, which helps me realize, which makes me put more importance onthe event itself. That's why I've got it in the top five, even though I've only been to one match yeah but yeah. I don't really remember too much aboutthe match. I know it was a close match,...

...but if you, if al likes, Playin Englaland, because your dad's enguish and most of you guys go for England and a lot ofother sports, if the all Mi Pin Eis Ri be team, who would you go for? Well, I go forEngland. Mend Dad go for England and the rest of my family, all blacks. Yes, I do love the old backs. Yeah isit the Blad is like cup. I remember when I was growing up. It was like ahuge thing and yeah probably died off a little bit dude to Australiaas lack ofcompetitiveness. Yeah I used to watch. We always used to watch every match onthe TV back in the day, get around that kwes in New Zealand. Have that insanerecord at home, like I don't know if they ever lost or something yeah, itwouldn't surprise me yeah a I cant, remember what it was exactly but rig. I don't watch that much rih beunion, especially club Brog, pebe international rugby. It's always goingto be despised to it and like the Blas, like cups, good, because it onlyhappens a couple times a year. So it's easy to like a tune in Yep. Exactlyit's not. You know it's not like week and weekout thing that you have tofollow. I've been to. I think I South Africa versus theWalbes in the try nations or what they call now. The Yeah Yep, but yeah noI've never been to the ladders like hut, thatd be cool, though especially in NewZealand. I'm sure it's really hard to get tickets to, though over there yeah it would be. Definitely did you goto Imelbourne, or did you travel to go? Watch it? Well, I'm pretty sure it wasdefinitely in Australia. Well, so I guess I guess there is likea Melbourne. superrogpt be team yeah and it's one of it. This was would makesense. This was this was before the rebels were a Tam. Thoug definitely istrue, but I would make sense, but I'm pretty brusmen and Sidney every time.Yeah I mean. Maybe we were in Sydney, but I can't Remeb. I couldn't couldn'tremember. If we were I'm pretty sure it was Melbourne Thet you, you understand the boys likeDan Carler Yeah. All the boys are playing. I don't know it was like. Itwas like a shock that we lost that match yeah yeah anyway, all right now, my number five I've got the rip curl Pro Bells BeachClassic. So basically just the surfing e serving Agh yeah. It's probably awell kept secret about me and my family. I think everyone knows that we follow Robylyeand everyone knows that we've big cricketers, because me and lock playcricket, but I think it's not very well publicized, not the wost same celebrityfamily, but it's not very hud to the people who were friends with that. We're also like a big surfing, skateboarding, skiing and snowboardingfamily. Like we love doing those things like some of my finest memories wereWen esed to live in Brisband we'd, take a day trip to the Goald coast with likebobyboard and surf in the morning and then with Skateboard at lunchtime andbe home by like three and yeah. Now that was just some great memoris, sosurfings, like always been a big thing of my family. My Dad is a big surfingfan, so the Bells Beach serfe competition. It happens once a year during Easter holidays. It's always freezing, but it'still good fun. There's something about it like there's, just an atmosphere, itsurfing competitions. I've also been to the ones that snapper rocks on the GoldCoast. It's just like a cool intimatecommunity AE. A lot of people know a little bit aboutsurfing, but not that many people would like be passion enough to go out andwatch it. But once you'e there like it's, it's so cool. Like you see a lot ofpeople, you know like there's like four or five guys from who went to ourschool, who there all surface like every time I go to bells beach. Ialways see them down there and it's just such a relaxed like sport, theguys when they finish their heats. They come off. They come out of the water and theyjust basically walk through the beach and, like you can just like one of myfun, my favorite memories. This was actually on the goal coast, but MatWilkinson, who 's one of the big surfers. He he finishd his heat, and Iremember I ran up to him and just smacked him on the Arh like that stuff just happens, and noone cares and every time the surfer comes, O off off the water, like allthe young, kids or even sometimes at Oll, to just run up to them and ask forphotos or an autograph and they're just like happy to do it, even if they'velike just lost the final something so yeah just chill. Everyone just sitsthere like on their travel rugs on the beach...

...just watches the guys covered up theguys en girls cat it up and yeah. This is something really cool about it and the way the bills beach lay out isso there's like the kind of like. If you talk about it likethis straight open or something, it's like all, the food that merchandisestuffoor, the top on this car park and then you've got to like walk down thesestairs to get to the beach. So it's like once you just walk down thesestairs. You see all the crowd and all the surface out in the waters, itsreally cool, so yeah, that's probably a personal. While I wouldn't say it's inthe top five for many, but es big Fan of surfing competitions and look forward to east every year waspretty shouted this year. Actually because well, you and me have been gettingaround that day trips, so I was looking forward. Maybe even ifyou weren't got a cup et, I was looking forward to like going with the familyfor a day trip down to Talkey, but yeah not to be. But anyway, what have yougot for number for me for number. Four. I've got the one day, international criket, worldcup, yeah and again I've only been to onematch. I believe in my life, didn't you go when it was in Australia,I didn't go. I didn't go in two thousand and fifteen, so Ra, the onlytime I'e feend is biggest Cretat. Then, last year, at Lords, when we were awayin England, I went to new Zealandy Australia, which I mentioned in aprevious podcast, but once again like just how how much I value the eventitself and it only comes around once every four years. So that's the reason. I've got I in thetop five, even though I've only been into one game and the game I went to myteam didn't win either, but still there's something about World Cups.Isn't there yeah it's because they? I has only come once every four years. That's part of it like no matter what sport, whether it's rugbyleague, whichI love but even sports. I don't care that much about like rope union whenthe wallcup comes around like I'm into it and obviously soccer like if we said you didn't have to have been tothe event. Soccer would have probably easily take number one for me andthey's the most definitely but yeah, especially the last one. I guess just you know I couldn'tremember more of the matches, but ther w'r, something about that last wird cup.It was just so cool yeah, the soccer World Cups Unreal, butalways any well cup like even the Rugby Well Cup, but my fanship of rugby goesup by about three hundred percent, just t just forwhen the world cupes on Eah next minute, I'm watching Japan versus Scotland opinion and I'm, like God, yelling atthe TV and I'm like really care about Thi Wor, but not theCrik wader cups is awesome. I really I don't know about you, but I was a bigfan of the changed formout in last years. One Yep same: I rigtet itbecause it pretty like obviously Afghanistan, Vesus, like Australia,England or new Zealands, probably not going to be a kit one but kind of feltlike every match, was really important, yeah and it was a bit fair as well, because Yougot to play everyone yeah and when there was like the minows backin the day as there ison the t twenty Wirll Cup, like Nemebe ar will bem UTA,vesus Australia like thers, just really a waste of time. Oh Mate, Steve Ticklofrom Anoen an lever up the big fella tacking, theScrem, a big fellow yeah understand, like is probably stiff to the minnows, but they can rock up to the t twenty Welk Cup and have they crack there andplus it suits t twenty a lot more because it's easy to upset, like youremember when Netherlands beat England yeah true to abroad. Mr Stoms, from ameter out like that, lends itself more to that format. Mat where fifty overs, you have to be a pretty good side to yeah. One of the big teams can't reallyjust fullk it, but now that's a good shit and like, even though you've only beento one game. Obviously, you've watched other editions and stuff like that yeah.I think I watched ninety five percent of the matches atthat Well Cup and previous well cups as well or yeah. It would have been it would have been interesting watchingit while you're on holiday, because it would have been like tough to I'll just stay inside and watch thecree all day. Yeah. That's pretty much what we did to be honest. It's pretty silly from you now I watched a lot of it, but I didn'twatch a lot of full matches like I'd, watch and innings here, like I prettymuch watch the first indings of every much actually yeah, that's true becausefor half oid I was I was in Australia, so I can only watch the first sinnings, otherwise it'd be three, am yeah what...

...it used to sound like eleven or yeahten, so the eanings break would be like one one hundred and thirty so Itas kindof like am I really going to stay up to three? They thirty to watch this teamtrying trace down thre nd ad fifty, but that was it was good fun, save sport for different gender. Myfriend on the ICC, women's Cricke Boll Cup fornumber four. This is purely because the fact that I've attended, probably of the ten an more matches at the women's Green Worl Cup than themen's, Creek Worlk Cup, believe it or not. So, as we were mentioning before,I've been to the final, the man's Warld Cup, but for the women's Worlk Cup, Iwent to two two group matches and the final, and there was just something about itlike similar to the surfing thing it was like. I don't know how to explain it like. Idon't want to sound like I'm trying to be edgy or something, but I could have o I've never been to one,but I could imagine it's like going to lessen now and band or musical artistslike Gig, where, like it's a small crowd, but all the people there arelike really into it. OL Ik really know the songs and stuff of the person. That's a goit's, a godly comparison yeah, because like when we when I wentespecially to the two matches of the junction, there was probably only acouple thousand people there, but like every single person was absolutelyinto it even the match beforehand. I think it was for Lanca Banguatesh, which was like the curtain razor to Australia, New Zealand. Everyone wasgetting around it, just the intimate scene at the junctionoval like no big grand stands. The players like right there on theboundary rope like I was just chatting to the peopleiare sitting next to before you guys, rocked up and yeah. Idon't know it was just really cool community vibe down the Crik Woll Cupand n, the final, the finalwas n amazing night. It was just really coolto see that I think thete was eighty fivesand there or somethingeightythousand that many people getting down to a women's cricket match. Obviously the match was not very close, but that was kind of besides the point and then it all finishe with this isn'tsport, but it all finished with Katy Perry pe on a com it. After and like theAustralian women's team go up and danced and Sophie my great friend frommy Cruger Club, she was Cotin shates on stage with Katy, so that was like justoverall pretty amazing experience and I came away just you know, heartwarmingstuff, my friend were: Were you and your family cunning cutting a fewshapes when Kady Perry hit the stage yeah? I have to admit. I find itawkward because it's like it was in the stands. It's not like a dance for so wewere like ingrows, but everyone was standing, but it's like you don't havethat much room. So it's kind of walk with what shapes do you cut? You can'tgo all out. You CAn'tknow, can't wit out the sprinkler, yeah Exas, you behitting people and yeah. You are hitting people, butthen, if you just stand there and kind of just like Bob your knees to themusic at the same time, you kind of look like a shirtgass like after Mi. It was an awkward one aboutwhat cut what shapes to cut, but no, it was really good. There was like a twas like a mashpitcels kind of just watching people cuting shapes in there yeah, which gameis your your favorite out of the three you went to granny? Well, no, no, he have to say astrai in NewZealand, exact nice me, that's hone mean Cordis, got down thre with you, though I didn't wasn't ye Youuys Cah, that was, that was a goodmatch. Yeah it was like it was closer and because the the final theyabsolutely smashedhim like it was a yeah true, true EIG third enning thirdover the first inings, so yeah no thes Australia, New Zealandmatch was really good and it was really important because the winner, I thinkthe winner finished first in the group, and that was like a big thing and whichended up actually no might have been. The winner went through to the sems and the losergot knocked out. Something like that, but yeah nat, bankalsopty goodsome ofthe skill to Thi spinence, was reallyimpressive. Like I remember this one girl she just kept dancing this s. Youknow just smacking her over. He head like clearing Dhe fence by like tenmeters, and they were playing like really nice, sweetshots and stuff. So,although it's well documented that they haveless power and less like pace in the bowling and stuff, it was prettyimpressive. Some of the skills they had on show but yeah who on who won thatmatch...

...that Silanca flogged him. I think okaye cruise one of their opening bathrooms, like she was one of the tol, run scoresin the group stage, but yeah. What's your number three men numberthree. This was tough to differentiate my top three, but I've gone with the the famous showdown between PortAdladan Alad in the AFL Suth, Australia, Darby, not so much n t so muchSaturdays on not so much wher. I was absolutel flogging, which is good tosee yeah but yeah. The showdowns just the atmosphere at the game is justunreal and it feels like there's about eightusand people there and the onewere we went to which helped was probably match of the season in the twothousand and iteal season, when port got up through Steve Motlock. Withabout twenty seconds left but yeah, it was, I think, my other two adjustahead, but I do love the showdown ogo special special place for the showdown Youno. You are one of the bigger pordoutelaid fans going around one of the fee. Half the city goes wo. Then you can'tbesayin that that yeah we got a few fans. Few fans yeah, probably the only one in Meilbournethouh part from someone. We know biggest rivalry in the AFL. Well, I am biased, so so I'll say it is, but there's probably there's probably LePopular ones, but the the atmosphere and thecompetitiveness of it is definitely right out there. What are the other one s istor well few of the shirly, definitely the biggestinterstate one Jackin yeah pro, maybe colling witd, Esendon,Thouh and TAT day. Yeah, that's a good point. That'sprobably bigger yeah, it's Sind of held by the occasion, yeah true true, it's not so much the ravory between the teams. That's likefueling, the hatred you know do you reckon. Do you reckon any ofbigger ion? Know it's hard to say when you don't live there, but I couldimagine the West Coast Arby Western e would bepretty big. True given like how fool Yo mad, they are as well as out. Ladies, Ifeel like Freo. The Realy Dasn't helps fanget the fanship between Freo WestCoast is a lot more one sided yeah, that's se! True. What do you know what the avelaidbreakdown is in terms of like fanchip? Is it pretty even all it's Adelaide's abit higher, but it's like pretty even yeaht that probably helps a lot really. It's like a it's like the Glasgow Darby in Scoland. What makes it so special, even though Celtic have been dominant in the lastten years, like it's legit, split down the Middle Yeh. So have you been tothat? No that's another one that if it wasn'tlive events that would have definitely been up there for me. So my number three, oh actually do youthink if, if the showdown we went to wasn't such a great game, do you thinkit would be so hard n your list on not really well? Yeah it' still would have been atnumber three, but it would have been further off the top two yeah, because yeah notfair enough now my number three is one you'veactually been to man really haven't. I haven't been to much mate. I know what's coming, I know what'scoming on the state of origin, so originally I didn't have this in mylist because I was thinking it occurs too frequently for it to count as anevent but conferred with you and my family members, and they said no, it'sdefinitely an event, so yeah the state of origin. I've been to two, I believe.Maybe three ive been to one o Melbun, one and Sydney. I don't think I wentwhen I was in Brisban Becauseis fuck. That would have been bit painful being oneof like third new southwales fans in their stands. U Yeah! So I was pretty pumped obviously with the wind lastyear. I think I'm two from two actually in my origin, appearances and newsouthwales wins so maybe I'm the lucky Chamd, but there's just something aboutorigin for Rapi League fan like even if you Liin Melbourne, you don'treally care that much bor I be like...

...everyone. Kin Has a side and there'ssomething about like the color matchup that I just love like when you look atthat. If you look at the stadiums like Sune cout will be fully Marone, then Ans Er stadium will be fully blue and then, if it's in a neutral ground,it's usually split down the middle, where one side of the ground is fulling,Marona ones, fully blue, that's just I don't know ill just add to theatmosphere. I remember there's I've never really felt anything like it maybe apart from Annfield and anserd stadium last year, when theblues were walking out, because ninety percent of the stadium was all goingfor that one team, so t the roof just lifted off the place and yea everyonekind of lost, it lost their crap. So a Ma nit on mean unreal. How many? Howmany people ann at, I think it's S, hihs Shit, yeah, Yeahi'm Probbi, would have been SEK yeah. No, that was pretty special and then obviously helped it. It was anamazing game, finish ending in the news. holfwiles try, but even apart from that, it's obviously hard to not think aboutthis things. You've watched on TV, but there's just something about the stateof origin event for me that I can never really not get pumped forit. Like I just remember when I was a child in Brusbond, we were allowed towear our Jersey's to school on Origin Day. They would sell like Origin Cupcakes of the canteen yeah thet. It's just basically what Ido Wat's just what I define is like a big sporting event. Basically elwaysracks in the votes, not the votes, it always racks in the ratings on TV, alot of people, you know, watch it yeah yeah. So as aas a doar hard rugby league fan, I was expecting the origin to be numberone on your listmate yeah. It's pretty predictable to befair part of me, like I, don't know why. The fact thatit happens three times year made me kind of Fay the others, because, forexample, the World Cup comes around four times like once, every four years or if, ifyou're talking live, maybe once every twenty years but yeah to too big of a moment in my personallife, to not chuck it in Yeah, fair enough, fair enough Ohi, just I've justSeeng. One of my honorable mentions that I should shout out. I actually went to the Olympics when mymom was pregnant with me, so Su into the Olympics get around, but the Olympics would benumber one yeah if you actually weant to it. YeahIwas, GOINGTO, chuck it in therebut. The only thing is you don't get to seeany decent sport should have chucked it in there. Yeah you'd be watching likebad the canoeing or some shit, no offense to canoeing fans out there sureif that would be the greatest atmosphere in like a an a renerfos sport that no one reallyknows about, but yeah Ho. It's like a prestigious thing, so it's probablyreally cool. So, what's your number two big fellow number two, this was a toug. This was a tough one to differentiate from number one, but to be honest, I'm still tossing up, butI'm going to go with the Australian Open. That is also my number two. Is it yeah interesting? Well, the the Australian Open is justso much fun when you're. When you go to it like, I would go to all fourden daysif it wouldn't cost about a hundred twentythousand dollars out of a bankaccount but yeah, just being there being there, with your mates being able to especially the early rounds, just goingto watch whoever you want to watch and there's just so much tennis on likefirst around every single court has someone on it, but yeah, it's just so much fun. yeahts awesome like I, I kind ofexplain it theres so much to do it's go. It's got a different vibe toit than m the rest of my other events, but there's just something socool about it. When Hoy like walk ground, there's just like a buzz aroundthe place, Tha and the thing is there's so manyways you can attend. The Australian Open, like you, can go just sit in highsense all day. YEA can go into one of the Stadiums d watch like rogr Federa. You can just go like locky did this. He went didn't even watch a point. Justwent straight to the BEEA Garden and the n live page, don't K. I don't knowabout that, one from from Lockland mccorpordal, but well it is cheaperthan like a concert. So I guess true: It's Proabl thewsure ar you watching abit of tennis. While you're there fom...

...your extra cost. He came at five sureycomer like two yeah, a couple hours of tennis but yeah. In fact. That'sdisgusting fom him, but lessf you real. If he doesn't careabout tennis. Is he going to cop just watching like some ro play? Like a ladyfrom I don't know, Tyey Loik? That's that's your specialty. Just go women'srank. Ninety eight versus yet rank a the is threeways to watch it, but thenthere's a fourthway, and this is the way me and my littlebrother Rol, you also get around it. So does Josh Brown who's been on thechannel for and Jack Brolban, who was also on the foot one where we go, welike to shop and change. I forget what the word is. I learnet this in marketing and wealways talk about it in you know when you watch TV and it getsto an ad, so you change for another channel and then when that gets to anet ad, you change back to the other channel and stuff. Like that. I do, butI don't know that I don't know what, where in your it's called like TV,Zapping, there's a legit word for it, but caurts a I think, channel shopping, maybe Bu Yeah. That's basically the way me in Campbellrole like we. How many matches do we normally seein a day pilch when we go like Irik an we go close to seeing like ten tofifteen tteday s, I was going to say, like maybe sixno way, that's one court, there's like six on on tree. That'strue that be fair. I'm probably bit more extreme than you. When it comes to.I yeah you agt Ao awint. I don't think we watched one court for more thanforty five minutes yeah. I I don't mind my I don't mind. My Long High SenseSessions Watch a few, an bigger names, but I do like I do like going around tothe outside courts as well. The amosphere in high sentenceis, atrocious you like it. You like a colonmeto awayfrom the ball, but when Ye Atie courds you can smellthe nut, whizzing Var ou haste. You can feel it yeah, no there's just something aboutthe outside court. So I just love that to be fan, e show courts they're, notvery that small and I still love them. So I can't I writea Oien, but yeahthere's just something about it. The weather's always lovely, probably tothe point where it's too hot and your risking skin cancer by being there, but it is definitely a high ligt and like I went to Canada and America the otheryear and I absolutely loved it, but that was probably one of the clow lights of the trip that I misseddowt on my and your Australian Open visit and yeah,I don't know it's just something: Cool like we normally get a three day passone day, I'll go with you and we ill just do whatever we want one day I'llgo with Brownie onedoy mum will come one day. CAMWILL come like it's fun, just rolling with a different crew, every time and yeah, just something. This is someone ive exactly right into a music festival. Anything but ther's.Just like a festival. Vibe like everyonees theyre having a good time. You've got your little squads of each country like you go to a chillaar Playa,Colombian player and all of a sudden there's like Spanish chance chance inSpanish, going on and 's like. Where do these people live? Like I actuallydidn't know, there was a Colombian community in Melbourne, so, like that'spretty cool, it's very international, the food's great, even though it'sforty drs for one Shit Bu, the food is fucking expensive, it's hard with the pricing because itis expensive, as you said like, if you went every day, ou build up. But whenyou talk about the our rate, that is true to cans. Do there all wayyeah a footy match. You could get a ticket for like forty dollars and it'sa three hour match. You can get a grandpass for like forty five and youcan be there for like twelve hours. If you play cards right yeah, which wetend to, we tend to be there for the entire day, an nightsessions, so it actually is place and value to be fair. Yeah well, well, ATS, that mattrewatching Pierr huges her ther and Norik cameranoy myself was like twele forty, five and Yeah Er. Still there were still there getting around Nary, eventhough he lost yeah the she tellming about the showopen. Obviously I said this before: We don't include our nonlive experiences, but like also love watching on the TV yeah, it's just yeah. I love it.Everyone there's not much sport going on in that little two week period, there's a couple one days, usually in the cricket, but there's no AFL, no niland kind of teniss. TAKTES CENTOR stays for a little bit and as a tennis fan, that's nice very nice and I've heard that the Australian Open,...

...like players on the tour of said thatit's their like favorite slam and the best organized slam and things likethat, and I an I'm not really surprised because it's absute is, I think, Australis pretty goodnadvens yeah, because it's like were we have like the well establishedstructures of like a firstword country, but then there's not mass peoplecausing chaos like there would be an event in like America, Yeah Ithe, ok, so yeah, yeah and there's somethingabout like the informal nature, I'll touch on this an my number one actually, but there's something about the informal nature of Australian tennisfans that makes it a bit spicy like half the people going. They're just toget smashed and just talk shit to the players like there's always that one hero andyes se bit annoying, but they are kind of funny when they're just lipping offone of the players, where I think in Arolan Garros Sor Wimbledon, you wouldbe like kicked out if you yet tauht. So I don't know, I think that's somethingbit cool about it as well. What's your number one there, my number one may is the ashes, which was one of your honorable, mentions, yeahrgh yeah. For me, the reason I put in myhonorable ventions was in the Barmi army was amazing, but ifHEU went outside of the barmy army, it just wasn't good enough for my top FIHTBI ECA yeah. Well, if we, if we hadn't, have experienced that days play or twodays play in the barmy army, it wouldn't have been my number one andprobably the fact that I'm more into my cricket at the moment probably led toit claiming the number one spot. But I mean the ashes for me: Is thepinnacle of creat ahead of the one day woke up, because it's just thetraditional historic battle between England and Australia, and especially when it's at the MCG,which is the only place I've been to ash's test? There's a hundredk nine.Ninety fivethousand people atmospheres going off, especially in the barmy army, as wewere and Yep. That's that's why it's takenthe cake for me and cooks: Innings, cooks, two hundred N, forty four knotout its Tai: okay, that was some of themore fun I've ever had out a sporting event. I'd say that those two days in the Bar Yar, that wasthey were unreal. Yeah, there's just somthing about theway English fans support, sport, yeah and the just the absolute abusebeing tossed around between the English fans and the Australian fans, yeah itsjust absolute Pisser, yeah and like cricket. I love thecricket. The way people wll treat cricket because, like yeah, I'm sure, there's a bit ofbander in the soccer crowds in England, but I think it goes past that pointwhere it's like: There's genuine fights and like everyo ate each other where, even though the English and the Australians they don't like each other.I think there's that, like respect there yeah it's kind of like o. This isall just funnand games. Let's just get smashed and just talk talk crap to eachother, yeah, there's, never there's never genuine punchons or anything likethat. So yeah, it's good fun! We'll have to do it next time. Now that Wer, likelegal drinking age, yeah and actually get on them, and we have to worry. Oh, we have tolearn the word to Jerusalem. Yeah and we've got a AO Blackpool, Youl, wearyour black cool and I'll buy a Brentford. You nowthe, Jo Yeah, that'sthe key! That's anyone! LISTEING WHO's Goneg to the barmy army, just stick ona roundamd, inguish soccer jersey, anyone outside the big six and you youfid- that life epeenf, the crowds attire, so yeah yeah that don't wear a top sixkit, probably think you plastic yeah, remember New Castle United, theman wearing the he was like he was there. He was the et was the ringleader. He was the ringleader in Bay. Third Ane Yeah Yeah isn't Yo Carso get on yeah. Now onto my number one tat. This is avery random one that I'm a hundred percent accepting. This is an eititreAI, mi involved. There's a recen Y bys involved non in care, and my number oneis the president's cup Te President an Frien. I did not say that kin. Thatsays America compete against an international team and it was luckyenough to take place genuinely two hundred meters up the road from myhouse...

...last December December. Two Thousandand nineteen and I'll be honest, was not excited forthis. I thought it was ridiculously overpriced event and I was likeconfused what the big fuss was. Yeah Tiger Woods, the great man was comingout, but I was like not came for this at all. My family friends came down fom Brizfrom Brisbon and they watched it. They went with US and dead sit. So of the greatest days of my life, Iwent to two days one day I had to leave early because I'd cricket, but I stillwatched ta Sol like three hours and the other day. I went the whole day and itwas like similar to some of the other things on my list. Like the tennis andthe Bells Beach. It was just like a vibe there, where it was just. I don'tknow like Evron was just having a great time like people had taken days offwork or it was their weekend and they were just loving the fact thatthey were there watching some of the world's greatest golfers just go out it. I thought it was going to be a reallypretentious crowd. It was a Royal Melbourne. I thought it was going to be a bit likeyou know, winbood, an kind of vibs wherever I'm just like Rost people when they talk andEveryoneus like does these little claps, but it was actually loose like therewas players getting lipped off for being fat like everyone was getting pierced like bymidday, everyone was drunk in the crowd every as soon as someone would hit theball. Every in would just get up pretending. It was like in the hole, even though the hole was like four hundred yards away and yeah like similar to the women'scricket and the Bells beach like right there, because everyone pretty muchjust goes a single fileline down the hole so like everyone is on the road.If you know W at mean no there's not a many occasions where it's like fiverows back. So when the players get up to you theregenuinely like fifteen meters away. So that was pretty amazing. I have to say I wish I went about myviewing experience differently. Everyone was kind of following tigerand even though he's the greatest Golf Erbut, I'm not really like, I don'treally care. I just wanted to see top golfers play and get a good view where, when everyone was following tiger was kind of hard to see, so we kind of gotsucked in because, like lockon and dad ane and see Tiger and the people wherewere with wanted to see tiger where I didn't really, I didn't really want toso. If I was maybe on my own, I probably would e broke away well, likeWav needed to break away, if I, as on my own, but I probably would have justwatched these randos that I could have just got like the prime seats for each holeto but yeah there was just an awesome day: Jonathan thirstand therwas heaps ofcelebrities. There, like everywhere, you looked therease a celebrityJonathan Thirston, one of the Rog Billye, the nilas greatest players. Hewas there and I was wearing Belmain Tiger's jersey. Don't know why people like dad reckons it was tosupport tiger it actually wasn't. It was just. I think it was because, if I was in thebackground of a hole on TV, if I hade my tiger's jersey, I would have stoodout more feel like my family, watching in Sydney. I think that was the reason, but I cantial yeah and then Jorlthan Tirston. He was walking past me and weboth made eye contact and I just started laughing because obviously hit didn't play for theBowman Tigers and he I was just like o how I mate and he wasjust like getting upabout it and he was like you got the wrong jersy on theirmate and we like it was only like a thirty second chat. But ite was justsomething cool about that and, like I don't know, it was just such a funweekend and yeah. So that's pretty much. WhyIT'S MY NUMBER ONE! I don't I'll be honest. I don't think I'll have to goto the President's Cup again, the PRESIDENC. The president's couplenearly cost me me job because I was trying to. I was running a little bit late andthen I tried to drive down reserve road, which was just just couldn't moveanywhere so ia about half an hourits about half an hour. Lat Cope a bit eroasting from the Bos yeah, I bro it into cricket forty five Lahes. This is this happens like I'm, probablyNever Goingnto go the presents. Come again. I don't care if I'm thirtyminutes late. Forty five minutes late to the warmat Youan cop yeah, like it's probably the most rare event I'veever been to because it happens every two years and then it alternatesbetween America and international happens in international every fouryears and then the chances of a being in Australia, let alone Melbourne orwhere I'm living at the time. That's...

...like minute, so that's Octru, very trueyeah, like Royal Melbourne, is one of like the Southern Hemisphere is likegreatest golf courses. So if it does happen in Austral, there's a strongchance I'll be there again, but it's got to come to Australia first, soit'll be a long time. I might I onedey. I want to go to the WRIDER Cup. Thatlooks insane yeah because I think similar to the Australians, theEuropens are pretty loose when it comes to golf like ther, especially for theteam events. I think everyonejus gets up for the team events and Yeah Ye, mydad's, a huge Rideer Cup fan and I yeah I'm no idea why he didn't go to thePresident's cup, seeing as it was ten minutes away from where we live, but Yeso Ollbe, askii, areall, expensive, I'm pretty sure so like. If it's not your biggest passion.I guess you could view it as a waste of money, and I maybe this has something to dowith John's decision making, but international, I'm ot a hundred percentshore on the rules, but I'm pretty sure they can't be European because that the RIHTA compy. That would beexactly why yeah. So there was South Africans Argentinians Chilean SouthKorens Chinese, Japanese, Australians New Zealanders but yeah. Well, surelythey just get apsoutely wrecked, but I man that but theye actuallypretty decent and the thing is because ther're such small teams, you only needa few good players. It's kind of it's not like the Davis COPR. It's not thatextremely only need one good player, but yeah. You only need like three orfour who carried fretin players for international. You would know, but there's this guycalled Song J and I think Korean Car Yeah Young, South Korean Dude is onlylike twenty. He was really good, Mike Leshman, whois 't, he's like the fourth Australian Golf Rom, the world he playned reallywell, it's like it's golf like even the best players. Culdn't have anoff day and like Rando, can carry so that kind of make it exciting. Yeah,it's not like. Well tennis, it can happen as well, but you realistically, like Rogerfender, is not losing to like Jordan Thompson Yeah, where N in golflike anyone can be anyone, especially in the team event environent, becauseit's a bit out of the ordinary for them. So yeah that was just pretty cool day acouple days, so yeah, that's pretty much. All I've got for the sportingevents me same with me, Mat same with you and the the JonathanThirst and interaction. Is that the is he you mostfamous person? You've talked to that's so hard to think on the spot o mean talk. Do you mean like a genuinedialogue? Yeah or like can obviously Gotur? Second, what's the best signature, you'vecopped well of COPD, Joe Garna? Oh yeah, that's pretty lagt! That's thats e Vido, O there, Steve Smith, I copped him whenhe was just breaking into the Australian team. You've made a profiton that one, then that on be out there, those stocks of Rison I'll be on likenot to Brag, but I have pretty much got every CRIKEDAF to a because every yearwe just go to the shepend shield and, like you basically do youn so, like Ithink, I'v Bot, David Warners, Nete lines pact, Commons, oh pro, Barkin isthing. This wasn't me, I don't know I used to have this. One tupy subject Mat,but I used to have this Australian one day hat and it was signed by all theplayers and you've lost Oday. I think it might have been from at twentyactually and I lost it at movie. Weld and I've never been more shoutered. Idon't know exactly who was on it. I trenthe Simon catriage. U was YEA OrandMan, your Al Round, men yeah, I think Punter- might have been on that, so hemight have been the best player Mglemcgram. Maybe as well. I don't know yeah but yeah. I don't know, that's a tough findit. What about you anything that comes to mind? Nothing comes tomorrow! For me,I don't even know if 've got a signature. That is noteworthy. Idon't know about Jenny. But I'll be honest. I can't imagine like John oryou three boys being like bullish. When it comes yeah we are notbut yeah. I feel like O, Jo man. I believe John has en both of M. Oh really, that's cool, I'm like that like, but Campbell and mum and actuallyLocklin can be sometimes like they just don't care they're. Just like...

...probably never going to see this blackagain, I'm more. The kind of person who like I will just go up and say: Gooday, likeI did with Jonathan Thirstond like not ask for a photo and autograph just like have a moment with them. That's athat's! An Alpha move, POWRMNO ECAUSE! I don't know. I feel bad like asting, pretty Soonatur ophrode becauseit feels like I'm just using them whereif. I just like actually asking mygo: Hey Yo gone like even though they're not getting anything from it N,I'm the only one who's profiting from that like it. I just feel a bit morepolite. You know, but yeah t of ther, but ohbut bathe, ro interaction. I'vehad this wis. Also the shepherd shield at Halanborterfield aiden blizzard, asked me to come into the ice bass with the boys after thegame. I'll be honest, looking back, it's a seriously dodgy move because I'mtalking I was ten like. I know he just meant it as a gag and because I wasjust like walking back to the car park and he walked past in like his tawl, and I was just like said something like well playman or soing, and he was just like Oh want to come to theast bass with us, Ma II g and en, but looking back likeask you and your own H.that's right! Pisur, that's pretty sketchy from the great man, but nowthat it was funny and as to remember it to this day. So it's left an impressionon mee the great man Investin solid interactions with so getthe creat porr get pro the cricket does provide actually like. I don't want to justkeep telling stories about the ALM Borderfield, but another funny one was dad. He we were because this istiny, like small than the junction oval. We were sitting on the grass and it was either shaantate or callumnFerguson. I think it was calm. Ferguson Tad's, like Oh who's, that fielda andwee like con Folgson, and that goes so loud he's like Col verson fol. That Bokwas etired, he's rubbing, likehe's turned around and looked at you and it was actually humor. But thething is, I don't get it because he would have been young men,so wead call from phrase but sous. No, you rubis cool yeah, that's pretty much! It don't think. I've got much more to addon the topic staks day. That's another pretty good event: Ip Bein to not quite the Melbourn Cup, but prettyclose to it. So yeah, that's basically it. How longhave we been going Mat we've Beeng gone for an hour and two minutes, just awarning. I have had issues with the video while we've been recording. So if there's you know Temmina periodwhere my camera is off on the Youtube v, just cop will try and work on it. Idon't think it's going to be a weekly thing, because, especially if I'm innew guest on or something I feel a bit awkward asking them to recordthemselves, but well see how it goes. Yeah once again, as I said, get aroundthe social media account need to get back to the drawing board.DONU Pilchan plan some episodes because atthe minute, I'm kind of just goingepisode by episode.
