"North Melbourne will move to Tasmania?!?" AFL Season Review - Episode 70

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Once again joined by the AFL Experts(Broady, Rowey and Pilch), the guys review the seasons of the 10 AFL Teams who missed out on the 2020 Finals Series, awarding Best & Fairests, Most Improved and a rating out of 10.

Cheers. He settle. Welcome back to the honorball podcast. This is episode seventy of the show. Were once again joined by the AFL experts. Broady, how are you may, good mate, ready to be out of lockdown, but ready for the finals to roll. Ye, how I good, mate, Ne Saturday, but pumps and just pumps. Be on here. And finally, Piech. How you doing, mate? Are My already already got the jitters for tomorrow night? But good to be on. So today we're going to be going through the team to miss out on final. So I assume we'll be doing one. Well, I don't know why I'm assuming. I'm the one in charge that I can say it's happening. But we'll do like a finals review, not one on a finals review, but a season review for the finals teams after finals, because we, you know, we don't want to go big on a team after their regular season and they go out and straight sets port. Definitely not happening there. But we'll go through the other ten teams, will work our way from nine to eighteen, will give a bnf the most improved player, a raining out of ten and then will quickly predict where we reckon they're going to finish up next year. But to kick us off, we are starting with the Melbourne demons. Just missed out an eighth position. Brought it what you think of their two thousand and twenty season. It was very up and down for Melbourne. I mean they had a big chance with a few rounds to go to make the finals. For Memory, I think they lost to Sydney and free I and they're like games that they could have definitely won but choked. Yeah, they were okay. They've got a lot of star players. It still seem to not quite have that influence on the game to win Games footy. My best and fairest for the season was clearly put drarker. He was a gun the midfield. Will probably fish top five in the brownlow. It was all. He would have been my most improved as well, but I thought I'd guess someone different. So I know he was traded, but I went Ed Langdon as the wing up for Melbourne. He came across from Free I. I thought he was probably better than my I had him as my expectations and yeah, my writing out of ten was a six. Definitely could have made finals, but it wasn't a complete disappointment this season, but they'd be looking to make finals next year. Otherwise some tough decisions on Goodwin will need to be made. I reckon right, all righty Um. Yeah, I think, like brody touched on, they were up and down, but that's the sort of the story. From Melbourne up became top for and seventeen and now night. So they've been at all ends of the extreme. So I think they do. People do forget that they came seventeen last year. So I jumped from seventeen to night. is obviously a big improvement. But I think obviously the big floor in their system is their forward line, which they can obviously fix. They fix their back line. You know, they brought in Stephen May Jack Levin now that's obviously one of the best defenses going out there in terms of tools. But yeah, they just inability to score big, big scores and blow teams out of the water is what's lacking with them. Could and obviously had that problem before. They were had that massive streak of not being able to kick a hundred. But yeah, I think they can definitely push for the top eight next year. I think a lot of will come out to the trade period actually, depending on who they bring in and whatnot, I'm going to give them six point five. I think there were, obviously because I've jumped up from seventeen or being F is, but trucker, who questionably took steel spot in the middle of Australians him. That's all right. And most improved. I'm going to go with Steven May, who I think took his game to another level this year. Obviously is very stiff to miss out of the squad. But yeah, that's my reviews. Melbourne, Pilch, yeah, I grew with you, two boys like very, very consistent all year. But, as you said, Roy, they were seventeen last year and I think obviously you never want to come night, but I feel like ninth before the reason started, would probably have been a success. Like not many had not many people had them making the finals. So I thought, I thought it wasn't too bad. Obviously for truck for the BENF and I've also done him for most improved because I think he was probably the most improved player in the entire ifl this season. And writing. Seven out of ten. Yeah, so I'm going to I'm not going to I'm going to take a bit of a backseat today because obviously you boys are the AFL experts, but I'll be going off my branlow system again for the BNF and most improved. So my bnf he was actually all the runner up the third place,...

...because my winners were tied Clayton Oliver, and then my most improve is but trucker. But yet predictions boys broady. I've got them finishing eleven, but I'd be concerned about that because they've got a lot of players sort of entering their prime now, so they really need to be making the eight if they're going to go anywhere. Roight. Yeah, if you look at next year's later pretty there's a massive blood of teams that are within that sort of six to fourteen, fifteen. So I expect him to finish sort of at the top range of that. So I might give him a stipid finals. I'll give him eight or nine pillage. Yeah, it's quite quite unpredictable in this range I've gone. I've gone with twelve just because they they've still got a lot of issues, but I mean, if they do fix up their issues then they definitely have a lot of potential to make finals. All right, that's it for the day's moving on to gws Rowe d open the baling for us make sure right. So the giants it's scared that their preentership windows actually closing now. They've obviously had a shot the big time. Last year got flogged by eighty nine and now they're out of the eight. With the bought creatum attended to do that to their pastime opponents in the granny. I think they made problem with them. Actually is just then their culture around the club. Obviously the lacking fans of supporters is a big contributed to that, I fear. I remember reading about Lucky Whitfield when he was actually drafted. He's really a mentally was it was going to be a two year stint and then it'll come back to Victoria. So I think that's what's impacted a lot of their players and obviously core and willing to basically gone. Cameron is questionable. But a good positive about that is that I all those players are replaceable, even cameron. One thing to know that I think I've got to fix is their Ruckman, which is obviously underrated by a lot of clubs, I think, but there's only one on every twenty two, sometimes two, but it's a very unique spot and they're actually ranked last in terms of first score scored every game. So I think US mainly because the middle for changes every week is always either Mumford of Jacobs Mum for the Jacobs, and those two are basic gone now. So I think they have to invest into a mainstay Ruckman to improve for next year. I've gone with a pretty low three out of ten because I've obviously gone from arguably the most talented list in the calm to our finishing ten. So I'm scared windows closing, but I expect improven from the next year. PILCH, yeah, agree with all those points and I don't really write Leon Cameron like. I think there are some serious flows in there in their game plan this season as well, like their ball movement. They chipped around the back for ten minutes to court. Are Not even looking to move it forward. So they're relying on some extreme efficiency inside fifty. But are we doing the BNF and Oh yeah, Roy, Roy, who are your sorry about that. The player was no, I'm just a yeah. So being f the canes all Australian. Absolute going across at halfback carried them a lot of the year. I can most improved I'm actually going to give to Harry Perryman. I think I don't really underrated year consuming all of the talent they've got. Yeah, back to your pilch. Yeah, been efforce between hands and Whitfield. I'm going to go whitfield and most improved Harry Perriman as well. Hopefully we see him in some port colors next season. Pretty excited about that. And then writing four out of ten, which is probably lenient to be honest. Sort of budding pilch. I think you actually resigned with them. Okay, edited a ladder out that body. Yes, we're that's ruined me not. I agree with what these guys said, mainly obviously huge disappointment. People check the nail on the head, like their ball movement. They used to be an exciting team. He used to really run up half back with a lot of running carry, and they've just lost that. They played boring slow footy and chip the ball around row. He's right. I think mump AD by a signed another year as well, a few days ago. I think we're all wrong. I think so. Like if he's going to be their number one rachman again. There's big issues there. And then you know, too many of their players just seem to play with their, you know, heads down, almost camerons, Jeremy Cameron's attitudes, especially in the second half of the year, was a joke. I'm I was really disappointed with DWSCV. Can't tell, so you might being F was. It was a toss up as well between Whitfield and Haynes, but I went with field and agree with you guys with Perryman is the most improved,...

...definitely one of the shining lights for the Nishia, and I gave him a two out of ten. Pretty poor after making a grand final last year. Didn't play with any spirit. Seemed like the Harb Life and covid sort of got the better of them. Yeah, so for the awards, I've got the same as Rowe. Haynes Been F Perryman most improved. All right, predictions. Roy, I've got him finishing outside the eight, just because I think the problem with mentality and mental I guess toughness is a lot harder to fix and simple this changes. I've gotten finishing outside the ear can just ten or twelve when they finished again. Pilch, I've got them thirteen. Actually, I think they got a decrease a bit again and I think the finals windows definitely closing. Broady, as much as I was disappointed with them this year, I've still got them bouncing back a little bit and I reckon stick to me bit of variation there. FELLAS are like it. Next up we've got broad. He's blue, so we'll just dog the order because we'll let broady talk about his side. So finishing eleven, broady, what do you think of the season? I mean the one day a year and a half. Gay, we've had one about four games in four and three. So we're definitely improved under David J I mean really rough shop for a long period of time. They're but I still feel like we didn't quite play to our potential this season quite a few we had a lot of tight games that we want, a few of them and lost the few of them. So a few more results went our way, maybe we could have pushed for finals, but ultimately we had coltain had the chance to make a run for the eight but weren't mature enough and did it enough games in the back half of the year against Collingwood and dws and those sides. So overall that I think we improved. A lot of the young players is still getting better. Kurna would march bank and these guys will be back next year to help us improve. So fingers crossed we can go another again next year. That being said, my being F was weading personally thinking is very stiff not to make the Australian probably B advice grade. He was a defensive rock. He's going to be a, you know, a lockdown done defender for another ten years. Most improved. How am I know you love him. That is thought. He made a big improvement. Played a lot more midfield time instead of the wing last year, so he was much better. In my writing, was just six. I think it was about just above par. Might people would have had us missing the eight by a game or two and that's about where we finished. Yeah, Piach, what do you think? Yeah, look body brought. He's pretty much hit it all on the head. I mean at one stage people thought they were like generally going to make the eight. Probably just a little bit of inconsistency which rule. They'll fix that in the next two years, definitely, and they're definitely on the up. And then being F definitely watering and most improved set of field as well. Block tackles people for fun and he had a he came out of nowhere. I thought he sucked, but then this year he was genuinely good, so good on him. What about a rating? PILCH? Six, point five out of ten? I like the decimal's boys. Roy, what about you for the awards for Carlton? All of a quick summer. I think they've always been a year behind. I'll use St Kild as a model. No bias at all the boy think for the last five or six so there's been a clear trend where they've avenge where. Well, we have shot at the ladder after about five or so rebuilding years. So I think that's where Colin's going to be out now. So they're into stage to rise on the ladder. We love our stages in Melbourne. I think the main obviously need is a graders. So I'm going to get Zach Williams, which is massive, and then just someone like is Zach Merrit or sommer, just throwing it up, just throwing a name out there would be awesome for them. But yeah, I've got the BNF is Jacob wearing most improved. A bit of variety. I'll go just for the men of the town, Sam Walsh, who's obviously just a gun and I reckon next to you, royal. Can you pretty correct and saying Le Make All Australian? Yeah, I think I'm going to give him a sixty out of ten because they did basically finished apart. But I think next year they cannot aford to finish below eleventh, which, when I finishes, you agree. And then for my awards. Obviously, if you've watched the all Australian predictions episode last week, you would have heard that crips one my ball tied for my brown load. So here's my Benf and then setters is going most improved just ahead of weading. So pretty stiff for weading...

...to go empty headed there. Just like to say, Perryman and set of field, WE'RE IN MY super coach team in like two thousand and eighteen, so two years earlier on it, but I'll take it broady. What about a prediction for next year? I'll just say right before merit is a big chance of coming just a little bit of mile. I've got that anyway. I'm sneaking to the eight. Eight we're going to get merit. We're going to get Williams, maybe sid just a little top up and we'll be on the UP. Next look out, pilch. Yeah, well, I had them, I have written down here night. But if you boys land merits, had and Zachlyms and you probably coming top for so pretty, you definitely a big sniff to jump into the eight. Roight. Yeah, I'm actually say I've got him. It's nine, just missing out by hair, but I expect Humil, obviously Land Williams, which only he's basically guarantee. If you did land merit and side, I'm going to have you finishing in there all right. Next up we got free. Oh, finished in twelve. PILCH join a start us off. A bit of a fan of free these days, aren't you? May What do you think of there? Says? Yeah, I'd a squat soft spot for free. Oh, similar with the SWANNIE. I like a lot of their players and they have a lot of young talent. I'd say they've probably surpassed expectations this year and I've been hearing, like a lot of people, expecting them to jump into the eight next season. So they're an interesting one to watch out for in terms of the BNF. Not Five few contenders but five, probably still their best player this season and most improved. How man, Andy Brayshaw. Well, further rating my writing is six point five. Same with Carton wrote. What do you think of free? Well, I think obviously new coach. It started off pretty pretty poor, but that was obviously expected. There was seven and six after round for so in the positives, which is great sign, especially given the young list that they've got. So they've done well to rebuild actually without completely bottoming out, which I think we've seen with Adelaid, we're about to see with north we've seen with comment saints before. Obviously I think chair abrasure and Surrong Tho's going to be three massive. That's going to be like the best three midfielders for the next ten years, I reckon once they obviously mature. Being aff I'm going to go with Luke Ryan. Obviously five and great. Sure a couple contenders. I think Luke Ryan was absolute rock for them. Most improved, obviously can't. Can't pass any racial it's absolute animal. Writing. I'm gonna give him an eight because new coach after round four, the or seven and six. But yeah, also big fan of for your song or against the best song in the IFEL. Just yeah, all right, brobent, what do you reckon? I'm with these guys really bullish on free the next few years. I think they did really well with the mute coach, you know, and when they get to play more home games next year and stuff, that will be that'll be close to making it for me. Yeah, look, line all Australian. Had to have him as my B and F and all the toss up between care embraceure, I went chair as most improved with you guys act in. That would chair a Bra sure and strong and they're really exciting me to feel for the next ten, fifteen years to free. Oh and I couldn't. I didn't have eight out of ten of my writing because I thought you can't give that to a thought that hasn't made the finals. But Rale, you've convinced me and I'll go an ate as well. All right, peach, you talked about potentially them sneaking into the finals next year. Do you reckon they're going to do it or just outside? Well, I've got them just outside, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did make it and I will be rooting for them to make it next season. Row you back in the mint. I'm back in my are can. They're going to have I'm going to do, going to claim a few big wins at optous to going to have the big they're going to have the crowd around them. They're going to be fuel likes of like Richmond West Coast. Are Going to get a few massive scalps next to you, I reckon. So I've got him in there, broody. Reckon. The people going to be up and about right very nice. I think they just one year away from the eighth. That ten for me, improving but not quite there yet. And then for my I forgot to do my awards. Luke Ryan got both mine smashed in my brandlew thing. I think he came forth. So yeah, and surprising there actually got my prediction for free spot on. Only got two correct in my whole eighteen, and Frey was one of them, which I think was actually a bit of a shot because I reckon, most people would have had them down at like fourteen to seventeen somewhere in there. Next up rowy Essen and finishing thirteen. Would you make it their year? Not Good. That was the first dot point. I have...

...literally just those two words. I've seen the bottom for side next year, especially if silent leaves. I think us is going to be massive if he does, because he just gives them a lot of that run and carry off half pack, which is obviously going to be missed now with mccannt also gone. I'm still unsure about their for and defense, especially I don't know what the Hell's going on with Hrli and hooker. They're not going to be part of the next premiership teams. They've got to invest and both ends of the ground. There only area that has real class really is the midfields, so's she'll, merit and McGuire, which were all pretty coolly players, and on obviously Ridley at halfback. But they do really need to keep Mary. They kind offord to lose him. I've got feelings as he stays because I'm not a cult and supporter. But yeah, they are there. They're number one job for the next few months is make sure keep merit, keep that middle three and just focus on the key pills. The other under the ground Ben F it's line ball between marit and Ridley. I'm just going to go ridley because he's only play what twenty odd games and he's already one. That being best and fairest. I reckon should have made the Australian team most improved. Of I was going to go drape but like he's only this is his first year, so I'm going to go at him side. You just took his game to other level and was pretty stiff not to make the Australian squad. Rating will gone for three out of ten. They're going to bottom out, broady. Yeah, not good news at all. Face and then I think they're a long later. Clearly the coaching hand over between worth felt and ratten has really worked, because a lot of their players and want to be exit the Qom. I saw something other day. If, good chance, say Kinna hair, fantasia merits already gone and start, they're like four players all between twenty four twenty six, like in their prime. If they all want to leave the football club, it's going to be a real issue for them. Well, they had a really good start to the year, but that was all because of their fixture. You know, they played a lot of the bottom sides and then they felt way badly. So, yeah, not a good year best and I think they are a long, long way off of premiership. Kilt being F for me with Zach Merritt, just so that meant my most improved was clearly Jordan Ridley, as rare he said, really improving player and hasn't played many games at all. Writing was a three out of ten. Almost gave them a tow, but I was generous. PILCH. Yeah, shocking season for the bombers and I really like I would if there's any team in the comple wouldn't want to be a fan of right now, so the bombers, because can't see them getting anywhere near the eight in the near future and I really hope fantasier doesn't come to port on a side note, but I'm being F Jordan Ridley. I don't think he should have made the Australian team. Muse then Baron Jones, without to miss out, but definitely a good playoff. Most improved Ridley as well, but for a bit of variety. or Go McGrath and the writing, the writing for free. Out of three out of ten, or three threes around the border like it. Yeah, Ridley swept up both of walls for me, I think Essen and was actually my most incorrect prediction. I had them up at fifth, if you remember. So yeah, wasn't too good. Tired with port. I think nine to first, both a points off. Definitely good. Foot you for me, Rowley. Where do you reckon that? Two Thousand and twenty one dons are going to come? Well, if there's one thing I've learned from doing that a lot of predictors for teams. As it I'm always like a lot of people, always very ordinary. Only have a shift teens by a couple. But I'm going to drop him down to seventeen. I think Adelaibel overtake one team finishing below them. I think broady. I'm not that one on them, but fifteen or fourth side, but they win a few game for sure. Piled. I've got him fifteen as well. Yeah, not good news. At essend and or brought it. Next up we got the gold past sons finished in fourteen. Would you think of their two thousand and twenty very possible for all in all, I mean they definitely fell away is the season went on. Probably a lot of young guys got hired, but I'm still and know people are very Bush on them early in the year, but at the end of the day they literally played most of the Games in their home state, slept in their own beds and only one, like five games in the end. So they're still a fair way off. And me, obviously, we speak about all the time. They got twenty of young players who are really on the rise and they're going to, you know, build that team for the next ten, twelve years. But my B and F goes to Sam Collins. Probably stiff to miss out on the Oldish game squad and he did win their BNF as well. You know, great story. You to play Raisi's and bfl the only Victoria and then made his way into the big league. So well, don't think him most...

...improved was the hard one. Well, I thought Jack, look coach, just became a more dominant player this year and he played a little bit forward a bit back. Last year. Wasn't really sure where he was playing. You See. They put him on the halfback line and he's penetrating right boot was damaging. Overall. Writing. Was a six out of ten. Definitely steps in the right direction, but still a little bit of making a final tilt pillage. Yeah, yeah, they've sort of pranked everyone the first first portion of the year. People genuinely thought they were going to make the eight. But I'm yeah, they kind of they kind of did what they've done every other year. But it is close. I reckon it's coming very soon. They're gonna they're going to one year they're just going to go straight into the top for. I reckon when it all clicks. But being F took Miller Collins a bit stiff, but I've given collins the most improved award and a rating of six out of ten. Just to quick side note. I'm not common people who bought into the suns after like three weeks. But yeah, anyway, carry on rally. Well, I did mind to the songs off those few weeks. I'm like top for. They were saying like a ship it was. There was the rest last game that did it, I reckon. Yeah, we're especially thanking every other starts easy, but yeah, yeah, I reckon. They're ready for a rise. Obviously they've had a lot of years in the com in the COMP and being talked about relocation and everything. I think I've got to some of the best talent in the AFL now. They've obviously gotten six or seven top ten draft picks the last couple of years. I think they still in need of one to for to support Benny King One to all defend of supports Sammy Collins and I think apart from that, I I can they least he's nearly ready. Apart from that, all they need to do is really focs on fitts because, as you bloys said, they fell at the end of the year, which Iste often tended to do. But I reckon those first obviously six seven weeks of the season, the promise they showed was absolutely unbelieable. It was. I remember watching the Adelaide game and they just absolutely torch them, and I was obviously Adelaide, but they played like a top four team. And just to back on your point, boardy, about staying their own beds us, that's what Richmond does every single week of the camp. So the top for every year. So I'm yeah, I'm going to give him a seven out of ten. I reckon they're ready for a rise. Ire in the talent I've got was awesome. Obviously Maddie roll to come back in the midfield is set being F Sammy Collins, I had to give it to him because he's already one. It felt a bit job, not too most improved, just quality last year. I'm going to give it to Hugh Greene would. I just think he was awesome for them again this year, especially in the absence of what a six Gameer Mat real. He was an awesome feeling of their midfield. So I'm going to give it to him. Yeah, Hugh Green would swept both awards. For me, I have to say, someone should hire me in there. I fell I think my whole super coach team from two thousand and eighteen has one the most improved here for me predictions for next things, and they're brow been directing. They're making the eight. No, no, but third a. Now we'll be all right. But I think they're still I agree with Piellach. I think when they do make it, it'll be like a really quick ride. which way do you reckon they'll finish? Yeah, I've got them at eleventh. Actually, I think they would be. I think they'll get a little bit better, but they're not quite ready to make the big jump. And Rowe, I've got him. Yeah, nine, nine to ten. I didn't really do a lot of preaching before this. I've just sort of got roughly when. I'll bet I've got him just missing out, but I'll include eight in that bracket as well. So I've got them like eight to ten, eight to eleven. I just reckon. They have potential to make funs. Next to this I got yeah, it's tough to pretty next year because there's quite a few teens. It's bit of a log jam. There's like a few teams trying to push up and there's few teams who have slowly like declining, but they're not really accepting their crap. That's real trade period in the draft really. Yeah, I stream one or two players either way could make a big different, though. Yeah, that's a good point. Or our next up? We got Hawthorne Pilch Lead US off, mate. They're talking about blokes that are still clinging on to premiership windows, Alice to Clarkson and Hawthorne. But yeah, I don't know. They luck. They beat Brisbane and Richmond early on in the year, but since that they must have won the wooden spoon. After though, after about round four, they were just absolutely horrible and look future. Future looks shocking as well. BE IN F slim pickings. But Jack Gunston made the Australian squad kicked a lot more goals than I thought. Was Quite surprised to see him third in the common and most improved. Absolutely no one to pick from, but I've gone with our boy Jack Scrimshaw. Pretty much stole we could.

I picked him up in super coach and he average about eighty five for me at Dsix. So he so I got a soft spot for him all. Right, next up. Right. Yeah, so they finished fifteen for hawks. I can't say them finishing high next year. I've got a bottom for especially if dunston leaves. Lans rumor to leave. So I think of the start of you asked question who was going to keep goals to the hawks aside from Dunston. Was it O'Brien, Patton, Lewis like which? Which one was going to merge? Obviously no closer to the answer. I have no idea on any of them. I think at the moment dods war will just needs to take it to another level. He's obvious had a lot put in the shoulders last couple of years and he's been awesome. I think he's got the tential to be one of those big breakout players. But yeah, I don't know if you boys watch. I know bought you for I would have watched before the game. Fuse go on channel ten or a while ago. I'm going to give a toll of the week of water clock. Oh, just spitting the dummy every single week when his side loses. I SPEC he's one of the big flaws in their system, the fact that he's just holding him back from a much needed rebuild. Bingf I'm going to give it to Gunston. Pretty obvious. You know, Tommy Mitchell wasn't at his best. Most improved was also our voice scrim I remember playing full guys, if you pilled you said you'd brought in scripture this week, and I'm a couple of times after us a lot he's it'll be absolutely laughing. I'm going to give them a four out of ten. Brody. I mean it gives me a lot of the light to see them stuff of this year. We're going to champion team. I would think of them and right to see that they're just going to be really bad, probably for a long time now. I mean they've got a couple of young players that show some promise, bunch of old blakes and if there are any blokes in their prime they're like half injured, like they mirror and guys like that. So they're going to struggle for a long time. Yeah, I had to stay in Bing F and most improved. You guys, gunsten and Scrim sure, screw, he's getting the love. Yeah, it was people, let's be honest, but he was one part that can hold his head up high. He definitely improved it. became a regular AFL player this year, so good on him. Yeah, I gave him a three out of ten. They're going to have a long time of suffering, I think. Yeah. So for my awards, obviously some done on votes, so it sky on the played half the season, but sisily wanted. I recognised him. I think he was winning my Oru was either like second or third videos, right up there for my brownlow when he went down injured. So Yep, shout out to Sicily. And Yeah, most improved screamy. It'll be interesting to see how he goes when cicily comes back, because I think he was kind of filling that role a little bit that they do have different skill sets, so will be interesting to see how they work together next year. Yeah, most improved screamy, who started us off was a rose or pilch. I think. Where do you reckon they're going to finish next year? Mate, firstly, I forgot my writing. I gave him a two out of ten. I believe that was my lowest rating. And next year the wooden spoon for the Hawthorn Hawk. Love to see it's a rowly. I've got him sixteen. I definitely have a bottom full side. I maybe could switch them in the bombers around six hundred and seventeen. But yeah, the moment on sixteen. broady. Yeah, thinks pain. All right. Next up we've got John Horse Longbis. Sydney swans are really johnna starts off. Sure, mate. I think we noticed from the swans this year is just another little bit of a rebuild season. It wasn't ending too spectacular. I think they've obviously need a bit more talent before they make a top a push. They've obviously got the emergence of robottom and fly in all those blokes. I think they're building nights the few blokes in the engine room. They're also going to get a couple of top fifteen midfielders in the draft and if you always know its guys called Brandon, Campbell and there are golden are absolute guns. So they're going to get a few more young kids there and I think I don't haven't pushing for top A. I've got him. Well, I won't do it that a pretty yet, but I think they've got a much better side on paper with Isaac Haney in there. I think a fit Isaac Haney was really mix this year. I think it just basically concluded that they're going to make a top a push. But I think the talent I've got on the list, plus the experience that they've want the list, obviously meant that they got a few big scalps. Obviously end of the D season nearly torch the cuts chances of top for so I think private folks for the next year's just going to be moving up a couple of spots. I don't see them making top A, I don't think they expect themselves to, but I think top up a couple of spots will...

...definitely be the main priority for them. Being sorry, I've got Luke Parker and most improved James Robottom. I'm going to give him a five out of ten might be a little bit high, but at the end of the day they did come sixteen. I think they've got a lot of talent on this. Something they're going to push in a few years. Brought it yeah, I think they did a really good job of sort of rebuilding on the run with here that a lot of injuries. The key players like Heney and buddy and rampy was out prepared Kennedy. So they gave a lot of games to youngsters, which will hold him in good stead for the future. Yeah, but they'll they won't make the eight probably for a couple years, but they're going to be fine. They're well coached now competitive with a lot of games this year. My being F went to I've probably my I see a bit cheaching pappers. I know he's staying at Sydney. I know he's staying a sting that you know. I got a give some love, love, love the way he plays his footy. I mostly improved was bit left field. Tom McCarton. He played like the last six, d eight games I reckon as a backman and actually showed a lot of promise then. I think they might lock him in for the next ten years as a key defender instead of a forward. I gave him a six out of ten. Considering all their injuries, I think they did a reasonable job this year and they'll competitive in a lot of games. Yeah, I think we can't actually pulled a few votes for me in the last few rounds. So that's just how I judge when players say don't know much about them in real life. Peach, what do you think? It the Schwannie's? Yeah, I'm a big fan of the big hall. I mean he's a great bloke and I blackened to a back him to pull off the rebuild, but I don't think it's gonna ny. It's going to come anywhere anywhere soon. Maybe in a couple of years, but being F pappers, same with body and most improved. There are a few here. I went Jordan Dawson. I think he's pretty underrated in their back line. Good left foot. See how I went him. But yeah, McCarton mccartner be a great player. He was out marking Big Charlie Dixon against port a couple times, so not many players do that. Liam Jones definitely cannot do that. But yeah, yeah, my awards were the same as Roy Parker and robottom. Next year's pretty big ear for Sidney, I reckon. I think their list is like I know they're rebuilding well, but I think they've got a few players who are just at the end of their prime. And if like I don't know. I think they've got a few decisions to make if they have another bad year next year, as to whether they let some players go because you got blocks like JP, Kane, park or who like. If they're going to be a bottom four team, there's not really much point having them there and like buddies earning like a million year and he doesn't play Footye. So, but I think next year's a big one for them. I think they've got to show some promise, otherwise there might be some disision decisions made. Their pill trob we're going to say, did you guys hear buddy like took the bins out a few nights? They're pretty pretty big, pretty big news surfacing on twitter there. But Anyway, I continue wait. Is there a is that a like a metaphor of something, or is that genuine article? They're like breaking news on twitter. Franklin got saying taken the bins out. I think one of the journalists then tweeted a few days later. It was like being news brewing and Sydney coming up and all the comments were just like buddies took out the wrong being or broke in the be what did yeah, all right, Riley, where you have them coming next year? I've got him outside of the bottom. I've got him, sorry, I've got him above the bottom, for I don't think they're in the bottom forward I've predicted, but because the big log jam of teams two thousand and Sixty and twelve four and I've got him sitting a roughly thirteen fourteen. I reckon they they listen, town is a bit better than that. All I can say in falling will certain nicely and ready to cutapole them up into finals and the views after that. Broady, what about you, forty? But it wouldn't surprise me if they finish your fair bit higher, like if they get down a heear selling danner hair and buddy of fit and firing next year and you got heiny and ramping and these guys back like they could easily push for the eight they've been unknown. This one's for me, pilch. I've actually I've got them at sixteen. I hope it's not the case because I fropp the swannies, but I mean if they do get all those players back, including Franklin, then they will probably finished quite a bit higher than that. Next up we've got. We're heading into a relevant territory here. Voice. We've got the least watch AFL nurl professional sporting team, north Melbourne. So brought it join to kick us off. What do you think of the Kang is true? Facts wouldn't stuff? Yeah, there was a sorrow graph on twitter today. They were last. Yeah, PORT ADELADE was second last. Interesting Leono. Anyway. Well, I can't...

...see them getting many more viewers in the next few years, that's for sure. I mean the way that they brought in reshure and they thought that they were genuine finals contender, and they did look it after the first like two rounds of the season, and then I don't know what happened there, but a lot of problems obviously occurred. I mean they're going to have a really rough time of it the next few years, you think. You know, feel a bit sorry for resure. He probably thought they probably thought he was inheriting a list it's better than actually is. But they've got a few aging veterans and a lot of young talent that isn't overly rated. I don't think. My B and F is the Big Goldie, super consistent Rapman. You know he's a he can hold his head up high every week. My most improved was jet Anderson, a real hard nut around the footy get sort of tackles contested ball. He's someone I don't know. He probably North wouldn't probably get rid of him, but I like reckon a lot of clubs might be asking the question of him. My writing couldn't really get much lower. One out of ten. There are a mile off where they thought they were. They going to be in for a long few laying year in my youth pillage. Yeah, similar with a couple other teams. Just putred from North Melbourne. Kind of fear bad for resure because he's pretty much he's been shafted. But Um yeah, actually I gave my Ben F to Jed Anderson Actually, which is stiff on Goldstein, but I think he's a gun and I'm starting him as super coach next year. Probably. It'll probably ruin my season but I'll do it. And most in most improved. Luke Davies was the tops up between him and Simpkin, but Lukey Davis because he was a myth last year. He's good now. So the big UDL I don't think about is who you picking your super coach teammate, because you'll have Robbie Gray and burn Jones just ruining your team. So go found wrong that if anyone else doesn't matter. Roll. What did you think? Yeah, look for Essen and I had two words. I had not good for north of just got really not good. Yeah, when a similar position with the Hawks, obviously had a bit of self belief. I'm gonna go over. I'm going to go with cockiness. That they thought at least was good enough. Obviously I've got the aging veterans talent. That's not very talented at the moment. Yeah, I can't see him. I've got him finishing the spoon. I'm just going to spare my prediction now. I think elder, you obviously good, good young player. Blood's boy, him and Simkin be handles of the footie. I don't overall rate that kicking at the moment, but I have bled had super coach my tent. I had so much I've simple in my super coach team the second half and they killed me every time he got the ball. But yeah, I think they've just got a draft, draft and draft. It's going to be rough few years for them, but there's only one way out of it and I was just to get talents. Main think they've got to focus on is getting support for Larky now that Ben Brown's leaguing. Otherwise there is you know, there is cool. There's a Turk on Thanksgiving without any more toll forward presence up there because like he's what he's he was. He's been a promising player, but he's hasn't got much fifty games yet. No one else you can kick goals with him be now, if I'm going to go with Goldie, absolutely shafted him another episode of on the ball because I just forgot about him. I think was in the season review. I've got a good most proved obviously can and it didn't. But I'll give an honorable Mene to Luke McDonald's. His second half of the year was bit of was bit of an emergency, emerging standout defender. He'll be in my stupid coach game next year. Yeah, I'm going to go a one out of as well as not much positives there at the moment. For Rowy, we hit picking same thing that. Yeah, I've got Goldie and Luke McDonald. Luke McDonald, I think it's actually a decent player. Like in two thousand and seventeen or something, but he kind of lost it a bit. They'd tried him in a few different positions, like a bit further out the field, but he went back into defense this year and will the second half of this year. I think you tagged in the first two rounds and yeah, they chucked him back in defense and he did well. This is probably an unpopular opinion, but if after North Fan I'd be happy. Like ever since I've been in Melbourne they've just been the most irrelevant team, sitting in and or out, like just outside the eight, but they've never really actually like you've just known they were never going to be good, like they just had an average team, like they were. There was never any youth there. So I'm kind of glad they're just starting from a scratch because I don't think they were really going to achieve much just by lurking around twelve ages. So, like, I'm sure it's going to be a really painful few seasons, very minimal wins, but like at least there's some sort of paths to success...

...in the next like ten years because I think over the lot, well, since my time Melbourne, since two thousand and fourteen, I think they made the finals once and apart from that they were just but between ninth and thirteen, like every year barring one, I think. So I don't know, I feel like there's more, not positivity there, but like I feel like in the future they're going to be good thanks to the clean out that's occur ring. But Um, are we all going wooden spoons next year? Roll, rolly, pretty did it? Broady? Do you agree with him? A big fat wooden spoon? Which one, the first one over, which one, the only one? Over the next five years? And I'm going with a big bold prediction here, but the next few years, with their lack of on field success, could send them down to Tasi and that'll be our ating call, I know, but I think they're going to really struggle post covid to recover any money and we know that they're one of the weaker financial clubs in the camp. So unless the IFL bales them out, they might be sent off down, say out. So you go on the spoon, pilch Dave Spoon to Hawthorne. Probably should have given it to north, but I hope hawks come last, so I gave it to them. But North seventeens probably both on in twenty three. I write the TASI call. They would make them a like, even though you'd think going to Tussi is the most relevant thing you could do. But it would make them not irrelevant in my eyes, because to me they're probably the least like important Melbourne footy team. But yeah, finally, look, there's not really much to talk about, but we'll give it a crack anyway. The crows. broady. Anything to say about the crows made on our wow, at least there's some positives after a few wins late in the season. I mean, otherwise it would have been really bad doing a strain the BNF rory. Lad for me, I think Riley O'Brian won their being F but royal ad moving into the midfield. He helped him a lot, especially in the last half dozen games at the season most improved. I had been keys sort of an underrated midfielder but does the job. Often was tagging the opposition's best midfielder and he made big strides this season. I actually don't know why I gave him a three out of ten. Probably very generous with my writing, but I don't know. Maybe their last few wins just gave me a bit of hope. We didn't have much expectation. To be fair, I think you two predicted them to come second last, if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, like I guess, if we're going based off expectation, it's not like the worst season's pretty bad, though, peelch. Anything else to add? What? Who won? Your being F and stuff? Yeah, joke of a season, absolutely joke, but Riley O'Brien, Ben F pretty stiff. Condon. Wish I'd chosen the laird now just because of what he did to a super coach team, but I've gone for a Brian and most improved. Also Been Keys, and then a two out of ten for the Ray. That really what about you? Well, for the upload. FEANS listening and of gotten through fifty minutes. I'll give him a quick review because I, like you boys, taught some of it. Shocking year, obviously, and getting expected more. Yeah, a lot of the season they look like, which is heart so I just remember one of the goals that north kicked on him and it's north. Obviously they've gone coast to coast with about four kicks. There was would have been more pressure and under nine's game, but we'll ignore that. Will move past that the last they're finished of the year. That obviously got three in a row. They've got more wins is at Temer than Essen and in the past decades. I reckon they can really use Adelaide over to their advantage. I can they can use it as a weapon. Little obviously bold prediction like wall he's made. I reckon they could, maybe not next year, but figure become I reckon they could turn it into the Eagles Subiaco, just create an absolute fortress down there and just just walk away win after win, because I think that's the end of the day, what got them over the line against the giants and let the Hawks so a game, a lot of momentum going into the game against cult and whether actually able to do it away from home. So I reckon that could be a little secret weapon, just turning the home ground into an absolute just fortress. Said, I think Brad crouched leaving would be the best thing for them. Honestly, I don't think he's part of their next midfield which would possibly let them get picks one and two, which would be awesome for their talent link lad and keys big in the midfield for the next few years. Led obviously done in there now, as we all know. So the next stage for them is just eliminating the whiches hearts games and just at least being somewhat competitive. One see much of in the first half of the year. So being out for give it to Riley O'Brien, just because it's one it already. Yeah, really good...

...year from him, even though he's sort of dog nick that knew we point in there, but most improved. Yeah, I've Gone Been Kay's as well. He actually got date listed by the lines. It was also born magnet news draft here, and he's turn into a pretty decent tagger who cost me a scare when they play the lines and he nearly stops mocking heel from getting the group one. Most such as, but it's all good. He softened the Tearg the agreement. Three five rating just because hard. I'm finishing second last and they've come last, which obviously isn't great by yeah, I've got two point five. Yeah, congratulations to Adelaide. They picked a lot of Port Adelaide Games for the worst half of football I've ever ever witnessed. I think it was against Freo in about round five. Both teams will winless. If I'm not mistaken, was the first half. It was a sad day harbough. It was the worst half of footy I've ever seen. I think there was like this viral video on twitter of like Matt, Matt Crouch and Brad Crouch. They hand bought it to each other like four times before one of them kicked it just back sideways. So that kind of kind of showed what those two are about. Filthy, dirty hogs. But yeah, in terms of my awards, O'Brien and laird shared the being and improved, even though it was his first year. I actually had Shane mccadam, so you can't really improve if it's your first year, but I thought he was pretty decent but yeah, keys, I rate. Like I remember, I watched a few of their games in the first like six or seven rounds and I actually thought Ben Kys was a bit of unsung hero. Maybe I just noticed in more because you know he's got that Weird Bloody Emperor Penguin Haircut thing going on. But yeah, Roddy, what about your prediction? Deven eight? Keep playing the kids and that's all. PILCH. Yeah, I torched them in my review before, but I do write Maddie Nick's I then use actually a very good coach. He just got shafted with an absolute trash can of a of a team that they did. They showed good signs at the end sort of planning it around. So they're making the jump next year up to fourteen. For me really yeah, I've got to make it a bit of a jump to sixteen. I reckon. Obviously those few wins they and gave me a lot of hope. They're obviously able to beat Colton, who we all name, me one person in he had massive expectations for. They were able to beat them away from home in an away games, or I can that's a little sign of the future. I can lay it's going to be a massive breakout player for them and they used to come as a midfielder and just a few more draft picks that they're going to get, they're going to have potentially three to ten as the years he playing the kids. Like broughd he said, and I reckon, there is definitely one more like the end of the soul for them as there is for a clump of war Hawthorn or rest of them. But that's it for the teams you haven't made finals. Before we go that, I want to ask you all the question. Will start with Rowei because he finished us off there. which coach is under the most pressure heading into the two thousand and twenty one season? For I reckon, it's not in terms of pressure is and where he loses his job or not, but just pressure overall. I reckon been rutting. Obviously he's been left with a massive task. I think they've obviously losing a bit of their list, they've lost a lot of faith from their supporters and he's now been left with the reins. He's going to be the solo coach. I can all. I was going to be on round one or been rotten to see what EST did shop brody, think you have to top my head got to be the Leon Cameron if they don't make finals next year. I know he's signed a new contract that he has to go with that least, and yeah, he's under the pump the my pilch. Yeah, I would have definitely said Leon Cameron, but given that he's just signed another extension, I'll probably say Simon Goodwin. To be honest, he's already been under quite a bit of pressure and if if they drop off sort of come like twelve next year, which I expect them to do, I think he might be out of a job in two thousand and twenty two. Yeah, I'll throw a horse into the mix. I know he's a quality coach. They've done a lot of good things in the last ten years, but the last two or three years they've underperformed every single season, while this year we were expecting it. But I think next year, if he gets you know buddy and a few others back to full fitness, they bring a few big names for him. If they can't make a bit of a leap, not into the eight or anything, but just show a bit of promise for the future, I think he could be in a little bit of a trouble. Wait, final question. I'm just sorry. Should we should probably give clocks and a shout out here. Yeah, I was just going to say. How many is of horse on being bottomed for? Does clocks and get till they get sacked? Roy? Well, I just I just think he's been a KNOB ever since they've become unsuccessful. I'm giving him next year. I can they'll keep his...

...hands off in but near to the end of the year, when they finish seventeen, like they've predicted, like a pretty did, or sixteen? I reckon allwise, be on him and if we ask this questions once time, or I can, he'll be the the main coach that's under the moon or broady. How long do you think he's got? I don't think they'll sacking me or to but I think we'll go somewhere else. I think you'll give up with a rebuilt he's probably a bit being a rebuilt coach and and one of those may decide maybe hasn't quite been at to get over the Hump, might down taking so I yeah, I reckon maybe the end of the year. Maybe another team might take them on. Peach show me. Stay with the hawks. kind of depend if he grows a set of nuts and actually reboards plays a young team. If he does that and they, you know, show a bit of promise. So I think you'll be right, but if he doesn't, then they've got to get rid of in. Yeah, thanks for the episode, Boys, it's been a good one. I'm looking forward to the season next year. Obviously this one's not over. Got Finals starting on Thursday nights and it's going to be a good final series, but there's a lot of these bottom ten teams that are looking to jump up next year. So hopefully, if crowds are allowed, should be, there's going to be a few good games to go to next year, even if you know they're not finals teams, because there's a few exciting young teams here. Before we sign off, though, let's get a finals did we do a finals prediction last year, last week? Don't other did we say he's going to win the flag? Remember? But all right, Rowy, WHO's winning? Saint killed a bulldogs? Well, I'm not going to say the dogs. You know, all the same time, all the way, we're going to play the loser of the lines and the Tigers, which, regrettably, I think the line, the tags all wins. I reckon saints lines. Wait till the finals. Bring it on, O Hoy Pilch, how do you think, Paul? It's going to fair dark do I want to talk about it, mate, just I'm avoiding. I'm avoiding it until it actually comes. I'm not going to make a prediction. And Brody, who are you tipping in the other two matches? Unfortunately, Richmond, as much as aboves me, and probably West Coast at home. Can't go past the Eagle. It optus. All Right, thanks for joining me. Boys, if you've gone to this point, congratulations, very good effort. Listening is far and yeah, looking forward to the finals. Hope you too, you guys are as well, and enjoy the rest of you week. Say, I'm going to get us up to that one our mark, because this is going to kill my RCITA. There is an artist and spotify will check is he does a he does a remix of every afel song and the freemantle song is an absolute banger and it's not just get's. I listened to it not just because it's nail fell song, but just because it's just an absolute bang. I'm going to whip it out once we're out of COVID. But yeah, an artist on spotify will checkers. He does for every team. Go give them a watch because they're absolutely unbelievable. Yeah, yeah, make that the Instagram, the audio just I'm going to whip it out after covid just that.
