Welcome back to the onboard podcast. This is episode a hundred and nineteen off the show and we are once again joined by angus row. How are you mate? Bit Flat after the weekend? Mate, I'm right now. How are you? Yeah, I'm very well. Thanks, actually, can't lie. Forgot about that. The Easter weekends bloody long one. The round went for at a chocolateate five days. Yeah, a lot of weight gain. But yeah, sadly not a great weekend for some teams, your team included. But we'll get into that, into it in a little bit. We're just talking about next round and how hectic it is. But right now I think pretty much any round the AFL stages is going to be hectic because there's just so many teams that predictable and there's a lot of teams that could be anyone on their day. So it's an exciting time in afl at the moment and yet a lot of good footy being played. Some huge blowouts, though, it has to be said, over the weekend, which was bit weird. But then there are also some you know, there's a buzzer beater and stuff like that, so it's all over the joint of the moment. But we love to see it. Bags being kicked as well, which I know a lot of people are enjoying seeing. And not from the regulars, bloody, not from a from the regulars, from Josh Kennedy, not from Jeremy Cunning, from Harry mccarr and Josh Bruce. So that's an interesting but winners and losers, mate, let's know, we may as well get into it. Who are the big winners for you coming out of round three the AFL? Well, nearly for the or just about the third week in a row, I think the biggest winners of the swamps. You know, they toppled over a tigers that the G who, I've basically a formidable task and they just beat them playing Richmond style of Footie, I think John Long might put it. They also had their third rising star nomination in a row with Chad Warner getting it. So yeah, they were massive winners on the weekend. They just showed that, you know, hypothetically, if they got September, they could beat Richmond at the g. So now the big winners? Well, obviously lines. You know, have that big debacle with the covid and everything was sort of stranded in Bolbourne and got the win over Collingwood. You know they deserved to last week as well. But you know who could have scripted Zach Bailey to kick the wing goal after last week's occurrence is I mean you could not have scripted that any better. The bombers obviously great winners this weekend and I've said and the Eagles obviously put in a master class against the I think the flag favorites Port Adelaide. They were, yeah, incredible. There were some huge weekends from some teams who we may not have been expecting it from, but we probably should start to expect it from Sydney now. They are three. Know they've had an incredible start. They just they beat Richmond pretty much most areas off the ground. I think every stat they won, except for like tackles and pressure acts, which is pretty impossible to beat Richmond out. They had sixty two inside s to forty seven, which is pretty dominant when it comes to AFL. I was looking at some of their future fixtures. They've got Essen and then they've got gws and then they've got the Gold Coast. So the way those three teams of playing well. Esen obviously had a good win on the weekend. But what we maybe, if we look back around to how we thought those three teams of playing. Yeah, they could definitely be six in our and from six in our I don't think anyone's pretty cly them to miss finals. They assume they've got some tougher games coming up after that because they have only well, they did play Brisbane and they have played richmond. So or's like they've had a soft draw. But essendon got gws and Gold Coast. Is A soft run. But yeah, they look like they're like right now it's probably even odds of going six and O if not in their favor, which is just incredible. I says say. I think people where we predicted in preseason, like fifteen, sixteen. I think everyone had them. Is a sort of if you team and that sort of you know, ten to sixteen range, that sort of stereotype. It will give him a couple of years with the young talent bloy. It's a young talents awesome. Yeah, and it blown every and away. Yeah, this week buddy comes back into the side of being rested in robottom also comes back after a niggle he picked up in round one. So there's somehow and they're going to get better. So yeah, incredible start from Long Mayer and his side. I actually thought why, I think I said talked about it in the preview to last season. I thought John Longmi was under a bit of pressure. But think you showed how good of a coach he is with how fast that rebelt rebuild has taken place and the complaints about the city son's academy is already started, which is unsurprising. But anyway. And Yeah, you touched on the West Coast Eagles. I think they're another huge winner coming out of it. The two teams they beat, port and Richmond, are playing against each other this week, which is an absolute blockbuster. But will you about that at the end of the potty. But Yeah, west coast. They've had a pretty incredible start to the season. Really.

They have had a loss, but it was to the dogs by seven points out at marble which, after that north result, looks like a pretty good performance from west coast. They pretty comfortably dispatched of Gold Coast as well and round one, and this is all with injuries in their midfield. Yo's not playing. shooey. I think was these first game back or something like that. On the least first game back and now is out again for bet a month here. Yeah, so they're having issues in that middle getting people in the park, but their Ford lines killing it. Their back line looks like the best in the COMP and Nick Nats having an awesome starts of the year as well. They under clearance battle against port for thousand one hundred and twenty seven, which is pretty good. I think port's right up there with the clearances in the last couple seasons. blokes like broken wines are usually freakish, and William drew, yeah, my drew and yeah, they kicked sixteen goals twelve behind. So you could have argued they should have won by more if it wasn't for a fourth quarter while I wasn't a comeback, but junk time scoring from port. Yeah, could have been a fifty plus, like seventy marginal. I don't know what the margin end up being, but it could have been a lot bigger than it was. And in the next few weeks they've got sat Kildo Marvel, which the bet the bookies is suggesting is an absolute sitter. And I've watched sink Hilda's last couple games to in depthe but like that on paper that's a tough game. Sank killed a mom I know you might think otherwise after watching the last eight quarters of footy. And then they've also got the cuts in two weeks at the category. But after that they've got a really easy stretch of fixtures for about five or six weeks. So if they keep this form up, they could easily be have only to or one or two losses come like round ten and they'll be in a prime position to host to home final in September, which would be pretty tough for any opposition to go over there and win in September. So yeah, beautiful starts from those two teams. Essendon, I wanted to talk a lot like. I know it's tough you to talk about it because same Kilda, obviously on the other side of that coin, didn't have a great game. But what happened with the ESSENDAL game? I was playing cricket so I didn't see it. But did they play well? It's thank you will just play awful. Honestly, I knew it was. It was definitely a balance to Saint Kilda. It wasn't so much playing bad, while it was obviously playing bad, but it was more just not trying and just lack of effort and hot which, you know, it allowed Essendon to flourish and I'll lay out, you know, players like parish and whatnot to sort of get these thirty five disposal games. And obviously you know they've got the talent, as they showed the weekend, to do so. But I think we really let them just take advantage of us and really let them show what they can do when granted the opportunity. So yeah, honestly, as much as I'd love to sit here and say that, you know we tried hard, we really battled it out, but we made them perform to their best. We really let them dominate us, and that's that's no down or on Esse it. And you know they played very, very well. But look, we played. I'm putting North obviously is the bottom performer this week, saint to seventeen. I'm putting us there, so which is of sure everyone else would be as well. So it all honestly, wasn't hard for essence perform the way they did. But Yeah, little credit to him. They smashed us and it was a world deserving true for them. Yeah, do you think it's real punic time for St Kilda or do you think finals is still well and truly on the cards? I wouldn't say. I wouldn't say well and truly on the cards. I will wait until we get to my lighter predictions. But you know, these this first month, or like the first four weeks for the saints, we needed, or first three weeks we needed at lat you know, at least two wins, because you know gws, Melbourne and s and you want as a top eight, top for touted team, you need at least two wins from those games. And the two losses that eventuated weren't bad skill, they were bad heart and bad you know there would it was just selfishness. Wasn't playing for the jumper or anything, which is, you know, in an essence, nearly worse. We've seen what's happened to gws. You know they've got abundance of skill, but you know it's almost like selfish, not really playing for the jumper and whatnot. So you know not many people really want to be there, giving the amount of people that leave. So it's almost harder to turn around a mental defective new game just because you know the loss after loss due to lack of efforts really gets gets down in your players. So I mean there's nowhere to hide. This weekend we're playing west coast and they we're playing richmond the week after and then, I think, port the week after that. So there's genuinely nowhere to hide. Look, if we can get one win out of those games, honestly, I...

...like I'm still, you know, cross my fingers finals if we if we one and five, it's pretty bloody hard to recover from finals, especially then we've got the toughest fixture in the comp this year. So look, at the moment my gut, unfortunately, is starting to tell me no, but I still we've as we saw last year. Know, we've got the tell me, ability to make the eight. So all we've just got to do is, you know, we need steely to rev up the troops. We need few of the boys to enjoy a trip to the bell or something just to get the coveraderie back and just show a bit of heart and passion. So and you know, not letting blokes from the opposition streaming, or not even streaming, just jogging through the ground and into the inside into the Ford fifty and just having free marks and free players everywhere. You know, we need to show a bit of effort and just grind it out first two or three hours, because those two and three hours of what part of these players are paid to do. So look, if we can turn around, I wouldn't mind a loss this weekend as long as we just showed some their fit, because the weekends effort was appalling. I you know, it was the first time I've turned off the saints game, and sorry to praddle Lot, but it's first time I've turned off the saints game, you know, in maybe three years or something. I turn it off midway through the second quarter because it was we were getting smashed by eight, nine ten goals, but it was more the fact that we just weren't trying and, like I leeterally, I even pointed out, Jack Steel was jogging at one point in just the first quarter. After he was Mason Redman who strolled into the fifty and they kicked the goal and still was only a couple meters away. Credit to him. He was our only player on the day. But it's just should goes to show that we just did not try. It wasn't all if it wasn't like a skill to a degree, but we at the end of the day. It just just didn't try and it wasn't the effort there. So, yeah, that's it. That's what some res An. I feel your frustration and saw warning outraged on twitter as well. He's not happy with it. But I guess some positives coming out of well, not the weekend but the week. Patty riders back to training should be I don't know if he's playing this week, but it should be back soon. Not yet. Yeah, and row Marshall can't be far away either. Might be this week, might be next week. Yeah, and then one good thing, I guess, is now in the next three weeks you're pretty much going to be heavy underdogs, like you are this week against West Coast. So yeah, I think the expectation which maybe play the part in this disappointing last two weeks, is almost completely gone again. So it's almost three three hits. But let yeah, like you said, you don't be one in five trying to go for that top eight. So hopefully they can turn it around and cause a few upsets over the next two to three weeks. But yeah, you mentioned it before, the eighteen worst. Oh my guess, eighteen best, top worst performer of the week. I don't want to harp on about them too much this year because everyone knows they're going to be pretty average. But the Kangaroos like you can't lose by hundred twenty eight points, I'm sorry, and it's like Jacks Bruce Kitsune. You'll yeah, you can't lose by that and expect not to be roasted. So Yeah, look, they let the dogs go at seventy percent efficiency inside fifty which is pretty insane. I was looking at some of the other games around the competition and I think I don't know what like the League averages usually, but most of the other games I saw it was between forty two undred fifty five. It's so they were going on. It's in. It's seventy percent. And when I was watching in the last like last part of the third quarter and the fourth quarter, legit, every time they went into was gold like they were just like strolling in finding an open man something. Now kicking a goal is just look like there was no one like it. If I was going to guess, I would have guessed it was eighteen verses twelve. But yeah, the Kangaroos were just rubbish. They won the hitouts, but that thirty four to seventeen, but they lost the clearances thirty seven, hundred and twenty four. So I don't know if that's down to Goldie just tapping it to anyone or the midfield just not reading it, reading his taps or just shirking when they get the ball, but that's pretty poor when you're getting first use like that, and especially north like. Yes, they're not a great team and the dogs midfields insane, but the north like contested ball winners are actually there. Are Right like Jed Anderson's good. Then Cunnington made a come back. Dry simpkins a highly touted player. So you shouldn't be getting dominated in the clearances when you get first use like that. They also lost in contested possessions a hundred and fifty to a hundred and two. So it's pretty poor. But they've got Adelaide this week which I think will be a pretty big test. It's a home game for them at a later heavy favorites going into it after obviously this promising start to their season, and if they let out aload walk all over them, it's going to be a very, very long year for North Melbourne supporters. So they need a big showing this week. Otherwise. Yeah, like I don't really know of how you can draw any positives from it if they get pumped by Adelaide. Yeah, do you think the Kang is could put up...

...some fight against the crows or anything? They just completely ratherish. Well, I mean, if we've learned anything in this year and last years, it on any given day any team can beat anyone. So yeah, I expect a bit of fight from north, I think. You know, you gots when it got to the stage is where North for like yet this is going to be over a hundred points of the weekend. They you know, almost just we're just praying for the game to be over. Hence, you know, players were strolling and north just want of the games to be over. They care. Obviously there's like an under nine's game, you know, just like a hundreds of zero. Back in the day was just domination where you're just shivering cold at like thirty am in the four pocket and the seen the ball for for about three quarters. Just want it to be over. I think I was a similar mindset to the kangas on the weekend. Now I expect them to show up a fight. I do. I do still think the crows all win, obviously, but the crows won't have their Adelaide home ground, which I think is actually a really big advantage, which is what spurred them all the weekend against Gold Coast. So you know, maybe you can north can turn the table and sort of use that to spur them on, because they're all but they're obviously going to have the home crown advantage. I think their fans are gonna get put about this game because it is probably their first sort of winnaball game of the year. But yeah, it does sort of come down to the impact that text has is because he is the main goal kicker in the whole match. Basically, if you can keep text under, it's a tough ask, but under like three goals, then you know north well and truly in it. But you know, if you let text get off the hand or, you know, have twenty of touches and keep four plus like he's done the last three weeks, I don't see anywhere the northoking to win it. They don't really have any attack up for their midfield gets smashed every week. I think Anderson's out again this week with injury and yeah, there backline is a bit under duress at the moment. So now I still think. I still said carries winning. I do see north putting up probably similar to about the amount of fight they showed round one against port. I think it was around one or round two. So figures cross they can deliver, because I did. It is going to be an interesting game to watch. If it was Adelaide ovall, you know, you'd say that carries by like severing dogs, but I do believe in this sort of HRD and crowd spurring on advantage, which is why I'm intrigued to see handled play with it. You know, no, you know, twenty power could come out of fifty touches like he did in this junior days, and ending's possible in the company the moment. So yeah, fingers cross the see what happens. So fingers cross the North Melbourne and hopefully close game occurs. Yeah, and I also need the Kangaroos to step up because if they're gonna keep losing about hundred and twenty eight points, Jack's evil is going to average. I haven't very any sum coach points and I'm like, you don't have him, don't have it. So yeah, if they could captains, if they could fix that because I reckon, if they've become a good team, he'll stop getting the ball and all of a sudden I'll be a genius for not having him. But yeah, so if you don't mind doing that, Kangaroos, they'd be greatly appreciated. Hopefully some some of their fans get out there. That's not the biggest fan base but, as you said, this is a winnable game for them. So and they do have some winnable games in their schedule. I know they plays in a couple weeks. They also play Hawthorne and then they play Adelaide and Essen at the back end of the year as well. So, like they need to step up if they and win these types of games, unless they could be looking at a zero win season. But you never know. It never happens, does it, sirruhly, not really. It just never happened. They can't like to yes and twice and that Adelaide twice. It won't happen, I reckon. Don't gotta Win One of those games and another loser. Want to mention apart from my super coach game, I've had a bloody awful start to the year. The Gold Coast Jadeus. Yeah, huge changers is struggle street. But Yeah, Gold Coast Suns are reckon. They've had a pretty poor start. I think they're flying under the radar a little bit in terms of poor performance because they haven't been getting smashed. So I think people are pretty okay with how they're going. Yeah, they did dispatch north and round two, but I'll I'm expecting a little bit more from the suns. Is Shar from what they've shown us in especially in round one and round three. Else to Adelaide, which we talked about just before. Their home ground advantage is huge, but they up forward. They kicked twelve goals, thirteen behind, which was really the main difference between the teens. If you actually look at the stats, the Goldco sounds pretty much one all the key indicators and it was just that kicking that really cost them. So that's saying they've got a sort out this week. Otherwise a text cracker. Yeah, otherwise I think juid you could be hunder a little bit of pressure because he has been there for a little while now. The signs they showed last year was very promising, especially after the resumption after lockdown, but it looks like they've almost staggedated a little bit in the back end of last year in the start of this season. So they've got some big weeks coming up for well, steward you, but also the whole side, because they don't want to do it. Gws Didn't just hit the...

...ceiling and then never go on with what everyone was expecting them to go on with, become like a dynasty. They want to keep going and reach those heights. So hopefully for the suns they bounce back, because I do like them as a side. But yeah, bit of a disappointing lost our later have to say. Any other losers you want to touch on? I've got two sides written down. It's one of them is poured, but it's more just like a do you know? I know the SAGMENT. It's just a loser for the week, blinding. It's generally just a one week sort of thing for them. They just sort of showed that, you know, they I don't want to say week, when they get when they play away from home, but they're not as they're not the side they are. I think when they play away from home we're especially, you know, not many teams, I when they play, not just against the eagles has been real there it. You need to be more competitive than that. I mean the game it didn't you know, it wasn't a for gold margin game, if that makes sense, which is what the final margin was. It was a e nine, ten goal margin. Port never ever got going at the side of the game. I remember I backed in Port with the Line Nice. I actually took tips port and on Shit whatever done here, because they would think they were five lls down not much time at all. So the other I think they'll. I think they'll put up obviously a much better fight against Richmond. This week they're hosting them Adelaid over, which is going to be a very tough ask for Richmond. So I'm once again very intrigued to see what happens in that game. But yeah, obviously, in front of that later over, I think they're going to get this sort of my jo back. Every team's going to play it out to stay against West Coast all most teams do. So it's a task that every team is faced with and usually come out of the pleading loss. The other team I've got there is GW West. Yeah, they're there the now. I went three up their seventeen for a list that has so much talent and for them to be lower than like Adelaide, for example, is just not where they want to be for a side that played in the flag two years ago. You know, they've got, got players like toby reeen, Toby Green, Josh Kelly, you know, Nick Haynes is like a awesome spine. And you know, to be seventeen staring down a barrel of a bottom for finish, believe or not, from the way they're going right now, it's pretty hard to believe. Kids. I don't needt anyone ever saw it coming. But yeah, they're a massive lucer for me this week. They always had a chance to pincher it against the D's but sort of fell apart in that final quarter that day. Just just overran them. Much better structure and ball movement from the days. I watched the last quarter that game and was just it was really just a tyber green show for the giants. So yeah, the giants are big loss for me and it's it's it's tough to watch them at the moment because of how much challenge you you you want them to be good because, you know, I'm sure all the fans of the AFL in two thousand and nineteen were barracking for Jenerous and that final. They really needed them to win and I want of them to win because everyone hates Richmond, so to see them goes pulling now he is kind of hard to watch. So, yeah, it's not great signs of the giants at the moment. I have a question for you have. How long do you reckon Le on Cameron's going to last? Yeah, I don't think it's much longer. The injuries they started being season. Yeah, he's not coaching in two thousand and twenty two. That's I think that's almost factual at this point. It's just a matter of whether he lasts to the end of the year or not, because, yeah, I think we can rule them out of finals. I think those the injuries they suffered. Yeah, on Sunday I think it was as put a line everything, to be honest, especially when teams like Sydney and Melbourne have started so well, who were in a simple sort of bracket to them coming into the year. And Yeah, Nick Haynes isn't playing as well as he normally does. Josh Kelly looks like compared to Josh Kelly of two thousand and eighteen and nineteen. Don't even know who this book is. Yeah, Toby Green's about the only one who's pulling his weight at the moment and I guess Maddie Flinn's having that. I was I coming. Yeah, either coming is playing well and yeah, Maddie Finns having a crack in the rock. But that's about it at the moment. Jake Riccardi does come back, so I guess that's something to watch out for from a giants war game part of the point of view. But Yeah, Leon Cameron, at this point, I think, why, don't know where he's from originally, but I think he, wherever he is from me, should start to look at housing prices because, yeah, he's going to be out of there pretty quick. Well, if I had to make a prediction, it's a much point sacking in midseason. I don't know. I don't after watching the documentary, I don't like him. I don't like his coaching. I thought he just gets real angry. Like if you look at Adam Sinson and like dimmer, they're very reserved, like they know when they're very composed, even in the pressure moments like they always know...

...how to calm the boys down as well and deliver their message clearly, where Leon Cameron kind just screams. So I'm not the biggest fan, so I'm going to predict you get sacked in about round twelve, but who knows if you're leaving in that far, do you reckon you'll get sacked before the end of the year? or Yes, yes, if they continue this for then yes, I don't see them. You know, they've got Collingwood, then they've got Sydney, so those are too, like I said, winnable games, but they're both teams that have obviously ahead of them, especially Sydney's. So look, if they're if they're a win five, then I think it's only a matter you know, day, weeks, probably weeks. But yeah, I see it as a sort of midseason thing or late season thing, once you know you if you're in finals. If they bounced back and get a few wins and stuff, obviously they're not going to sack him if they're chance of final US contention. So I think it's once they're ruled out of finals I think the question is going to be asked. I don't think they'll do it before that happens, to be honest. But I could well and truly be proven wrong if they're own five and non sins. I don't know if you remember the first episode of documentary put even just some of them methods pilot players, which is a bit trying to think of a better where than obscure he was. Stephen Canelio, you know, got the cut roll and like it, it seemed to the group. was like this weird little that wouldn't always child's play set like that. We want to get from here to here to hear. Yeah, I don't know, I was sort of watching that, just seeing a like. HMM, I'm not sure teams the Richmond will be doing this, and if they were, they wouldn't be getting the same sort of reception, because no was really LAVERYM's random even get a really positive reception. Side and off. It's just sums up some of the things going on over at that joint. But yes, a bit. Yeah, it's a bit of a strange plays and Stein to get a gage of the going to chiants. Yeah, it's it's odd. It's odd times. Yeah, whoever at Amazon decided to follow Sloan and can nearly they've done. Can nearly. Oh dirty, because I have to say everyone leads in their own way. I've played under many different captains in sport but who have different types of leadership. But Jesus Christ, if you can pack an earlier to Sloane, you just want to like, how is this boy giving selected as captain? But yes, sadly he don't to crap on him too much because he is sadly was in a moon boot after the game on Sunday. It looks set to be out for a long time. So that sucks because obviously he's one of the best players when he's inform, which hasn't been for a while now. But guess we get to see the likes of Tom Green stuff get more of a role, which could be interesting. But yeah, I don't really I can't. I have no idea how they've wasted the generation of talent they had and you look at them all just killing it elsewhere in the competition and you just think what could have been. But I think that's enough about gus. It's a sad story and sorrowly Oncomeron, but you definitely have an expiry. They coming up pretty soon, so rolly your top a prediction? Mate, what are your changes for this round? Boy, I was getting really off the type. I I think that's what we're talking we're I've got. I'm as the weeks go on, my top four gets sort of less and less secure, as I guess it was going to happen. But it's almost like you know how every year, you know, there's like a dominant team or two. I think last year is Geelong and Richmond, the DOT and Port Adelaide. Sorry, with a dominant three, and the lines are up there as well this year. I think with every round that goes by there's one less team that goes from that dominant stage. So that no very good stage and it's gone to the point where I don't need there's a dominant team anymore in the camp, which is awesome. I think. You know I hate having these sort of monopoly beings like in the in the premier league, it's just a dominant team and everything like. It's great that now the likes of you know to long important Richmond and everything not like you know, Richmond got touched up with the weekend by a team that played a single style to them. So now I'm really sort of excited to see what teams do against them now, whether they adopt in his method and is this how you beat Richmond? You know, Gelong haven't been near nowhere near as good as we thought they were going to be this year. Their slow ball movement isn't consistent with the rules that have come into place, which is awesome because you know, you don't want a team that's got the class of glongers dominating teams every week because of the talent on their list. Brisbane just, you know, lack of, I think, experience or you know, I think that their least is he's young. In places, you know, their bottom six in game days often pretty weak and stuff like that. And Port obviously can't travel as well as maybe we thought they could, or maybe that's just the...

...west coast thing. So at the moment I've got long in one still, unfortunately, but I'm a lot or less confident or secure with having them in that number one spot, which is great. I love the fact that it's very open. Port I've got a number two just because the only Downer of I think I've got, almost people've got, is the fact they're travel I guess on the weekend of show that they were nowhere near as good as they are at. I laid over on the weekend, but you can easily turn it back, turn it around to your next away game. Three I've got Richmond. I still think I'll be a top four team, but this is where it changes. I've got the dogs in it for now. The power of their midfield is just obviously it's like it's best bill feeling the compy a mile and now with the likes of I know it was against the north, but likes of Bruce and Norton Stein to lift and everything, I was exactly what they needed. And you know, you throw English in there and that's a formidable attack. I'll now got the eagles in at five, because it just our strong their list is that an't really have a weakness. Yes, it's a bit aging and they are getting a few injuries, but they've shown and they've proven that they can push past them. You know, the likes of Tim Kelly stepping up when the midfield gets a bit injury prone and whatnot. So yeah, I've got them at live, defining what I said about them all preseason. I bloody hell, I actually had a finishing a twelve thirty at one point because I thought, you know, slow dis and injuries get the better of them, but I was clearly wrong. I've got a line slipping down to six just because they're not. I don't need they are as strong as many people think they are. I don't think they've got a premiership winning team the moment. Now that you can tag lucky deal very easily. That leaves the likes of, you know, Jared Lyons, who isn't a massively damaging player, Dane's Orco, who's old and has placed hinto the mid in the forward line. ZAC Bailey was a gun but still probably too young. You know, I don't think they'll least that. Sorry, they're their team has as much firepower, as many as, maybe many other teams do. Human coluggage as a beast, but heace is outside and inside more so outside. So I don't know. I've got him at six, Melbourne at seventh. That's it. Eight and I'm interchanging both of them. And I'm not sure Melbourne get to get Ben Brown back soon. And these new rules really suited him because they just put it in front of his hands and these one one contests great for him to allow him to sort of push off his opponent. Do that. And then obviously Sydney. You know, if they go fine, and I I've got that. You know, they're obvious going to go a lot better than eighth. I put I'd put them in at eight before I saw that fixture coming up and realize they can have a serious chance of being five and I so. You know it's a lottery. It's flip the coin between seven and eight. Nold and city the moment for me, and then just missing our we see Colton pies and unfortunately mobile saying Kully Sad. It's I respect that you've taken them out of that sad stuff. I'm it's going to be an exciting race for those positions. I know we're only in around three, but there's already so many teams that look like they can make finals. I think that you would have sat kilda outside. If you top eight after round three, it shows how good the season's been so far. But yeah, actually agree with your Brisbane call. I didn't think they're actually that good. Like all right, if you take Harris Andrews out of that team, I don't even think they are a top eight side. Like he saves them on so many occasions. But yeah, anyway, that like. I guess good on them for having Harris Andrews. But all right, time for our top five lists. This week we are going I saw a click bait article, I think there's from much clear or something on the AFL website, saying it was vogty the best biggest bargain in trade period history or something like that for Carlton laughter. He's impressive. Game on Sunday, so I thought it would be a good day to talk about the top five biggest bargains in trade periods. We are only doing the last five trade periods because I only moved to Melbourne in like twenty so I don't know much about footy before that. But also seems just scrolling through twenty years of trade periods. But yeah, right, you start us off, mate. Five to one. Who of you? which trades do you think of the biggest bargains in history? All right, so going for number five. Yeah, this is last five years. Obviously I've got well, I can't not put him in there. I've got Lucky Neil brownlow winner, and I've said you'd straightaway you'd think bargain because you've done a trade for a brownlow winner. So I think they originally gave up sort of pick six and nineteen and there was a couple of lay exchanges. The reason I don't have him higher is because that pick six was in the super draft, and I'm talking about the draft with Walsh, LACOCI's ranking, the king's Bassl Anka. Yeah, so if...

...the lines chose not to get Neil, which you know im you can't not pulse up a player of neils caliber, and he's only gotten better since he moved. But you know, they would have been able to grab someone from that super draft and every player and that top eight looks like they're get to be an absolute star. It's the first time I seen such a like a you know, that's the first time seem like a top eight and the draft where everyone is good. No, there's usually some baker around, picks two hundred, forty one, whatever. I mean. was that rose, I think as well, yeah, yeah, Rosey, yeah, but it is was later. He was picked twelve. There's some I was like a there's was well, yeah, exactly. So the reason I don't have him higher is because Brisbane could have potentially nabbed, you know, a ban king or kind of browsy or something like that, which obviously I mean. You know, you put them up against Lucky Neal and whoever you get, you're going to be a winner. But that pick six was the most worth you know, it was the most valuable pick six in the last ten, fifteen years. So that's the reason I say that. And also Neil wasn't, unfortunately, able to take them to a flag yet. Last year was obviously a massive chance for them and he obviously on the brandlow, but he wasn't able to take them to a flag, which obviously, you know, top really is back, but he's he was obviously the best player still is. So to get them to a pretty them. You know, I can't have him higher just because there are some absolute bargains next in this list. So and number four. These are obviously bargets. Are Not like play quality number for what Hugh Green would to go into the sun's for a future third and future fourth round few years ago. So I think it was Kane Corns who roasted him for, you know, being such a you know, handle tackle whatever, not like a damaging player and all that. Cane corn's obviously the biggest Nuffi in the AFL industry, and I hope Kane here's is, because you are a genuine flog and I congrats your plane create. You know you're a magnificent player, but you know nothing, and I don't know if it's just to like get some publicity around your name, but look, yeah, you're get comments and remarks at just beyond a joke. But anyway, to get hugh grade woods, this sounds for a third and fourth round peak, especially the stage where no one's really going to the suns except for opportunity. You know, he's I have a feeling he's really helped from a leadership point of view but also from a contested side point of view. They all see got smash in the big field for so many years and I'm sure he's helped with the development of you know, rail and Addison everything, but not to mention becoming one of the best contested players in the AFL. So I think to get him for a third and fourth round peak for the sun's an absolutely by so a number three, I've got Tom Mitchell. He was obviously Brownlow, middle branlow metal winner when he came to Hawthorne. So, you know, to bring it a brown low metal winner is a massive deal. They got him in for peak fourteen and a later exchange of peaks pick fourteen for a browner metal winner. I mean, you take that, he really is the hut inside. They been field. I don't know, there's a lot of debate around Tom Mitchell and you know it's if it's obviously obvious. No, I'm talking about like how damaging is as a player and all that. You know, I saw him in the weekend. You got tags, but when like when he was sort of free at everything, you just saw how much better their movement was when he was involved in the play, because he does enable that streaking play from CJ get, my new favorite player, or he does get that ball out to these awesome areas and he really is a really, really good player and I think a lot of people don't see that anymore just because I think since his brower year he's been a bit injured and the people are sort of doubted how he's got about it or how he plays. Sorry, so I've got a minute. Number three. Number two, jared lions for pick forty three, biggest, one of the biggest steals ever. Obviously lines as one best midfielders in the COMP now way which Taye was. That was that the first one? On the second one, but a stick of what they got him to Brisbane. Yeah, so I'm excluding free agents and stuff by the way here. I wanted their trade. So yeah, so to get him in for a pick, to get jared I player, Jarren lives as caliber pick forty three is unbelievable. You know, it's one of the best contested players in the AFL. He's in integral part of that. Brisbane both feel, you know, if looking neel goes down with injury, lines is their next best mete. So to get someone like that for pick forty three into a team would be the second best midden the team that's, you know, going for a grand final the past few years is absolutely...

...awesome. But the number one biggest bargain. You can't go past Jack Steele for a future second round pick, and I'm pretty sure is the two thousand and sixteen trade period is I remember sitting in history class spam in winter because we're saying kild are about to sign this sort of no name from gws and I just wanted some action there, as I'm addicted trade period follower to see Jack Steal the sexiest man the afl come across the saints and being an all Australian team in last year and just carry the midfield. Ever since Stephen and Armit tyage used to be an absolute freak for one year, since those guys sort of got old and left and stuff, to see him carry this midfield is being awesome because he's, you know, up there in the best contested players in the air fell. He's added the goal scoring ability to him and you saw on the weekend thirty five touches in probably one of the most embarrassing performances from the club that these some one day supports of seen a while. To have thirty five touches and was just unbelievable from him. You know, he's now a captain, so to get him in for pick a future second round of which Jed gws used on Brent Daniels, who is obviously of a pretty good player, but I mean we're taking steal over Daniel's other things. So yeah, I'm sure she said two giants would love to have it back because of hell, they're struggling in the midfield now, having lost shiel and and all these players in previous years and now they're struggling in the midfield. You know they're going to need to runto and Tom Green and all this to step up. Yeah, it's no where I can go past Jack Steal. There's some honorable mentions to some players where it's probably too early to tell, but there were from the last trade period. So Tommy Hikey be kind and lucky fogety. I think of massive bargains in the first three games we've seen. Obviously it's a small sample size, but think their honorable end mentions. But because they are to it to tell, I think I'm going to leave them that little category. Always going to try and include the trade that's killed doogle how to patty rider. But after rider has missed obviously the first few games and he's you know, he's probably got lucky year, if lucky to left in him. So that's I'm going to leave it. Yeah, I can't live my research is fail be here. I've missed a couple key ones there, but I like your top five or I'll just run through. I'm fairly quickly. Number five. It's a very rogue one, but it's jared wits in two thousand and sixteen. I agree. He went for pick forty four and pick sixty four. At the time he was like a fringe collingwood play, didn't even play every game, but he's been, say, consistently a top half Rockman for the Gold Coast Suns and it's probably only the last few years where the midfield is slowly starting to couple as on his service. So he obviously went down with an ACL injury, I think on the weekend, which sucks for the suns, but that yet that was a pretty good trade. Next up I've got dem pressed here and a and pick twenty four, four, pick six and a future second rounder. So if we cancel out the twenty four and the future second rounder, damn press your pick six. Yes, in a lot of cases of pick six can be better than pressed. Yeah, but if you tell a club you're going to draft DEM pressed year at pick six, you're probably taking it. And the fact that he's won three premierships with them think adds some aster on the cake. I think he was also their best and fairassed in like twenty nineteen. So yeah, I think that's been a good one. Charlie Cameron to pick twelve. That's my number three. Obviously one of the best small forwards in the competition probably hasn't been as good in the last couple years as you was when he first moved over. So hopefully he can get back to his best this year. But for pick twelve, I think Charlie Cameron's pretty solid. That was always, I thought, a strange one. That Adelaide. Let him go. Yeah, and then my top too. You mentioned Tom Mitchell and number two. Yeah, just pretty incredible. Brought into all Australian years. Probably would have been more if you didn't break his leg or whatever he did. And yet number one, easily the ne full sixty disposed, will be deep specialist. I remember he would always just he's a bit like Tom Green sort of. In the first few years you just got up and down from the ones of the twos. Every time you'd see on twitter like Jack Steel or forty eight disposals, a hundred eighty super coach points in the Nepal and it was always like who is this bloke? Then you would play in the ones that you do nothing. So I barely actually played. I think that you heat. Yeah, and he got me. Yeah, I think he was like a super coach prospect and then that he would always just play one game, get dropped like a month and yeah, I think I played a handful. But yeah, that's an absolute steel of a pick wall. That's an accident. I was actually I realized as soon as I said it. But yeah, whoever picked him out from stel pretty well done. I think everyone was stiffing around gwus there, but to land in for just a second rounder,...

...future second round as well, it's pretty bloody good work. Or Right. Players of the week. I'll start backs of the week. As usually, I'm just going off that my brown low voting so does favor a few positions, but I've just got to back then. This week, number two I've gone with Jordan Dawson. He picked up the five votes for me, which is the maximum votes if this is your first time listening in the Sydney game. Yeah, the second tied most inside s for the game, which is pretty solid from halfback, most made his game, second, most effective kicks, most in a set marks and most school launchers. So he set up a lot of good scoring opportunities for the swannies. And then number one, I've Gone With Liam Jones. I can't lie. I saw some super coach people getting around Liam Jones and they were kept putting l Jones and I like it. Legit took me so long to clock who L Jones. Redly in Jones. I'll thinking of like Lucky Jones, but I was like he plays for Bow Marris Group Club. Thought doesn't find the end board. I'd like yeah, I was like, did he debut or yeah, yeah, I was confused. But yeah, second most inside s for the game, which is pretty handy. You're probably playing, I guess you could say send half back, so that's pretty random. But second mosts gained, second most effective kicks, most intercepts, most inset marks SEC tied most contested marks on the field. So he was huge for Carlton as they basically just set it up in Fraz half of the whole day. You back to the week we looking at here. Well, number three, I've actually gone Daniel Rich. Twenty eight touches, twelve in the last. So I think the whole Brisban team lift in the last. But rich, I think his drive of half back and through the ground was pivotal for them and obviously got the goal was sister Zach Bailey in the end, which was the match winner. So but he was huge for them. Second of also got leam Jones. Sixteen incepts and six hundred odd meters gained at ninety four percent efficiency for Leam Jones, so he was an absolute monster for them. But number one, becoming one of the breakout plays the last two years, Jordan Ridley. Yeah, who had thirty five disposals, ten marks, nine rebound S. is just it's becoming the norm for him. Now. A few people, especially when deciding on which super coach defender Premo to pick with, sort of we're sort of weighing up who to peek and like. Most avoided Ridley because he's only had that one year of excellence. Most people with, you know, the running defenders of Daniel and short and on land and blot led the midfielder, but one whatnot. But most people sort of shot away from Ridley. Didn't want to take that risk. I, for one, went Daniel loan of o Daniel over Ridley for the exact reason I explained. Obviously, at the moments looked like a big cocker. So Oh yeah, he's an absolute animal. Riddley, I'm is not solely built, but he's just a machine. So yet a get another feature in the best offenders. Yeah, he is actually one of two people to poll and every single game so far. Well, the essence play is not polling another games. Find that. Well, that case he's probably yeah, so he's winning. At the moment. I think he's got twelve votes out of a possible fifteen. Texas the other, but I think I'll dry up soon where I think really could legit continue this the whole season. Yes, I also did not get it insier coach. I picked Buddy Tom Stewart, Jeremy how and Caleb Daniel all over him. So shout out to those guys for disappointing me. They're legit ruined by me this week. So whoever's in my sus team, I hope they're happy with themself. Right. Midfield is I haven't actually written down the stats for my midfielders, but number three I've gone a Darcy parish. I ad judged him best on for Essendon against St Kilda. I've got the stats here at the most met is gained for the game. Second most contested POSI's most clearances, second most score involvements, tied first for school launchers. Then in second I had Tom Liberatore, obviously in that game. You legit could have picked any of the midfielders, but he was really good. Most inside S, which is probably not something we associate with him, and he was an absolutely contestable second, most contested possis for the game, most clearances for the game, most school launchers and third, most score involvements. And then, finally, my number one man, someone you actually just touched on as a bargain pick up, and it was Hugh Green Wood. Surprisingly picked up the five votes against relating a loss, but he had the most inside s for the game, second, tied second in contested possessions, second in clearances, most pressure acts and most tackles, which is if you look at the stats for Gold Coast every week, that's something that is basically a given. He's an absolute beast in those two stats. So Yep, he actually picked up the five votes for me there. who were your mids of the week? While sort of got a tie for the third place between parish and Gaff, parish obviously,...

...with the thirty four touches, and I mean ten score involvements, Gaff thirty six touches of third aid marks. Yes, gets a few sort of cheapis on the wing, but the end of the day. He is a gun and has been for so many years and was back to his best on the weekend against port number two. It was very hard to go between one and two. Who to pick the end of the day? I've gone to I've got Cam gut three, who, at forty three touches and was huge against the hawks, just offers so much to that long line up. But not many people realize he's just such a composed player that you wouldn't pick it from the way he looks. It looks just the opposite. He looks like a frantic caveman, but he's really comes, really composed player and it starts to becoming really damaging play for him as well. And obviously you know goes under the head, goes under the lights because of danger field and Selwood whatnot. But number one patty crips thirty four touches, letting clearances, but also two goals. Yes, there are a lot of sort of junk time starts against the dockers, but then the day look back to his best and a fit and firing patty creeps is up there with just about the best playing the competition. So it was great to see it look like that again and haven't finally have like a thirty plus disposal game where he also kicks a couple of just looks like a class above everyone else on the field. You know, the Games are better when Patty crips is fit and firing and not when he sort of lumbering or an injured getting twenty touches with fifteen and the being handles. It was awesome to see and I can't wait until that a few really close games where Patty crips is having these thirty disposal games, because it's going to be an absolute spectacle. Yeah, and yeah, obviously shut up the haters. He was getting a lot of media groups and he also did it against his future team, so that's a good effort. I think he's going to resign pretty soon. But anyway, imagine you feel of creeps share a Srong brachial five we oh, of course, Jeez, I don't even know if that's possible under the sy Cap, to be honest. That'd be pretty sick. But yeah, I think you were fift Ford. Yeah, I five. Yet they need help up there. Hating done as well, and it's stone to be scary. Yeah, nearly is scary. Side all right. Rock of the week. There's been a lot of talk about Ruck Ruckman this week. I'll maybe get your opinion on it with, I think, Nathan Buckley coming out and saying they don't actually matter that much or something like that, because Brodie grundy absolutely tore up. Well, I was going to say the Brisbane Ruckman, but they didn't really have any Ruckman. So the prison life and obviously they still lost. So but my ruck of the week is Max Gorne, obviously the other part of Gordy. Obviously don't have him in super coach, which is another reason why four hundredzero. But yeah, yeah, yeah, I'd like twelve or thirteen hit outs to advantage. I think he had the second most clearances in the game, most contested marks, most score involvements, went forward and kicked a couple goals. I also believe. So he was a big reason why they ended up getting over the giant. So Gornie back to it. Will Not back to his best. He has always been the best of recent times. But yeah, absolutely killed it. Do you think Ruckman matter or not really? Yes, no, I do. You know, I for people that say to Rackhaman matter. I'd love to hear the sort of proposition for a game where there are no rack and I don't know how we would begin. I don't know what would happen every few minutes when there's stoppages. I hundre precent thing. Rockman matter. At the end of the day it's like one position on the ground. It and but these players are so much more diverse to the other players on the field I don't see how it's going to be a better game without them. You know, with the likes of Grundy and gone, you know John Your TV screen for so much of the game because there are iner it around the contest, but then you seem leaping for marks in the defensive but also the Ford Fifty. And then you know youse kicking goals and stuff. Of course you know you can't say Rupman don't matter when you go and seating that play, for example. So myrak of the week is Brody Grundy. It wasn't up against much of a challenge and the rock against Brisbane, but did get twenty eight touches, so nearly thirty touches for a Rutman a against an outfit you know that has the likes of Neal and you know mcgage is all goal and all that, and dad lines running through there in the opposition getting his contested ball as well as the pies, you know, Taylor Adams and Pendal Brey and stuff. To get nearly thirty touches at a truck load of hit outs. Eighteen of his touches were contested as well, I think was huge.

I think you know exact Bailey had kick the point at the end of the game, Brody Grunty, all the talk about it would be completely reverse and it, you know, would really got the three remotes and everyone will be saying how much of an incredible game you APP because Bailey keep that goal. It all goes the other way, which is unfortunate. But yeah, a hundred percent racomma matter and yeah, you see, you know the fact that Rachman of one, brownlow's, Jim Stewin's example, they matter. So that's that's the end of the story there. Yeah, it's I think it's more of a reflection on the collingwood midfield. It's almost like they need a guy called out into law, like just yeah, suggestions. Yeah, Tailor Adams having an absolute Stinger of you so far. He is probably the biggest chopper of the footy of all time, tail Adams. You just are, just look at Fan footy and he's just like twenty touches, ten clangers. It's like I'm yeah, anyway, forwards of the week. As always, my algorithm absolutely dogging all forwards in the AFL. A cologies for that. He basically played midfield the whole game. But my forward of the week is actually going to be Dane's all go. He's a forward on in my super coach side, so I'll be considering him forward today. But yeah, the most inside FIS in that game. Second, most mets gained, third, most effective kicks up there for tackles and pressure acks as always as well. So he was good. But Yeah, obviously I'm sure you'll talk about a bit. shoutouts to Taylor Walker and macay. I think they both picked up two votes in their games from my algorithm. Josh Bruce did not poll. Can help that. He has to stop. Yeah, it's a statement, yes, to stop pat elsewhere to get picked up by the algorithm. But yeah, text in macay. Well done to them. But Harry mccay, if you could kick straight, you could have had ten. So just twelve. Yeah, it's actually the thing about that way. So yeah, right, who you're forwards at the week? Well, I'll give shared outs the tomp happy and Toby Green and cozy pick it as well. In sand weeks as well. They were all phenomenal. But the tall fords made it very easy for me. This week. The Big Three are going to be up there sys a matter of what water. So at three I've got Harry mccay, who did kick seven, but it was seven goals five, so it could have had twelve but didn't. He had seven in touches as well. He was really good. But I think get some really, really undemand freemantle defense. I'm sure there are a lot of tall forwards in the camp. They could keep bags against them. And Number Two got text twenty four touches from Texan and six goals, including twelve score involvements. Obviously out the incredible performance from him. It's awesome to see someone like him like tearing the competition apart. You know, I'm not no one would have picked it, not even the kiss of death from the age or Heraldton newspaper. I don't know if you follow that. It's basically a tips so that Tis all the wrong teams. Every week when I do the footage tips with all the celebrities, that kiss of death is at the bottom with like, you know, that scream mask from the movies. Not even he would have predicted text and to come out and far away he's doing this year. So created to him. He's having incredible year. But at number one fortune let the ex Sait Josh Bruce who, yes, it's against North Bell would but I mean ten, ten, let's be real. It's you know, it's nearly three goals of quarter and in a game of AFL when you've also got Norton, who's a spearheaded attack, alongside you, to kid tens and incredible effort. Also got plenty of touches and the BAWL. So he was awesome. Shows composure. was kicking his ten. He knew that was going to be his last chance to get it. So prove that he can actually you can handle moments under pressure. Friend, you could have done that when he played for us. You know, Beag of ten would have been handy, but he did not, to be fair, in his time he did show you how the capability to do so. He keeps a few bags of five and six. Maybe this first couple of games he actually did playing forward. So got to give it to the big three for the fords of the week. Yeah, a hundred percent agree with that. I'll be honest, I didn't. I didn't watch the whole game, but I don't know how foggity like if you just look at his starts in new and look like he had that big of a game. But everyone was raving about any hat got like a hundred and sixty years seven super coach points, so it must have had a lot of like scores and stuff like that. But well done to him. In colden fans are just so. They've been riding right about walshing croups for twenty four months and they need someone else to run a raid. As soon as someone popped up and had a first, you know, good game of career that they're all over him like could twelve in Triden orgy like straight onto him. So created to him. But all right, rookie of the week. I don't know if I want to say this player's name now after that call from you, but I've actually gone back to back with abis to coming Isaac coming. I...

...have to say no rookie actually pulled in my brown low votes this week. So I had to look at who just missed out on the votes and there are a couple contenders come to mind. Warner, I think GAF came close. Shout out to CEJ. Yeah, they've got some exciting players off halfback, but I'm going with my man, Isaac coming again. He looks like he's going to wrack up in my brown low points. He's just playing that halfback role that it seems to love. Giving votes to the most rebound s in the game time, most contested possessions, which is pretty weird for a half back, and he had the second mostage decepts. So He's playing that fun role. That's I love super coach players who play that halfback intercept type. Yes, it's probably hurting helping his cause at they're getting smashed at the moment because he's getting a lot of a lot of it. But yeah, that contested possession stat as well, very impressive. So yeah, Isaac Coming backtoback weeks. He looks well and truly on his way to winning my rookie of the year. How about you? There three ways. I well, I've got one winner, but three names. When I mentioned CEJ, Jaff he's big, you know him, and ran can aroul have become probably my three favorite plays in the cold, just because I was unbelievable when he got it off half back. You know, I became an Awthorn supporter for that game and melt, but I was just I've hated Awthorne for twenty years and I started, you know, I would go for them. The back of him come on, and the you know, mitchels clung to be one of the last quarn. I thought, what am I doing? I don't support all of them, I hate but the sort of energy that Cej Jack, you've said team and just I don't know if you watched him, but he would get the ball and run and like no one can stop him. I just alid too fast. It's actually ridiculous. Yeah, it's I don't know. He got a down. He got like a fifty meter penalty and I think it was against Tomahawk. So Cj Jeff is, you started to run with it, to run it. You know, he couldn't be tackled. Yes, Yuh was a school ground, but then he just started to go. He just kept going, going, going and he could have kept on going for another fifty me is how a shot a goal and he kicked the two about five meters out. I don't think it eventuated in so much on one. I've them but it wasn't a goal. But that could have been a goal of the year nearly. So I can't. I'M gonna really start to watch Hawthorne really closely now because of just because of J Jeff and how awesome he's becoming a halfback. I've also got Chad Water in there from the Swan's twenty touches to old one got the rising Stein nomination. Obviously wouldn't have picked it after last year, given he had here. Think you play one or two games, but just looks really out of place. This year he's completely turned around. Looks like a new player. He's been also for but number one, SAM weeks twee. Twenty one touches, thirteen marks, three goals to and he's not a key forward. He's played less than ten games and he's like, you know, a hundred eighty on. That's crazy's not even like a Muti sizeward, he's like a pressure forward. So to have those stats against Richmond at the G in front of the Taiglen home crowd being literally the Swan's main target up forward, and that's such a young Ford Line Without Buddy Franklin, you know, against like some of the best defense, the competition was unreal. So it's a no brainer for me. Definitely say our weeks up there. Can't wait to see how long these one's will, he's, keep up this street for. I hope it's for the whole season because these guys are unbelievable and credit to whoever's recruited them and developed them, because they are looking to be some genuinely just, you know, potentially be elite players in the AFL, and that's no overstatement or anything. That's just pure fact. Yeah, I can't get over the similarities between this Sydney team and the port team like its surrounding me so much of when butters rosy and does but came into the team. They just look completely different. Whole new energy about them. They're even their experienced players seem pretty similar. The only differences maybe if buddy you comes back and starts kicking goals like Charlie Dixon has been, all of a sudden they could be just like poored, a premiership contender, but yet very impressive the amount of Sydney rookies who are putting on clinics at the moment, or a bit of a long one today, but we love it, or a week for preview time and who I mentioned it before. This was some of the hardest stuff I've ever done. Shout out to me, though. I got both my upsets right last week. I said West Coast to be poured and Brisbane to beat Collingwood. Oh, yes, I'm very happy about that, but I don't think I tip that well in general, though, as did I don't think anyone did actually to be found it. I think anyone tips Sydney or Essen and but speaking of those two teams, that's my sure better this week. It's I went through each game and I thought who am I confident with, and this is probably the Ma only match that I'm more than seventy percent confident with. I'm not fully,...

I'm not a hundred percent confident, don't get me wrong, but sitting you're in great form, buddy, and robottom are pretty predicted to come back into that lineup. It's at Sydney Essen and they got their big win that probably no one was expecting. They're probably going to be on a bit of a come down from last week and yet hopefully Sydney can just extend there around to four and oh because, yeah, I just didn't really know what other team game to pick. Basically. So that's my short bet of this week. Who are you going with? Well, I've got too old. For the sake of variety, I won't go to Sydney use and I'll go to others. I've got the I'm always doing this because I want to be proven wrong and given by history to see you're tipping so far, it's a good chance I get proven wrong. I've got the eagles against the saints. I think that that attack that the eagles have is so strong I'm not sure how we're going to contain the lights of Kennedy Gaff and sorry, Kennedy right and Darling and els grow Allen especially, and also their midfield, who we got obliterated by an Essen. The midfields. I'm not sure how we going to handle Tim Kelly and Andrew Gaff and so on, all the pies hest gws. I'm not as confident on that one because, yeah, I'm not as confident on that one. I've got that in probably third behind the two we've mentioned, but just given the form that gws are in, it's still so hard to bind to the fact that they are just really not good. But I don't see the pies blowing them away. But if they do blow them all, wait you will be partly because Judas just woke school. So I've got them in a three. So hopefully toby Grehen can do something like kicksix and have twenty five, because that's the why. That's the only way. I say that winning the game. Yeah, I tell you what, I know. JDOS aren't great, but the bookies bloody love Collingwood. They were. Yeah, it's against Brisbane last week and they're like a dollar twenty and gws. But yeah, I guess I get that they are one of the most likely teams to win this week upset of the week. Could have picked any of them, but I'm starting any young girl with the Gold Coast to beat Carlton. I think that's the most likely of the underdogs to get up. They are only two dollar underdog, so it's done in outrageous claimed by me. Carlton looked good against Frio, but Freyo will without six or seven best twenty two players. They weren't great in the first two rounds either. Yes, they did play Richmond and Collingwood, who I don't know if Colin were any actually that could though, and it is it the Gold Coast, which is another thing in gold coast favor, and I just think the Gold Coast really need to step up. They probably were very surprised to lose to Adelaide last week. I reckon they would have been expecting to come away with the points. So I reckon this is the week where they really need to step up and have a bit of a statement win and I think they need to put column to the sword and prove that they're still in topic contention, because if they lose this week then all of a sudden they're on the serious back foot like St Kildare. So yeah, I reckon Gold Coast will beat Carlton. If I had to pick an upset this week, who do you like here? Like we said, basically anyone. But who do you think it's most likely to get up? First of all, I hope otherwise, because I kind of have money on Carlton to like multi with the Eagles, so essentially make my money back for a few lost bets. So passed down too. So thinkers cross the Blues Actually Get up there? I think they will like the loss of Jared Whitson all that kitcher first. Yeah, Chris Burgess, think the h yeah, exactly, Bi h McKay up for capefully kick a few, I think Patty crips and semi wildful just have it on a string. Rpefully at Adam side in his own deck. Other is our so old deck can stream through the back line. But I have got odd surprised at these odds. Richmond is to thirty five. Held that about like that's our rageous. I'm not sure if the footy betting community or anyone has suffers from sort of short term memory ones or whatever, but Richmond don't ever have two bad forms as in a row. They I think there was some weird quirky stat where Richmond of lost like the last three round three games by like five colds or something like that, like last years against Hawthorne. This year is Sydney and I think two years ago as by someone else, by like nearly fifty points, I think it was, and they always back it up. It's it's like after one week we've all suddenly jumped off Richmond, Dan Wag and you know, we saw have poor port. We're on the weekend and yes, I said on a big believer with this massive home Crown Advantage, especially the Adelaide teams, are led over. But Richmond had this guy, I don't know if you've had him, called US and none who has the capability, yes or no. Well, yeah, it's a WHO...

...has capabilly, you know, Kick Five and have twenty to thirty, and I think this week he's going to do that. He was quite in the Sitney game. Looked like he was jogging a fair bit of the game. Didn't work massively defense of the ERICON. I would have gotten a bit of a talking to from high week because it was obviously was nowhere near the same extent as a saints game, but I think they did lack a bit of sort of ethnic times. There was a bit there wasn't as much work in the defensive fifty from their mids and actually their defenders at time sort of mending up and stuff. I think that's the reason why they were a lot of marks from their form sine's forwards and just plays going into the Ford Line like weeks for example. I think Tom Hicky had a few easy ones, but I've still reckoned that these two dollar thirty five odds for Richmond are just very disrespectful to the quality of side they are. They did beat port in a prelim last year at the ground, similar conditions. Lineups haven't really changed at all, so I think it's two or thirty five. I was a great because you know you've got dusty mind. You Got Rewell and lynches are too prom the tag winch hasn't done much this years, so no better time to fire up than now. And Port are obviously pretty reliant on Dixon when they go forward. George Ardison. Marshall's still young, good but still young, and I think it's going to be a great contest. Of Don't get me wrong, but I thought I should be a lot closer than that. I believe, because both teams have poor performances on the weekend and if it was any other team I'd agree with these odds, like a Brisbane or a even just loong if they had to trouble to Adelaide and play port in front of a front of Adelaide Oval. But given its Richmond, given they don't have a have two bad performances in a road because the confidence that that team has in it's playing group and it's just play style, I definitely think that they're going to come out fire. I can probably winn. Yeah, sorry, people. Yeah, rest in peace. To feel cheal with back with US next week. But actually, other than he might be too shattered about their loss to richmond to come on the podcast. Maybe that's why he's not here. He's actually all is he's away. These hold our house. But we don't know. We don't have to say that's the real reason. We can put it on the list. But yeah, I don't know. Name is another situation where three time premier team in the last four years coming up against an opponent who just had their pants pulled down on in prime time. They're coming in at those odds. So, yeah, I don't know what's that about. But anyway or right game spreads, you can basically just pick any any but I'm going to point out some of my favorites. Just like you mentioned Richmond at in head to head, a great odds, but Richmond at plus eight point five. Yes, it's obviously a dollar niney odds, but to get that eight point buffer, I think that's outstanding. Other ones I like. I like it. So jelong, most Melbourne. Not sure who's going to win it, but you'd have to think Glong, even though they're not playing well at the moment. So they are only four point five point favorites. So less than a goal margin of victory pretty rare. So I liked along in that one. If you think same Kilda, I have just had a few blips in the radar. They are do have a seventeen point five handicap, so could back them in there. But yeah, the ones I like gws. Plus Twenty five point five. Yes, they're suffer a lot of injuries, but that most of their games have been fairly close, even though they have been out played, and most of them so that's a pretty big margin. And also calling wood aren't that great. I don't reckon. I think North could bounce back against Adelaide. So plus twenty point plus twenty point five there. I think that's also another spicy one. Any other ones that interest you? I think this eagles it. You know, less seventeen point five is like that way interesting. Yeah, unfortunately, I'll you know, it could just be me wanting to be proven wrong yet, but this less certainly point five looks very tasty. I think if the Eagles are going to win, it's going to be convincingly. It's going to be by five plus goals. I think is this, this line is at least a couple of goals under what it should be. So I think the likes of Darling and Allen and Kennedy and Ryan, I think they're going to keep. Let's make a prediction. I reckon they'll keep twelve goals between them. Unfortunately, it's going to be tough to win if that happens. Yeah, exactly. I hate to say that. Yeah, I hate to say that, but I think it's going to be twelve goals between them. I love to be proven wrong, and I'm almost saying this because I want to be proven wrong, because I haven't barely got a prediction right this year. So hope that I can stay in system way and we can come out fire and we ship them and then you know, we've got our more joe back. We prove all that doubts and haters like myself wrong. But yeah, I'm going to jump on that lot. I might not jump on it, but I'll, you know, watch that less seventeen. Point five how many just text...

...kick against north? Oh, it's a big question this week, isn't it? Yeah, Jay's out of all. The funny thing is he's kids. What is it like? Two bags of five and a bag of six or something like that. Yeah, so I think I think it might be. It might be two bags six in a bag of five. But the funny thing is out of these, out of the four games, this is the easiest for him to keep the bag and so I think it's going to be. Well, I think you can almost lock in three minimum. I think it's just going to be another six and then someone like you know, another casual six and you know someone like macadam or something's going to kick for as well. I love the cat, I tell you what. I had him for any time on the weekend and he was so frustrating because I didn't see it for the first quarter and a half and then he finally took a great mark on the boundary. Forty five. I've outslide enough or thank God I'm never putting him as an armor to again, because it is as much as you want any kicks goals, he's just he just doesn't find the footy that much at all. So it was just on it gets to the Ford fifth time describing. Where the hell are you, macadamt? It was at times we found some of the back liners plume Hera, but it got done before halftime. So yeah, I think I text in for five or six. Yeah, it reverstended, but yeah, that's interesting. Could very well another smoke you. We haven't Tut touched on too much. We talked about cjg aft, but yeah, Hawthorne, I reckon there are a real good chance against Freeo, and especially with the game spread. They're given ten point. Yeah, points. I just don't think Hawthorne will keep losing. So I think there's a win around the corner and it's just a matter of time. Yet Free Oh fres tough and five probably back, but they're still got a lot of backline injuries. Hawthorne look good against you along, especially in that second half. So I reckon Hawthorne with the spreads, definitely very interesting. Just before we go, stuper coach, update from yourself. Who are you looking at bring in this week? Because we're we're just talking about text. I'm tempted to jump on him lightly just because I reckon he's going to kick another bag. But who are you looking at? Bringing the super coaches or, if you want to get text, has to be this week. So yeah, I don't know, I can't. I always want to make so many changes to my team, but it gets to, you know, closer finals and I've got five trade safes. I'm just like, I've got it. I should have saved those stupid trades I made started year. I'm trumps, but I am forced into making a trade because I've got hated young. So I don't hat what. None of my rookies on the bench expensive enough to down grade to another rookies then upgrade young. And I'm not downgrading anyone on my any rookies on my field. I've seen a few people, you know, jump off Campbell or whatever, but you know, they all these guys to love, like a hundred of K to make or more in like Eric Gordon's case, for example. So I'm just going to go with the one. I'm actually going to go him down to Heath Chapman who, given the Plethora of injuries in the dockers defense, he's probably going to get a lot of game time. Yet a pretty good game of the weekend. So hopefully he's got very, very good job security. So unfortunately he's going to have to sit dsix for me. Hopefully Tom I'm or can come back, because I'm not sure how long jake because he's going to last. But I'm going to have hea chapman a d six of that gives me a hundred sixty K to use in maybe a week or two time. I can like upgrade at Tom Phillips, who I a Sam Welsh or something, but I'm just not going to burn that trade just because I've got faith in Tommy Phillips that he can find a bit of form and maybe still finish a top six forward. So I'm just going to go the one trade of just going young down to Chapman. Hope he can stay in the team for long enough so that I can eventually upgrade him. But can he bake me on sixty and hope it's remain injury free. Now what about yourself, Janus? I think I'm going to have to cop getting one of the premo rocks this week. I think they both have bad performances round one, so that means they dropped in price, both of them, but obviously that goes out of the break even calculations now. So they're both going to be looking to rise from here. So as I think it's more grundy, I think Gorn's still probably a little bit too expensive because I just have to go from a rookie to him and I'd waste my six hundred K in the bank. But think I'll be going bringing grundy this week and just biting the Ballard. Yes, it sucks. He's got Matt Flin as well. Yeah, exactly, UN so. Yeah, yeah, I think I'm just going to have to do that. I don't want to. It's kind of boring, but I'd rather do like two mini upgrades and fix some of my premos that have been shit. But yeah, I think I've just got to cop that. But yeah, we'll see how it goes. At the moment everything I'm doing is failing, so we'll see. Yeah, thanks for joining me today. Row Very Long One,...

...but I can't live a job. I love all that all the others. Sorry, Pimish, but I'm sure, Peel Trelli back next week potentially try and do one in person. That we do say that most weeks, but it will happen. I did one in person with my dad in the NFL. So I do follow up on some promises. But yeah, exciting week of AFL to come. So enjoy that. I'm looking forward to it. And yet thanks for listening and watching and cheer. See you next time.
